- In this video, I share my personal experience of taking SAMe for 1 year. As someone who has struggled with depression and anxiety, I wanted to document and share the effects of this natural supplement on my mental health.
SAMe, or s-adenosyl-l-methionine, has been known to have positive effects on mood and overall well-being. From dosage to side effects, I'll discuss everything I've learned from my year-long journey with SAMe. If you're curious about this supplement or looking for natural ways to improve your mental health, then this video is for you!

I use to have really bad anxiety where I had restless legs and could not stay seated on an airline, which is so dangerous. I follow Dr. Eric Berg and he mentioned that vitamin B1 got rid of his restless legs. I tried it and the effect was really amazing. I now take Benfotiamine daily.
I appreciate this video so much man. Hard to come by much information on SaMe. I enjoyed watching your video all the way through. I started taking it a week ago as someone whose never really taken a supplement like this but have needed one for a long time, for feelings of anxiety, depression, low energy levels etc. I have only had a good experience thus far, boost in energy, productivity as well as not feeling as overly sensitive or influenced by sensory stimuli which seems to be helpful. It seems to be the boost I needed thus far. Great resourceful informative video man, well done. Dropped a sub, keep it up.
Thanks so much for this comment! I appreciate it a lot. My experience with SAMe sounds pretty similar to yours. Its good stuff and more people need to know about it. Thanks for the sub! More content coming soon.
It's very important to take the methylated forms of B6,B9,and B12 while taking sam-e. Thanks for sharing your experience with sam-e 🙂
I take 400mg of SAMe daily with vitamin B6, B12 and folate. Just started taking it about a week ago.
Thank you for sharing your experience! It's always helpful to hear how others are benefiting from certain supplements. I'm guessing it's working pretty well for you then?
You're actually supposed to take 800-1600 mg per day for Depression. I started at 400 and went to 800. If you can't sleep take melatonin, or listen to meditation.
“Listen” to meditation?
SAM-e is available without prescription in the EU. On Amazon, Naturitas and serious health food shops.
Maybe it is in the UK that a prescription is needed to buy SAM-e. Else the information you gave about the EU is wrong. I bought the 400 mg strength from multiple EU vendors.
Thanks for the updated information. That's nice to know that it's actually easier to get in most of the EU.
I can confirm that in Spain you can get it online from iHerb, Life Extension, Amazon… 👍🏻
Hey man, I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate you! This video has been really helpful for me, and I will definitely check out more of your videos. I love hearing people's person experiences, no matter what that is. I'm glad you're feeling better buddy, keep up the good work!
Thank you as always for helping. I really appreciate you.
My pleasure! Have you ever looked into this one before?
I take Az***dus brand. I don't work for the company. 800mg 2x a day without food. I take it for my joints and for mood/anxiety. This has REALLY helped me. It's even helped my sleep! Highly recommend!
I really appreciate this video. I just watched one on this topic with very little detail and it was all just warnings of the dangers of taking it and that is frustrating.
Your support means a lot! I'll make sure to keep creating informative and detailed content for you. It can be frustrating when other creators take a hopeless perspective on certain treatments.
Thank you for the excellent video!
Thanks for sharing! I am also on prozac and want to try adding a little SAMe.
You shouldn‘t antidepressiva with SAMe without asking your doctor it can make the serotonin syndrome
Thank you for sharing your experiences...I like Life Extension. They're energetically coated & a very good supplement company.
What about TMG with sam e do you have any idea
Move to Arizona! We have lots of sun! I use to live in western Washington state and the weather there is very depressing. I have to have sun!
Arizona sounds amazing! I need that sun in my life too! I've often thought about living there.
If u cant take methylated b vitamins and want to take sam-e, will taking sam-e with folinic acid and hydroxycobalamin still help reduce homocysteine and peevent any elevation of it by same-e?
I reduced homocysteine from 18 to 10 in approx two months, with SAM-e and methylated B vitamins. Was not aware of the anti- depression properties. Also take Choline, to reduce homocysteine quickly.
I want to use sam-e for anxiety . What dosage is good for moderate anxiety ? Does it increase anxiety ? What is your recommendation
I would start low at 200mg and then work up slowly over weeks. Move up to 400mg after 3 weeks and so on. Do this until you either have bad side effects or get relief from your anxiety.
Undermethylators are intolerant to folate. Look up Dr. William Walsh's work on brain biochemistry
Have you had your Vitamin D levels tested? Low Vitamin D is associated with seasonal effective disorder.
Did you get any stomach upset with this brand?
Occasional diarrhea and gas, but some immodium clears it up for me. No stomach problems though 👍🏼
I'm on day 11 of 1600mg and I can't feel anything. Might it start to work soon or does this mean it doesn't work on me??? I don't want to buy any more unless I know it's going to work, because it's ridiculously expensive.
That is a pretty hefty dose. I would recommend adding an L-methylfolate supplement as well before quitting. SAMe catalyzes the reaction but if you don't have the proper building materials for the reaction to occur, it's not going to help you. I've done a video on L-methylfolate here: ua-cam.com/video/YLGp2lrcH2Y/v-deo.html
Can Sam e raise blood pressure?
It did to me. I read somewhere that potassium will balance it out. Like drinking coconut water if the sam-e raises it.
Have you heard anyone who took this while breast feeding
How much you cost? Say your price
Please do not take this shit, if you are not diagnosed with depression. This is truly one of the most terrifying supplements I’ve ever tried.
How so?
Why ?
I read SAMe can trigger mania in people who are bi-polar... so that could cause a nightmarish experience...
Why
@@Kesmeseker122 I didn't take this, but when I took GABA it really messed me up for like 2 weeks. Felt really really off mentally. There was like a delay in my visual perception. Hard to articulate. The best thing for depression/anxiety isn't supps like these. Best thing is working out and taking stuff like ashwagandha and l-theanine. Also, I use nicotine pouches which helps too. Neuro enhancer, but just don't want to overdo them.
