#1 thing to do in almost any puzzle/platform game is include some kind of competition like a highscores/best time chart. people always want to be the best at something.
This taught me that for the average Joe, making a mobile game isn’t worth it if you’re in it for the money. The stats were very insightful. As well as knowing you got a sort of “boost” by publishing videos about the game’s development progress, spreading the word. I appreciate this kind of video quite a bit.
I don’t know what to classify this as but basically as the hot dog, I was able to get over the wall on the left at the very beginning of the game, I think there was another one but when I got over it I was sent plummeting endlessly with no death
Heres a suggestion: Add a race mode! so random users (real ones and bot ones depending on which you select) are faced up and first to finish gets a win added to their stats, you can make skins for winning races. If it isnt too hard, you could add a private multiplayer mode so players have a UUID (randomly generated or customly chosen, whichever you wanna go for) and can add friends to practice together. You could also make different maps, that you have to unlock (free to select in private multiplayer) Finally, you could add a custom level builder with some tools to build a custom level Edit: Some extra stuff i thought of since this got some attention Add backgrounds for coins or however you got the skins before! Add a custom skin feature so users can go into the skin creator and make one (certain amount of coins per creation) Chest unlocks for reaching certain points in the maps that you have to wait between 1 hour and 3 days (depending on the chest rarity) to be able to open or you can pay with coins; chests can give custom skin tokens, already available skins, backgrounds and sometimes coins!
Not only are you an amazing programmer, you are also a conscientious and transparent businessman. You purposefully chose the least intrusive ads, and you're posting your statistics and revenue for all to see. If every business was run your way, the world would be a better place.
Wow this is very similar to a game I'm making which I want to be the first game I actually finish and put out there. It also started off with the rotating arrow and switched to full control aiming XD I need to look more into this monetization strategy now, it would fit my game well I think. Thanks for sharing this!
I've always wanted to make a game based on color, But I've yet to think of anything remotely fun other than complicating color by numbers (which people already seem to like for unknown reasons) with physics.
Just a suggestion I called it Builder mode: this is a mode where you can create your own level and you can publish it so other people can try it. And a leaderboard which level is the most popular Another suggestion: Race mode: this is a mode where you can race with your friends or random and a leaderboard of most wins So there is a bit of competitiveness in the game
Publishing levels would be really hard... he would probably have to pay for servers so the game could connect online, they'd probably cost more than the game itself
This will likely be like geometry dash, -its hard -theres a level editor -theres a leaderboard -bunch of character icons -one small mistake can lead to loss of progress

@darius mcvay So in a lot of languages, ! Negates a Boolean. So !True is False. By the Same logic, !False is true. Return !!False = !True = False which is hilarious
I know this is way old - but... Out of curiosity - you said at around 6:20 that the game jumped when you worked on it, what was the mechanic behind this - did the release itself change the steam algo, did it generate extra social traffic/reviews etc - just doing an update wouldn't have immediately pull in users if you get what I mean, it was a cause but what was the actual thing?
The graph tracks money earned, the people that still played the game saw the extra content and grinded more to complete the extra stuff, therefore bringing in more money from ads. Also its the app store and play store not steam
It’s just a recommendation but I would recommend adding a make your own kind of thing where players could make they’re own levels and publish them on the game you could also make accounts and see what experience level you or others are.

Heres a suggestion:
Add a race mode! so random users (real ones and bot ones depending on which you select) are faced up and first to finish gets a win added to their stats, you can make skins for winning races.
If it isnt too hard, you could add a private multiplayer mode so players have a UUID (randomly generated or customly chosen, whichever you wanna go for) and can add friends to practice together.
You could also make different maps, that you have to unlock (free to select in private multiplayer)
Finally, you could add a custom level builder with some tools to build a custom level
Edit: Some extra stuff i thought of since this got some attention
Add backgrounds for coins or however you got the skins before!
Add a custom skin feature so users can go into the skin creator and make one (certain amount of coins per creation)
Chest unlocks for reaching certain points in the maps that you have to wait between 1 hour and 3 days (depending on the chest rarity) to be able to open or you can pay with coins; chests can give custom skin tokens, already available skins, backgrounds and sometimes coins!
one thing: he will need to design some security. any app or game with multiplayer or stats, someone will try to mod or hack.
If there is a race mode I am sticking with aryan.
How easy do you think coding all of that is?
it’s just an idea, i’m sorry if it’s not easiest
@@Chumbonator well i mean its multiplayer networking

Not only are you an amazing programmer, you are also a conscientious and transparent businessman.
You purposefully chose the least intrusive ads, and you're posting your statistics and revenue for all to see.
If every business was run your way, the world would be a better place.
Wow this is very similar to a game I'm making which I want to be the first game I actually finish and put out there. It also started off with the rotating arrow and switched to full control aiming XD I need to look more into this monetization strategy now, it would fit my game well I think. Thanks for sharing this!

S. Elizabeth Bowman saaame
Knowing how different colors interact with each other is really interesting
I've always wanted to make a game based on color,
But I've yet to think of anything remotely fun other than complicating color by numbers (which people already seem to like for unknown reasons) with physics.
Yeah, I wanted to try it. :(
I was one of the people constantly pressing "undo" so, yeah XD
Ok
Lol
@Apollo 100 subscribers please I didn't say I was complaining about anything, did I?
Yup
Just a suggestion
I called it Builder mode: this is a mode where you can create your own level and you can publish it so other people can try it. And a leaderboard which level is the most popular
Another suggestion:
Race mode: this is a mode where you can race with your friends or random and a leaderboard of most wins
So there is a bit of competitiveness in the game
In race mode it would be a great idea to latch onto other players and unstick them
Nemesis of course there will be hackers :/ every game that has a leader system have a hacker
Publishing levels would be really hard... he would probably have to pay for servers so the game could connect online, they'd probably cost more than the game itself
This will likely be like geometry dash,
-its hard
-theres a level editor
-theres a leaderboard
-bunch of character icons
-one small mistake can lead to loss of progress
Good suggestions!

Actually you can add 2 things to make it better in my opinion :
Level editor to let the players publish their levels
And a multiplayer mode which you have to reach the end of the level before the other player do (like racing)
Or a move counter to make it more competitive, gotta be precise :p

I know this is way old - but...
Out of curiosity - you said at around 6:20 that the game jumped when you worked on it, what was the mechanic behind this - did the release itself change the steam algo, did it generate extra social traffic/reviews etc - just doing an update wouldn't have immediately pull in users if you get what I mean, it was a cause but what was the actual thing?
The graph tracks money earned, the people that still played the game saw the extra content and grinded more to complete the extra stuff, therefore bringing in more money from ads. Also its the app store and play store not steam

I might be 3 years late for this video, but I wanted to say that I loved playing your game and making a video about it.
It’s just a recommendation but I would recommend adding a make your own kind of thing where players could make they’re own levels and publish them on the game you could also make accounts and see what experience level you or others are. The make your own feature would be called Stick With It Premium and it would cost as much as you want. Btw I’m one of your biggest fans and I’ve been playing this game from day 1 and I still play it. I hope you see this🙃
Or maybe a mode where players race or try to survive the longest
Oh yeah!!!! Or maybe more levels and worlds like virtual worlds and other stuff and they would have different themes
Ahhh, a 'level pack' sequel like in good 'ol flash era?
