Alistair Humphreys talks about this concept "Microadventures" which means using 5pm to 9am to do this: camp, cook, and get outside. No big planning, just get out and do it!! Check out his stuff, he has some good challenges.

Thanks for the little philosophical vlog Ellie. In a few minutes you say so many things relevant to our lives. I only got into wild camoing a year ago and there's a wonderful feeling of peace it brings. Speaking of goals, im a sad summit bagger so the camping complements that nicely, particularly as it involves long drives across the country and now that i camp it makes the outdoor experience a much more relaxed one (assuming it isnt tipping it down like last Saturday night overlooking Lough Allen).

@@ToughSoles Oh also funny story about your recent new subscriber, as you know Carl's mission in life has always been to beat me in quite literally anything that exists and has a scoring mechanism 😂 so when you guys started out your channel years ago I received a message one day showing a screenshot of your subscriber numbers, just one over my 400 and something at the time. Quick unsubscribe, and screenshot back sorted that one out for the next day or two anyway 😂. While writing the above comment I noticed I had never resubscribed, my apologies. You would swear we were brothers trying to up one another, though to be honest we kinda are brothers.

I find a consistent watch on vitamin b levels reflects in my drive to achieve my dreams . Also dreams are a singular thing , personal , so expecting assistance or help is something you can learn not to have and still be quiet happy .
The happiness is when you when you realise the dream .

Ellie, a lovely goal to set at the start of the year (whatever the number of camps) to reconnect with something that is so beautiful. I love 'building my own adventure' which can be whatever you want it to be, as grand or as simple, as long or as short 👍

Nice one! I am watching this while laying in my hammock after a night outside. I try to get 2 nights out per month, nothing spectacular and no great distances hiked. Just being out is the thing. The hardest part is deciding, packing and THEN stepping out the door. After that, the hard work is done 😊

I’ve yet to try Hammock camping! It looks like great fun 😄 and exactly, once your one the door, it’s easy! Might take the “two nights a month” philosophy for myself 😁
It is a blast and a decent hammock system can be got for about 100e. Of course, you can spend more but the threshold is quite low to start, which is great. You can even get hammocks that can be used on the ground as a mini-tent or bivvy. Handy when camping in treeless places. Not really a problem here in Finland but 🤣

Thanks for your concern! I have used this stove for many years and feel quite comfortable with it, and it was further from the tent than it looked in the shot. I hope you didn’t burn yourself too badly when it happened to you! You’re right safety is very important
