This is really such an bittersweet ending... X won, but he didn't want to fight anyone. At the end it's shown how X remembers all the mavericks and surely regrets that he had to destroy them even if there was no other way.
Agreed, the line "I will find other bodies strong enough" is a clear Mega Man X2 spoiler. What would make this a bigger spoiler is if the line read, "I will find other bodies strong enough to do my bidding, such as a centipede with magnetic powers, an ostrich with speed powers, a snail with Crystal powers, or a moth with morphing powers....."
I swear, every first main megaman game’s ending is so good. Megaman 1: Rock running home in the credits and willing to fight for peace in the future. Megaman X: Having a bitter sweet ending, with X wondering if he has to still fight on and was there an other way to avoid more death and suffering. As credits roll, X is running down the street like the first Blue Bomber. Megaman Zero: X telling Zero that all these years without him, he grew numb of fighting and now is leaving it up to Zero to sustain the peace, ending with Zero fighting an army of Neo Arcadian soldiers. Megaman ZX: Vent/Aile promising to protect the innocent and ends with them running down the street like from Megaman 1 and X1. Megaman Legends: Volnut and his gang leaving on a ship with everyone cheering them has heroes. All these endings is engraved in my memories and I cherish them a lot.
The song transmits a lot of nostalgia, megaman X had to fight a lot against the Mavericks who were his colleagues previously, he wanted to solve things differently but there was no other option but to fight; the song transmits glory and rest at the same time, Megaman X finally proved triumphant and managed to defeat the invincible Sigma =)
Who else tried and failed to get the "how long will he keep fighting?" Achievement in the x legacy collection just to realize you need to wait for the after credits.

It was VERY sad...but as an eight-year-old watching Zero commit that selfless act of sacrifice in the name of comraderie and the pursuit of the greater good, it cemented my love and respect for the entire Mega Man franchise. I was at the right age where I could even begin to understand why he would do that, and for it to be such a poignant and emotional moment for me in spite of the lack of cutscenes.
This is even more sad if you haven't upgraded your x-busters before the fight against Vile. After that fight, Zero gives you HIS busters before dying.
