As a watch collector and enthusiast myself (since about 2000 and started with the purchase of the 1st gen Seiko Black Monster), I'd have to say that you have a fine collection! The nice thing about collecting watches is that it is a subjective hobby...no two collections are alike. It's not about what others think at the end of the day! As long as you enjoy the pieces you have, that's really all that matters! Cheers!
Awesome collection, I would keep them all as they all mean something to you, I am not on your level in numbers but been collecting Tissot and vintage rado watches a while, currently have 35 over 2 years ansd wll never part with any, also have a large number of Ali homage watches and a few modern Hamiltons..If I buy I keep as I bought for a reason, Its not about the money or value, its like art, subjective and I love every one of them
Really appreciate your content, man. In terms of culling - I don't have any really pricey pieces so whenever I think about selling something off, I always back down. Wouldn't bring much, in most cases. I also really appreciate you being serious about the lower price end. Best to you, and happy new year!
Great collection and to down size that. Gonna take time maybe one at a time. I have 21 watches and yeah it’s difficult it has a special in our lives that brings us joy.
really good collection, i think you said it best when you compared the breitling and the aliexpress watch. I have a seiko steelmaster that was 600 euros and I also have the Laco augsburg with the miyota movement and the cheaper miyota movement keeps much better time.
Love your state of collection! I’m a watch collector and enthusiast! I love the Seikos you have especially the Grand Seiko, Sary 55 and 57 are my grail watches including a Tudor black bay! Anyways, you sparked my interest to go back into my watch box and take out and wear some of my older seikos, my Ali express watches, the Vostok amphibian and others! Thanks mate, writing to you from New Jersey, USA…new subscriber here!
Very nice collection! For me the "dress seiko", grand seiko, king seiko, and the similar "modern" seiko 5 you have would all be duplicates. I like the look of all of them and I do of course see the differences, but they are all too similar for me to have kept them.
Interesting. I'm actually making changes along these lines already as I feel the same. The Collection will end up more balanced as a result. I feel different about the King Seiko. I feel it has enough individuality to stand alone, but certainly those others duplicate
I'd say double that collection, if you are happy but it's up to you. At the end of the day you only have two arms. I've seen some negative comments but I think you've got a great collection. Don't feel bad or feel the need to explain away some of the cheaper watches, they are what you like personally so don't feel bullied by the horology snobs. You clearly seem to get on well with Seiko. I'm more of a dress watch person myself, and I'm not a movement snob so I have quite a bit of quartz in my collection. It's cool not to see Casio in the mix. I've only got one analogue Casio myself. The best watch in my collection is my Farer Mansfield, it's a manual wind cushion case, very comfy but the leather strap it came with was so soft I wore through it in a few months so I replaced with something far more comfortable and durable. Best of luck with 2024 collecting!
Hey thanks for that. I very much think downsizing is unlikely. There's so many that appeal. Strange you mention quartz, I've been looking at old seamaster quartz ( great metal movement) and also the yema chronographs that use a meta quartz with sweeping second hand. Bulova Jetvstar is also a quartz
Hello from the north of Italy, I have the same zodiac and I absolutely love it! I was also looking for some hmt, because not many people collect them. They are cheap and probably not really well made, but when I see them on ebay I really love the design. The only problem is that it's difficult to know wich models are original from the factory. As far as I know most of the watches that come from India are modified aftermarket.
Great collection - I particularly like the Glycine Airman and the Zodiac. Might be an idea to consolidate into a couple of higher-spec watches, perhaps a vintage dress watch such as a 50/60s Omega or Longines. Thanks for making these videos and all the best for the new year.
Interesting that. I'm along similar thinking lines with those you mention. The Zodiac a keeper and I've been getting a few vintage. I doubt I'd ever drop below 18 or so. Thanks
Probably depends what you wear, I would consider keeping like 10 watches ,all citizens are great, komandirskies are nice, Seikos kinda overlap a bit. A lot of cheapies so I dunno is it worth to sell it, unless you want to giveaway them , maybe just dump it in a separate shoebox. Probably a good idea to save for sth like nomos or cristopher ward.
By the way whats your impression between something like Grand Seiko and lower tier watches, is there a markable difference between the tiers ?@@perfectwrist23
Grand Seiko are better finished, but at a level not necessary for most people's enjoyment. King Seiko are a great option for the unique appearance, higher level finishes and at a more affordable price. You can pay £115 for a Seiko 5 and find it excellent
yes I am doing a video this week about that very thing. Grand Seiko are exceptional in their finish and execution.......however that doesnt always translate to keen wearability@@Cortesevasive
Nice collection Paul. Did you purchase your Seiko Sary's when they were still relatively affordable? Too bad you don't wear the Grand Seiko enough. Today I just received my second GS (SGBX261). Also with a 9F quartz movement. I also like your Baltic (aquascaphe?) very much. And yes..... I know, it's not easy to keep your collection limited. Thanks for all the reviews over the past year. See you next year.
Well, this is the great debate isn't it. One luxury watch for $10,000 or thirty five affordable watches. Like you, I chose the thirty five. Thirty six to be accurate but who's counting. I'm very happy with my decision and the watches in my collection.
@perfectwrist23 I just received my latest addition to the collection, a limited edition Cronos Submariner homage with a beautiful meteorite dial. A watch Rolex doesn't make by the way. I'm extremely happy with it.
You have a problem… it is called addiction. The maximum number of watches for an addict should not be more than 7. For a watch enthusiasts, 3 watches are perfect. I implore you to start healing. Good luck.
First thing is NOT buying any more watches. Than consolidate a year or two. And start selling stuff. Most of these are just fillers. Keep the og Monster, the Grand Seiko and the Zodiac. The rest can go.
The great thing about watch collecting is its such a personal journey. I wouldn't have an over hyped over priced Rolex when there are so many alternatives . Do Nothing for me. Panerai and Omega hold some appeal..but there'd be no channel with one watch. Thanks tho
@@perfectwrist23 Let's examine your over-hyped, over priced comment. If you spent a year or two on a waiting list, you could get your Sub or Explorer and it will NEVER be worth less than you paid. By spending 10K on your 'Personal Journey', you have easily torched 6 or 7K that you cannot EVER hope to see again. The difference in your daily life is that when you look down to see the shite strapped to your wrist on any particular day could have been a design classic. Sorry. If someone wants to blow 2K on an array of crappy watches, then fine - live your best life. But when it becomes 10K - you've made a real mistake, in my not so humble opinion.
Good feedback. I live for more than the money these days. I will be looking up the ladder at some point though.....but only when distressed sellers flood the market or boutiques created in the boom sadly close....a year or two
@@perfectwrist23 Fair enough, man. But I wouldn't be holding my breath for that eventuality 😉 Also, I do get that you can't have a channel with one watch, so fine.
In your opinion. On what objective measure can you say these watches lack quality - they tell the time, have great history, are well constructed, and are classic design for the most part. Only thing lacking quality here is you my friend - and your classless comment.
Really enjoyed watching your s.o.t.c, cheers and happy new year 🥳
Thanks for sharing your collection!! Cheers from Atlantic Canada!!!
Another 6 months and there'll be another
Fantastic collection, some of the Seikos are stunners, thank you for sharing 😊
Good to hear. Will be tough to condense

Great collection. I wish you wear them in good health. Also, great way of presenting them. I usually get bored half way in these types of videos.
Thanks . Good to hear!
Great collection!, I love the Glycine Airman, always love that watch, is amazing!.
Thanks. There's been a few changes but the Glycine remains

Great collection and to down size that. Gonna take time maybe one at a time. I have 21 watches and yeah it’s difficult it has a special in our lives that brings us joy.

Thanks. They've taken over a cupboard or two, but generally very keen on each piece

Thanks for that. There's been some turnover this year, so some big changes
To me i try to stop at a certain dollar amount and operate within it,your at a good number to hold at ,nice collection
Yes I'm about there. There's been some hefty turnover so far this year, but I seem to be sticking around the number
Youve certainly got an eye for a good looking watch, or two😀
Aye.....Two too many!
Great collection 😀 seiko 5 & hmt are a must.
Good to hear!
Cheers for the Glycine Airman!
Some very nice watches. Head over to Phoibos to add a little colour, at reasonable price, to your collection as summer is on the way 🙂
Mmm. I'll check them out. Thanks for watching

Lovely collection. I can’t seem to get rid of mine, even if I don’t wear them.
Think I'm finding the same. One or two are moving. Seems to be 1 out and 3 in....which is wrong way around
Very nice variety nice video 👍
Thanks!
All power to you man. I have a 4 watch box and thats it. If I really want something, one of them has to go. It works for me 😅

They definitely have new crystals, only popping the case back can check the movements . Thanks for watching
the standouts for me are the Airman, the SSW and the Monster. I’d probably consolidate to those and big an Explorer 40 or an Explorer II or both.
Interesting. Thanks. Those 3 do get the comments, along with Breitling and Baltic. Yours would make a neat 4 watch collection

I actually had looked at the Omega Trissor dress watch, hand wind, or similar
I'd keep the King Seiko, the Breitling, Glycine, Grand Seiko, Laco, Services Watch, Seiko Arctic Editions. Consolidate everything else

That one Seiko towards the end is fake. Lemme guess, it came from India? Nice collection though!
Yep. India. One on the left or right?
