But in Nigeria healthcare structure is wrong. There are very few primary health care centres that are maned properly. You have thousands of microbiologist, biochemists med lab scientists etc working in the bank or as teachers or as farmers. These people can be easily trained to work under a doctors supervision with proper etiquette, ethics and facilities to handle basic recurring health care issues. In conjunction with nurses and doctors the health care challenge can be rescued and the workers given indentures to work and stay

Being A Doctor in Nigeria isnt easy. When i was sent back to stay in Nigeria for 10 months as a teenager, often i would see patients begging at the door of my Uncles house after coming back home at night after a full days work. He would often get upset and say that this was the last time he would work after his shift but we all knew that it wouldn't be long when another day would call for him to work after his shift from malaria stricken and sick people knocking on his gate crying for his assistance. God Bless the Doctors of Nigeria, they are doing God's work

I have an African doctor. I've wondered since meeting her how she manages to turn 24hrs into 48. She was at the hospital first thing in the morning, sitting on the end of my bed at 10 pm, accepting emergency calls at 1am, and checking on me at 4am. She stays after hours to accommodate my situation, and still runs a clinic that is always full. People genuinely love her. If she only knew how much I appreciate and admire her. ❤❤❤ My favorite nurse was a Nigerian, and she offered care that was next level. They are amazing. I wish I could honor them with an opportunity to rest.

I spoke to a young man from Nigeria for a few months. The conditions of their lives were terrible. They still went to church and had Faith in Jesus to heal them. I regret not being able to do more.
I would adopt so many children from Africa if I could.
The Government is corrupt! Honestly, I believe the people need our help. I don’t have all the answers, but I KNOW we be doing more!
I watched as this little baby passed away from fluid building up on his Kinsey’s, into his stomach. It’s was brutal. I did what I could but the hospitals want cash 💰
They don’t treat you for free, and from what I understand, Medical Insurance is NON Existent!
Have you ever seen a Nigerian woman marry an American man? It’s the most beautiful thing in the world! She bows at the wedding and kisses his feet!
She will treat that man like a King 👑 everyday of his life.
I am a woman saying this.
I keep that in mind EVERY Day! I am VERY blessed with my husband. He doesn’t hit us, he works 100+ hours a week, he NEVER complains. He makes sure I rest on the weekends to I can be on point during the week for our children.

This causes people to move based on fake social media videos where people are acting like they are rich instead of doing research on the places they are moving. There are many places in America, for example that are not open to people of certain lifestyles and backgrounds so you may experience racial or religious discrimination that will be a barrier you may not have to face in other places. Transportation is another issue, economy systems based on credits where it is very hard to establish yourself without a connection, legal issues - how do these destinations treat migrants? There's no one whether obi or atiku can wade a magic wand without people facing it as it is now. Politicians will always lie to people so as to be favorites if there's another chance of election. A country with insecurity since the time of obasanjo, a country where banks and bureau de change operators make over 250 to 300 on a dollar because dollar was pegged to 400 naira in the last administration as well as previous, country with no accountability, a country whose local consumption depends on importation for finished products and raw materials, a country with serious ethnic and religious divides. Pray to never be one of those people who are asked to leave which ever country they’re living. When this happens you’ll realize that every great country’s citizens made some sacrifices to make it great not only for them but for the next generation. The generation before you made the same sacrifice but what are the young Nigerians doing to change the horrible conditions in the country? No one respects anyone who will not clean his home but wants to spend all his time in the cleaned home of another.

They feel we should be ready to answer d call anytime 24/7. And painful part is I can't even use that money to school more than one kid in a good private facility, am talking Abt private secondary school. No average Dr will date think of a private university for their kids. D suffer too much mehn for d amount being paid. In my state no promotion in 5yrs. 😅 This lady is being delusional.... sorry to say. People are not running away because of "money" people are trying to survive. People's youthful years are going to waste because of the system and in the case of doctors, they were being paid a pittance and still owed those meager salaries and allowances. In abroad everything is well sequestered and your salary comes on the appointed date, its automatic and non-negotiable. one of nigeria's minister at a point encouraged some doctors to go and learn how to sew clothes... I rest my case 😅😊

What you said (pittance, salaries, allowances) all comes down to money. Nigerians are not starving, so to say they are just trying to "survive" is hyperbole. Places like the DRC, Libya and somalia have greater crisis than Nigerians.

It takes minimum of 7 years to be a doctor in Nigeria. You study under duress and stress, with minimal equipment and an unstable educational system, parents have suffered through their teeth to see you through school and if you're lucky enough you don't get failed by mean lecturers. Everyone wants a better life, so if they have a shot at it, why not.
If you know Nigeria well, you'll know that no matter how much the citizens express themselves, the political leaders turn deaf ears. Citizens of Nigeria have realised this and it's best they leave for a while when they still can.

So doctors should go and farm? You come back and farm na as the abroad de take your strength. Like you don't see what the government is doing. It's nit like Nigeria is a poor country but some people just feel they and their family members alone are entitled to a whole nation's wealth. And people who have struggled through school that wasn't free education, through strikes, should not see better opportunity and "japa" abi? They should spend their youthful strength working in a country that isn't paying rather than go spend it where it is used but paid...right? Very brilliant. Please come and help us farm. And maybe be a doctor too.

Doctors are also humans and what she says is either naive or purposefully guilt tripping doctors. It's blaming the wrong people because I'm quite sure that health care in Nigeria would be a lot better if the money that was meant to improve education and the economy wouldn't end up in the hand of their politicians. However, it's probably a lot harder to criticise people who really have the power to change things.

You can find purpose without slavery. I found another way of helping people and I value those who are still there because the conditions and SALARY are far from fair.
I got promoted to a managerial position managing a full department and my salary remained the same. 50k. Yet I was moved to a different branch farther from my house eating 30k out of that in transportation because of so called promotion. Why will I stay in a field like that? Even government workers face the same things. So let them leave. Whoever feels otherwise can go study for 8years and come back to tell me 150k monthly after 8years of insane lecturers is worth it. Thank you.
