Android downloads: 113,533, revenue: $1,091.11, eCPM: $2.11, impressions: 467.1k
iOS downloads: 103,095, revenue: $1,375.53, eCPM $3.42, impressions: 364.8k
Total daily active users peaked at 33.9k, and then quickly leveled off at around 9k
Extra iOS stats:
Downloads by source: 54% from app store search, 20% from app store browse, 20% web referral, and 6% app referral.
Device breakdown: 62% iPhone, 37% iPad, 1% iPod
1 day retention: 35-42%, 28 day retention: 4%

I recently developed a mobile game with the unity game engine. It's called "Stick With It" and is a rage platformer game. In this video we take a look at how the game made money, and how much it made. Instead of using traditional interstitial ads, I tried another monetization strategy - Rewarded Video. Players have the option to watch videos and get something in return, in my case they can undo a move.
This strategy seemed to fail, because the ARPDAU was around $0.003, but then I updated the game...
In the update, I fixed bugs, added a normal mode, created some new characters, introduced a map screen for selecting checkpoints, and set up in-app purchases. Incidentally, the revenue ended up increasing, because the game was actually possible to play, so uhhhh, people actually played it.
This is the final devlog in the stick with it game development journey. I'll still like fix bugs and stuff, but the game is now done pretty much. Huge thanks to everyone who played the game, rated it, sent me bug reports, played some ads, or unlocked skins!

Well, statisticly speaking people need to keep playing your game for it to make money. Therefore mandatory ads could lower the player numbers lowering the profit. So what i am trying to say is; you don’t have to be a *good* dude to not make mandatory ads, its just a win win situation anyway.
1. He is a professional and that would ruin some of his reputation.
2. He has a freaking audience.

Yes, almost always on the scale of $1 per 1 thousand views with all averages considered. There are always multiple factors to take into account and it's not 100% exactly a dollar per thousand views, but it's usually fairly close.
@@Mkrabs there is no reason to add k. As with the k it would be 1.4 thousand thousand which equates to 1.4 million. Also the full stop (period) should be swapped around with the comma.

@@sinerothmike7292 Yeah, Geometry Dash is actually really fun and someone can get really good at it quickly. Before I actually bought the game, I agree, the ads in the Lite Version were worse than the difficulty of the game. Without the ads, it is really fun.

Wow this is very similar to a game I'm making which I want to be the first game I actually finish and put out there. Impossible mode: Fast Moving arrow.
Hard mode: Moving arrow + Spikes
Normal mode: Selectable arrow + *EVEN* *MORE* *SPIKES*
It would be too easy without spikes
He should make one one with fast moving and extra spikes to see how long it takes people to beat it (maybe even remove checkpoints)
I think at first the spikes were meant to allow people to respawn at the checkpoint rather than loosing a bunch of progress whenever they fall.
but after that he introduced the restart at checkpoint button and made the spikes kinda redundant
Tried impossible mode. It seems that the arrow can vary in speed depending on how squished you are, or maybe it depends on how tight of a squeeze your character is in... idk
@@Cobra-xo1nz tbh it would be easy and boring and it would only become a generic platform game you typically see out there if he decided to remove the spikes in normal mode. I thought it would only be more fun to slow the arrows rotation a bit to retain its challenging mechanics which he intended the game to be ( the game becomes a bit more frustrating when i reach vertical walls because its hard to time the arrows there and i always gets sent backwards)

Finally, I saw your video and the algorithm seems knowing what I was looking for. Someone commented on the Poinpy (a Netflix game) official trailer that Poinpy isn't an original idea and he mentioned about a UA-camr made a similar game to that game and the UA-camr game isn't scrolling horizontally. Impossible mode glitch: if you go to the menu in impossible mode while falling, you will go back to the place you jumped from. I know you won’t see this, but I hope so
3:49 Finished checkpoints, allow redo's for teh checkpoint's parcour on higher settings to get more final score.
Then people can try and get a higher score, over all checkpoints after they completed the game.
Special abilities upon finishing a checkpoint's parcour usable once like a super jump to get a shortcut
or something like that.
This is actually a great game to play and it’s actually hard, well...for me anyways. Great job Sam!

i'm developing my first mobile game and this video really inspires me. not really hoping to make huge money out of it, just enough for surviving while i make a better game.
I have an idea for an update: what if you could customise your character? Basically every time you get a skin, you get accessories from it like for example you could put a moustache on a lemon and also maybe there could be individual accessories you could buy with in game money which could be rewarded through any way you would like and players could buy the in game currency for real money
I have mad respect for actually putting out how much money you made, soo many UA-camrs never say or just lie saying a lower amount.

Actually you can add 2 things to make it better in my opinion :
Level editor to let the players publish their levels
And a multiplayer mode which you have to reach the end of the level before the other player do (like racing)

For your next update I wanna give some recommendations that I think would fit this game
1) Possibly make the background change as you get higher like in "Getting Over It" because when I first played "Getting Over It" it felt more rewarding going up higher and higher and showed your progress in real time
2) Idk how possible it is a but a leaderboard for each mode of who beat it the fastest so people could have something to try and challenge themselves further or achieve
3) A new mode where you keep the same controls as normal but you only get one life. This gives people who beat normal something to do it they don't want to beat Hard or Impossible and rewards being skilled
4) Maybe like my first point have the area like the ground change the higher you get I think it would be more rewarding being able to see the landscape change the higher you get
5) This will probably never work but if you could some how make it like "Pogostuck" and "Pogostuck 2" where you can see the other players in game but they don't effect actual game play

I would love to see more updates for the game in the future. Here are some suggestions:
-A few *secret* skins that are hidden on the menu screen and in secret areas while playing.
-A stat board (Ex. Jumps, Deaths, Moves Undone, etc.)
-Expanding the map which can be unlocked after beating the game once.
Edit: I came up with a few new ideas.
-Graphics Settings. Maybe some nice and polished graphics, or maybe a Black and White theme.
-Enemies. There could be a mode in which there would be enemy blobs that could hinder your focus to spice up the game a little.
-An xp system. Maybe depending on your progression between checkpoints could calculate the amount of xp you gain. You could add another in-app purchase to level up 4x as fast or something. Leveling up could unlock new skins or make the speed of the arrow in Hard or Impossible a tiny bit slower each time.
-As suggested in my Reply Section, an option to fiddle around with how many particles are caused by the player. You could allow players to spit out a whole screen of projectiles as a meme, or have an option to have no particles at all.
Just a few suggestions. This game has a ton of potential, and I believe in your ability to make the game truly amazing.

You know the particles when you jump and how you can make a lot of them
You should make a menu where you can fiddle with those things for fun (edit 3: Kinda like Minecraft render distance sliders)
Edit: 7:30 also with this thing you could have a fix button to fix the blob
Edit 2: this one may not be possible and may need to be a separate game but you could make something like Mario maker for this game (if it’s not too hard that’s ok, I don’t know a thing about coding lol)
Edit 4: if you did do the sick with it maker, you could make a place for people to upload their words on the internet (kinda like the geometry dash thing)

@@Funny-gv5wf Got my dad's old phone, but the one I broke was my nanas old phone since she replaced it with an iPhone 7 back when those were new, so it's an improvement, I still have the oldest phone out of everybody I know but at least I still have a headphone jack

I downloaded not too long ago and normal mode is actually fun, i only played a little but i enjoyed it. The ad reward is like the best way to advertise because throwing advertisments literally every time you click the menu is torchure.
