This ending feels really emotional. X and Zero are finally back together and all the fighting and drama with Sigma is over. Great game and a good follow up sequel to X1.
Such a lovely melody. Isn't X just awesome? He's a selfless, bad-ass, robot assassin fighting for the greater good. Had 'em tattooed on my arm when I turned 20. :)
I have to be honest. I like Megaman x2 but is not one of my favorites. STILL. it has the most epic and badass ending of the SNES trilogy. The music is perfect and credits are beautiful. I freaking love it!

But when I beat it with no armor I was like 😮 I told my best friend to do it but didn’t tell him. He called me back like whaaaaaaaat. It was my mission after that to beat every X game with out armor except 1 and I was disappointed Capcom never brought back a secret ending . This why X2 is my favorite
It felt kinda odd that the credits here sounded VERY similar to the final boss theme, and there's a reason ... That ending theme WAS going to be the final boss theme.
X the Blue Bomber & his best pal/sidekick Zero The Red Swordsman: the 2 most badass Maverick Hunters of all time!!!! If there was ever a Maverick Hunters Hall of Fame ever created, these 2 should be the first to be inducted!!!!!!👍
You get him in the ending if you get all of zero's parts from the X hunters before reaching the sigma stages, which also skips the Zero boss fight before fighting Sigma.
You could call them angsty and hokey now, but during the time they came out, a protagonist like X in a video game was revolutionary. He wasn't a straightforward, gunho video game protagonist but a reluctant hero who disliked fighting but did so because he had no other option but to fight, and would constantly reflect upon his actions, as well as if peace between the two warring factions in his conflict was ever possible.
If you take all of Zero's parts, the Fake Zero will be destroyed by the real Zero, and the Zero boss fight will be skipped. That's also the canon route for this game, as X and Zero never fought in X2. The first (and last) fight between X and Zero is in Mega Man X5, and unlike in X2 where it's optional, in X5 it's mandatory.
