Those who refused to leave after warnings were arrested and charged with criminal trespass, a university spokesperson, Benjamin Johnson, said, citing rules barring overnight events.
As the death toll mounts in Gaza and the humanitarian crisis worsens, protesters at universities across the US are demanding schools cut financial ties to Israel and divest from companies they say are enabling the conflict. Some Jewish students say the protests have veered into antisemitism and made them afraid to set foot on campus, partly prompting the calls for police intervention.

Shouldn’t we always strive to a state of betterment? Our country can always improve, just like every other country. I can be proud of my country while also being able to criticize it. American ideals are all about standing for what you believe in the face of defiance, standing for freedom and justice. It’s disgraceful to the men and women who fought for this country if we just stand down and say “well we are not as bad as they are” instead of working for something better. The United States is a great nation but shutting down peaceful protest goes against everything this nation stands for

The situation in Palestine has been going on since 1948, which is when the "Nakba" began. Which, for context, was the western-sponsored forced relocation, or just straight killing, of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians by the State of Israel. This is not a new event. This has been ongoing for almost 4 generations.

Nobody cares about protests but you obviously cant set up encampments and universities have the right to enforce the rules. Nobody cares if they protest just do it somewhere else where you have a permit to do so and dont impede on others rights it’s not that hard. And there is a heavy military presence cause there are school shootings each year. This isn't trespassing, Ohio State University is a public state university, the lawns are public property that anyone in the community can walk on. I don't understand how they think these arrests are justifiable.
