Love the older style Mighty Jig for a jig worm. It was perfect with the 3/0 hook and the wire keeper worked and needed with Z-Man elaztech plastic. A big TRD or Bang Stick....and of course a good old power worm are the go to's with the older style head. Way to wreck something that wasn't broken All Terrain!
Had one of my best winter days ever last winter on a jig worm down here in Georgia , caught 26 fish on one marine dock for an entire day best 5 went for 19.12 all spotted bass
I used to pour my own jigheads, and I always went with a hook that was larger than the mold called for. Almost always fished a 4" Mann's Jelly Worm, either red or black grape.
Great video. Love the jig worm. This may sound stupid, but any insight would be appreciated....Sometime I use a worm, sometimes its just a keitech or other thin-body swimbait. Certainly a trade-off of ease coming though grass, but the swimbait lets me mix my methods/retrieve without changing rods. Thoughts?
I like to make a medium to long cast and let it sink down to the bottom or into the grass bed. Then work the bait back with short lifts of the rod tip or snapping the bait free from the grass and let it fall back down. Much like you would work a texas rig. The beauty of the jig worm exposed hook is when you snap it free from the grass it can create a reaction bite on the fall. That, or they'll eat it while it's just sitting still on bottom or in the grass.
mainly hop it and let it fall back down to bottom or in the grass. If it's hung in the grass (which you want) then snap it free and let it fall back down creating a potential reaction strike.
All Terrain doesn't make that good version of the Mighty jig any longer. They changed the hook size and got rid of the wire style keeper. The old one is much better than their new version.

Bob's a dang hammer & @W2F brings the quality content.
He's been solid to work with. A very smart fisherman that communicates his knowledge with excellent clarity.
@@Wired2Fish - no doubt about that. Has to ease shooting footage for y'all.

Good video. Thanks for sharing. I haven't thrown a jig/worm for years. Just too many techniques. Thanks for the reminder. I will be using it soon.
Old Bob Downey…Love Em
The good ole trustworthy jig!! Good video!
Love your instructions. Can you please show on your finder how you find the spot to fish? Thanks

either will work. stick with what works for you and what you are most confident in.
Really had to throw bro under the bus for picking his wedge? 😅
So you talked about everything but the retrieve ....how am I fishing it ?

@@bsdfishing great TY for explaining that , I'm gonna have to try this technique ✌🏻
What's your favorite retrieve for deep weed lines? Hop it? Swim it along the bottom? Drag it?
Yes I’d love to hear this too

What hook is he using
Is this just a Shakey head that isn't weedless?
very similar. The technique has been around in the midwest for 30+ years. It's a deadly technique around grass edges
How many times can you say jig worm?
