Lti doesn't give you anything more then shi for replacing the ship.. lti just doesn't expire.. other then that it acts exactly the same as regular hull insurance.
YES I think you worded that perfect and FOMO comes into it too if they had gave the none warbond ALTS LTI and people could have used credit ( melted a ship) it wouldn't have been so bad, so does this show that CIG are starting to find it hard to fund what they have ?
In all fairness, a pistol sized tractor beam shouldn't be able to move a spaceship, or huge amounts of cargo. Especially with 4-5 sized tractors always being a planned thing. I dont mind them nerfing the hand tractors, they needed to be overly efficient at first so they could test the mechanic and get people using them while there was only one option. Now that there's many options for tractors, it makes sense to start making effectiveness categories. That said, $40 is a lot for what it is. Also, Spectrum is always a cess pit.
Of course it's a cash grab. Typical, create a problem, sell a solution. I feel with the development issues , lack of working game loops, lack of interest ( friends list of 430, none playing ) Games done, rats will start jumping ship, just wait and see
My thoughts are that they are trying to get people to play together, and get people used to doing so for larger missions. It's actually rather clever, requiring teamwork for larger boxes. They HAVE said, especially with regards to missions, that while they do want people to be able to play alone, that some things will not be doable solo. The recent XT missions are a good example of that, the one that you had to enable the comm array and then defend it from attackers was not doable solo once you got to the third part (or at least, I know I couldn't do it because I couldn't kill the bad guys fast enough, and I was only on part 3 of 5). So, I think I'm okay with the tractor beam multitool and rifle nerfs.
I will say, I do think they should not have sold it for as much as they did. The PTV (with 10 year insurance) was on sale last year for $10. It's a two-seater golf-cart. The ATLS is a single seat tractor beam suit that isn't even very fast. The warbond for it WAS $35 DOLLARS! And you could not buy more than one standard warbond (+1 concierge warbond) per purchase, but you COULD purchase multiple standard ATLSes (up to 5) per purchase. So not only could you not buy multiple cheaper versions, but if you wanted more than 1 (or two if you're concierge), you had to buy the non-LTI version. It was very cash-grabby of them. I still bought 3 warbond versions (had to make two-separate purchases) (one with the concierge paint and two without), because I want to support development, but it just seemed like they didn't want people using them as cheap LTI tokens or something, and just wanted as much money out of them as possible.
It's scummy tactics for sure. Tractor beams were nerfed to the ground just few weeks ago. Hauling is introduced to the game and magic wand just appears, here you go, for 45€ you can teleport stuff around. It's an insult to peoples intelligence, Blizzard level bullshit.
I'm ok with tractors being nerfed for the sake o variety and make logic of weight lifting, but I'm not ok with them using this as an excuse to grab money.
Me and a few of my friends were taking guesses at how much the ATLS was going to cost and we were using the pulse as a reference and we were way off, I'm all for supporting the game but this was just a gut punch to lots of people, I mean I just used a little bit of store credit to grab mine and mess around with it for a little bit but it's over priced imo.
I'll probably be fine with tractor beams as long as I can still pick up downed players with the little ones. I do rescues, and being able to pluck a downed player out of danger is insanely useful. I'm even fine with a nerf to the med gun. That thing nearly invalidates beds. Things need to be pushed around in most fields as the game branches. Before anyone says it though, the $40 price was stupid. They would've been fine at like $5-10.

@Montross I feel the same way. I‘ll be checking on the game when the Polaris drops and again when (or if) we have a stable server meshing experience - whenever that will be. Until then, it‘s healthier to enjoy other games for me. Take a break, you can always come back later when things feel better :)
I did after 317 I'm thinking about coming back. Go ahead and give it some down time it makes the comeback so much better. Nothing wrong with a year or two off. 3 things in life are promised.. Death... Taxes.. And star citizen development
I tend to try it out every few updates to see how things are feeling. It's not a full game yet, so it's not like I'm going to put serious effort or time into it. Things will get interesting with permanence, territory, reputation, and lots of players.
Your telling me that in a futuristic game where we have space ships that there's not a way to transfer all your cargo all at once from one place to another, without doing it manually. Then to block the solution of stacking your cargo manually with a paywall instead of progression is dirty pool mister, dirty pool.
Next they‘ll sell a forklift that can teleport TWO crates at once for a hundred bucks (each end of the dual-fork shoots out an individual tractor beam) Thereafter they‘ll sell a cargo lorry that can scoop up a whole 6x4 scu stillage of crates at once, for two-hundred and eighty bucks (the stillage doesn‘t actually work, it just shoots out as many tractor beams as needed) After all, why shouldn‘t they create problems and sell solutions? Why shouldn’t they milk those soft and succulent gamer wallets. CIG should honestly remove the builtin oxygen reserves from undersuits and sell pressurized air bottles for fifty bucks pledge store only, forty-nine fifty-five warbond.
I know they wanted "immersion" but moving around boxes just doesn't sound like fun! I honestly don't know why CIG didn't take SOME inspiration from established games... Like Elite Dangerous and World of Warcraft! No need to deal directly with cargo... No need to carry around loot boxes! And rather than spend time, energy and money on these mundane features... Use those gains to create REAL immersion elsewhere! Immersion which would actually be FUN! Seriously... I don't get it! Other notable wastes of time... Are eating and drinking mechanics! I mean sure... It looks impressive but, after the umpteenth time??? Anyway... I could go on and on! This game sure has a LOT of superfluous crap in it!!
@@sdwone I can kinda see it. Loading all the boxes yourself adds value to them. You spent a half hour loading your ship, so you're probably going to be more defensive of it. Also, if someone tries to steal it, the'yr going to have to load and unload it. This could make a large shipment only worth the investment to you. But with all of this sim stuff, they're forgetting what made games like privateer fun. It was the adventure. Stacking boxes is not an adventure.
its not nasty and here is why. Absolutely nothing that CIG Is doing is hidden, they are just continually developing the game as has been laid out for years in advance. We always knew cargo was going to be a thing and physicalized, we always knew the resource system was coming as well as damage system and all of it We know CIG monetizes by selling ships, we also know that after an initial buy period you can buy it in-game. this is how the game is funded and nothing is a secret, the game is molding into place slowly, eventually literally everything will be buyable for your in game ships, hangers, habs, bases etc, {game isn't ready for that yet} and of course people will complain about it all instead of just not interacting with it, but that has always been the plan people always complain, not understanding what open developments means, it means EVERYTHING in game now will change or be rebalanced cause this version of the game is just a placeholder.
All ship sales get split between chris roberts, his brother and his wife, then what ever is left over is split between the ptu and then sq42 so basically none of the money people spend on ships to quote on quote support the game actually go to supporting the game 25% goes to the gaming company 75% a majority of the money goes to three people, CIG had a audit done and you can see this publicly, so CIG is ruining low on money that is why they created the very problem and then sell you the solution, its similar to a gambling addiction for many do not fall prey to this scam.
it is a cash grab. it costs just as much as a base starter ship. My Cutter only cost me 40 dollars. the ATLS isn't worth the price of an entire ship. I'd buy it for 10 dollars, but not 35
Buying anything while the company does not deliver is stupid! Buying and expecting it will work one day is dumb. And there are many stupid's and dumb's around! How can you pay and ask to be better? You should buy when is good! Support excuse did not expire already? How many years still? Another 12? 20? 30? 50? OK. Now let's be serious and let's buy ATLS and keep some money aside for ZEUS! LOL
Why are people upset about the crowdfunding model of a completely crowedfunded project and call out paywalls when everything is available in game. Especially when EVERYTHING is available when it really matters. And that is when the game gets into RELEASE state, not the current alpha state we are in. All people crying out wanting things NAOW need to understand what SC is and that NOTHING you do currently matters at all, beside help testing and building the game that is being made. If you think that stuff has any meaning right now, you will be surprised by the full wipe that will happen at one time only leaving you with what you had in you accounts hangar, including the ingame money there. So nothing you get in game while stay forever just yet. And yes.... they will nerf the hand held tractor beams as they always planned to. Probably with that patch that makes the ATLS available ingame for aUEC. This overinflated drama by the few hundreds of backers that fon't understand much of anything is not a CIG problem. The game has over 5.3 million accounts and over 1.3 million INDIVIDUAL backers (actual people). So if you think 700 people crying about MM or the "paywalled ATLS" is going to do much, you are in for a rude reality check.
player are funny about paying for the atle CIG is in the business of making money not giving stuff away for free you you dont want to buy wait for it to come out in the game
Heaven forbid the developers feed their families. You will be able to buy the ATLS with aUEC in Jan. The tractor beams worked as they did in tier 0 as they did not have the ship tractor beams or the ATLS in game yet. With 3.24 they have adjusted these mechanics to work as intended. This theory that CIG just nurfed the hand held tractor beams to sell the ATLS is ridiculous. This is how these mechanics were designed to work, at least at this point. Do you really think you should be able to tractor a 32SCU container with the multitool? There will likely be further changes as they balance the game. I know it is an old argument, but it is true, THIS IS AN ALPHA!
The PVE community has been told for years that we need to get escorts (friends) to help with game loops so i will offer the same advice. The argument being made against ATLS is that you NEED it but this is not true at all.. YOU can "Team lift" cargo with a friend or use a ship tractor beam if it is present, so no the ATLS is not a "Requirement". Further I would imagine it will be purchaseable in game eventually like all new vehicles. Do I think its a shit funding model? Yes.. I believe it and all small vehicles SHOULD have gone straight into the game with only skins available in the shop, but lets at least not make up silly arguments that just don't hold up to the truth. That doesn't help any of us and just gives CIG something to point at and ignore the community feedback.
This doesn't bother me at all. CIG needs money to finish the game and they sell ships to fund this game. I'm fine with it ... i'm happy to give them $35 for an LTI token.
What are you talking about? This is not simply supporting the development of the game, this is borderline pay 2 win, all other cargo transporting solutions are terrible or straight up broken. It’s not only the price, it’s the way the introduced it…
Rebalance was a common sense adjustment, puts TB's in context and Cash Grab is usually a wimper from the ''something for nothing'' brigade, CIG have nothing to apologise. And CIG don't PROMIISE anything, you should know better than that, its always a best guess, prediction or coming off the road map. Rebalancing is the life blood of this game, far to many COD plonkers wanting everything OP, not happening. Common sense seems to escape some of these people, they put nearly nothing into the game, yet expect all the benefits for free, a bit of forward thinking, investment and you can have it all....i do. PS: there going to luv the Zeus price increase, something else to moan about
3:25 isn't there a second cargo elevator on the other side of the hangar? I don't think you need to reverse park.
there are two
yes use the rear hangar
You know there is a freight lift both ends of the hanger ??? You don't need to back in the hanger!

@@Leptospirosipledging is what funds the game. You have it the wrong way around 🤣 . You need to be thankful that people are buying this stuff and less salty.
I went for the salty taste, lti made sense as ships blownup if u look at them wrong.
Lti doesn't give you anything more then shi for replacing the ship.. lti just doesn't expire.. other then that it acts exactly the same as regular hull insurance.
YES I think you worded that perfect and FOMO comes into it too if they had gave the none warbond ALTS LTI and people could have used credit ( melted a ship) it wouldn't have been so bad,
so does this show that CIG are starting to find it hard to fund what they have ?
The solution won’t be available to buy or rent in game for 3 months
Good
I believe the ATLS is more expensive because it has more functionality they have not finished adding to it. The left arm has to have some use.
Cool, so I'll pay 15 quid now and the rest when the left arm will be worth another 15! 👍
Cool! Then I'll give CIG the rest when the left arm will be worth 15 more! 🫰
@@Leptospirosi lol. Hey dont kill the messenger. I agree - a bit of an overreach by CIG with the ATLS
I feel with the development issues , lack of working game loops, lack of interest ( friends list of 430, none playing )
Games done, rats will start jumping ship, just wait and see
Of course, you are wrong.
Mission per mission you may get more rep for one mission but rep is tons faster doing the planetary missions just because you can do 5 at a time
Cant you just earn the the atls in the game eventually?
Yup
I'm just tired of the game, even close to call it quit's
I REALLY feel for you guys... I Really do! A neutral bystander here... Who's been watching this game for quite a while... And when I saw highlights of last year's CitizenCon, even I got excited!!! And shared some footage with some of my friends!
But WOW! That all feels sooo... Distant now doesn't it!!? ☹️
Bye montrose 😊
I tend to try it out every few updates to see how things are feeling. It's not a full game yet, so it's not like I'm going to put serious effort or time into it. Things will get interesting with permanence, territory, reputation, and lots of players.
If a had hull ships( a to e ) i would use atls to load/unload them, that could be nice
Your telling me that in a futuristic game where we have space ships that there's not a way to transfer all your cargo all at once from one place to another, without doing it manually. Then to block the solution of stacking your cargo manually with a paywall instead of progression is dirty pool mister, dirty pool.
Next they‘ll sell a forklift that can teleport TWO crates at once for a hundred bucks (each end of the dual-fork shoots out an individual tractor beam)
Thereafter they‘ll sell a cargo lorry that can scoop up a whole 6x4 scu stillage of crates at once, for two-hundred and eighty bucks (the stillage doesn‘t actually work, it just shoots out as many tractor beams as needed)
After all, why shouldn‘t they create problems and sell solutions?
@@sdwone You should try a game called "Sailwind" if you think the cargo handling in this game is slow...
Boo hoo. It's not fair...gimme a break 😂
A great fix would be making everyone’s purchase a 2 ATLS package
why would they?
They should just make it to where it can move vehicles as well
its not nasty and here is why.
Absolutely nothing that CIG Is doing is hidden, they are just continually developing the game as has been laid out for years in advance.
We always knew cargo was going to be a thing and physicalized, we always knew the resource system was coming as well as damage system and all of it
We know CIG monetizes by selling ships, we also know that after an initial buy period you can buy it in-game. this is how the game is funded and nothing is a secret, the game is molding into place slowly, eventually literally everything will be buyable for your in game ships, hangers, habs, bases etc, {game isn't ready for that yet} and of course people will complain about it all instead of just not interacting with it, but that has always been the plan
people always complain, not understanding what open developments means, it means EVERYTHING in game now will change or be rebalanced cause this version of the game is just a placeholder.
I'd buy it for 10 dollars, but not 35
You don't need the Atls to load or unload a cutter 😂
or you could use the hand held with a game pad... pull the trigger move the box with the thumb stick.. why would anyone ever have used a mouse....
Gamepads are for Noobs😂
Really want to love the Atlas, but I can't get past how it always has a box blocking your view. Poor design.
LOL
Oh wow, seeing the atlas in action finally. It looks so dumb.
Atls is so limited that even ready to pledge $15 was already overpriced
I'm under the impression that if I don't have an ATLS, it's pointless to play cargo missions.
So I just don't play at all 😂
Then why are you here?🤣
This doesn't bother me at all.
It’s not only the price, it’s the way the introduced it…
I paid 40.00 just for the hell of it. And love this ATLS.
Cheers for making it easy to unsub.
like i keep saying the marketing team is getting out of hanbd bro really might jeopardize the project i feel with false advert lawsuits
Good luck with that 😂
Good luck with that 😂
Rebalance was a common sense adjustment, puts TB's in context and Cash Grab is usually a wimper from the ''something for nothing'' brigade, CIG have nothing to apologise. PS: there going to luv the Zeus price increase, something else to moan about
I’m just so tired of these haters always complaining the price is fine
