@@davosam1968 There will be a pretty large difference between OLED and QLED no matter how much you calibrate them. The QLED cannot match the contrast of an OLED.
The pic quality on the TLC is actually surprisingly nice. I'd go with that over a Samsung for the same price and size. Sony can't be beat on the OLED panels, I'm glad we have options. Great Jobs you guys!
@@chriswright8074 Sony A95K is currently THE TV to beat in 2022 when it comes to picture quality. Go watch the review from the channel HDTVTest. For gaming, LG OLED still wins.
I've got a LG oled and within 3 months I had the netflix logo burned in when viewing any red screens. I'll never have another oled. Got a Sony x9000h and it shits over the oled.
Fantastic comparison tvs. Both are amazing and have their merits. I think TCL is surprisingly good when you look at the price and what you get. 98 is the size of my projector screen which makes it a proper home cinema.
I really hope to replace my projector some day. Yes this will fit in my house, but it’s still smaller than my projection screen. This TV is awesome. I can see the future, and it’s almost here. When I can have 120” for $8000 I’m in. :)
I got an 85 inch Samsung and love love love the size! A 98 inch would be ideal for eyes about 10 feet back from the tv. (The exception is 10 feet back would be too close for watching talking heads in an 20 minute interview). I think most people would love to trade off large screen size over OLED’s perfect black levels, vibrant fireworks in a dark sky & best contrast in shadows. My advice? Go big, people! TCL is my favorite brand because reliability and common sense user friendly. Glad they are making 98 inch tvs and hope the price drops over time. My friends with an awesome home theatre (ceiling mounted projector) would have loved to use this 98 inch TCL if it had been available. Why? Because Front projection screens do not have the black levels of flat panel displays because ambient light in the room (flat panel displays absorb most of the ambient light instead of scattering reflected light). Contrast & good black levels make a huge difference in the quality of the display
Jen is fitter and stronger than me. I had to lift an 85" this week and almost dropped it after holding it up (with a buddy) for 2 minutes while the wires got threaded through the cabinet.
I'm thinking about this instead of a projector and screen in a dedicated theater. It's not 120 inches or more but so much brighter. At this price point it's a real consideration.
Pro tip: If you cut into the tape a bit between the cardboard, you can just rip through the rest (except maybe the other side's edge portion) by pulling one of the cardboard flaps up.
I’m impressed that you found a table/stand wide enough for it. I have an 86” LG and it is enormous and heavy. In fact too heavy to hang on a wall as my condo used “c” channel aluminum studs on interior walls. We ended up finding a floor stand to accommodate it and I must say it’s fantastic.

Nice to see you looking at TCL TV's. I hope when the TCL C935 hits the US market you'll take a look at the 75in version. Most reviewers are likely to look at the 65in, but unlike normal TV models, the local dimming zones are drastically increased. 1080 on the 65in, 1920 on the 75in. It'd be great to hear how the 75in performs in comparison to the 65in.
I'm starting to see where 8k will become the norm. If tvs this size become common the pixel density of 8k will be much preffered. Up to 85 inch I think 4k is just fine though.

I like a 1:1 viewing distance to diameter ratio, so this would fit my room perfectly. I vane an 85" right now and I am always looking at the empty wall space around the TV and thinking there should be more TV there.
Looking directly at the 85" to 98" LCDs is a bit too big for me, but on the other hand it's tempting to see the 4k 83" and 8k 88" OLEDs on the retailer's demo floor 😂

One critical point that is always overlooked by reviewers and retailers is the importance of securing these flat panels tvs when they are placed on furniture strapped to the furniture or the wall. They can easily fall on kids, cats and dogs can tip them over. Securing is essential. I reckon there should be tv ads about this to make people aware of the dangers.
@@bison347 Grown ups can tip over onto kids during parties, cleaning etc. Accidents do happen. I have mine strapped to a hook in the wall behind. Most TVs have pre drilled holes at the back to fix straps.

Lovin' all your vids. Great info, concise and appears to be unbiased to brand or model. Love the extra humour thrown in by the wife. Hilarious. So currently doing my research and in the market for a new TV. I'm a movie nut, so plan on going big when it comes time to invest in the new purchase. I've seen your other posts on the Samsung Frame and got to see one in person (mind you it was the 43" in a lawyer's office at our firm and it was fantastic albeit the 2021 model). Was originally set on either the 75" or 85" of the Frame. Currently at our local electronics dealership, there's about a $3000 to $1500 difference between the 85" Frame and this TCL 98" model. Frame being the lesser of the two (currently on sale so it's about $3000 less, but regular price difference about $1500). I know you were mentioning in a previous post with the Frame about the issue with the HDR and blacks/near blacks not being captured visibly and as sharp with the Frame. I've always been of the mindset of never going on the cheap when it comes to big purchases that one will have around for a few years, so willing to spend a bit more to get a better quality of product. But here I'm torn, love The Frame from what I've seen and it's features. If you had a choice between these two models, which would you go for if a couple of K's wasn't as much of an issue? Is the HDR issue with the FRAME that noticeable? As mentioned, I'm a HUGE movie buff (not so much in using the TV for gaming), so that's where my purchase is coming from. Thanks for any advice/feedback you can give. ☺ Cheers and keep up the great reviews!😁😁

Oops, you did it again mate! Another giant slain and it's epic there 's finally someone putting those big, bad s*ckers to the test. I just bought a LG 77G2 to enjoy, but this is the size to get. I can't wait for the 97" OLED panels to become more affordable. I'll get one for sure. In te meantime, keep this awesome work up! The two of you rock 🤜🏻🤛🏻
You are crazy Sven lol
You can get oled in 83 inch
@@andreshamoun7423 That's still 14 inches less, which is quite a lot ;-) Just look at the comparison with the 83 A90J in this video.
I'll take a better picture over size any day.
My LG OLED 83" G2 is being delivered this week.
Wall hanging flat to the wall is very impressive by LG.
Those TV unboxing/review videos are not just nice to watch, they're quite educational. Now I know exactly what TV I'm buying next week.
Can you repair the back lights when they die in a year like my TCL did?
One critical point that is always overlooked by reviewers and retailers is the importance of securing these flat panels tvs when they are placed on furniture strapped to the furniture or the wall. They can easily fall on kids, cats and dogs can tip them over. Securing is essential. I reckon there should be tv ads about this to make people aware of the dangers.
Good point but if you have a good tv stand it’s a non issue as these tvs are quite heavy and can’t be tipped by pets or very little children.
@@bison347 Grown ups can tip over onto kids during parties, cleaning etc. Accidents do happen. I have mine strapped to a hook in the wall behind. Most TVs have pre drilled holes at the back to fix straps.
Grabbing and putting that ladder was just hilarious 🤣
Super review, class wife, thank you Brandon
Cmon man. She's so short 😆
@@BTheInstaller short yes, but very polite and kind, god bless you and your kids
@@MM-Official oh, I'm totally just playing. She's the best. Thank you.
@@BTheInstaller hehe how tall is she?
Hello Brian and Jen, well another great review on a tv, and to answer Jen question yes I can put put to a 105” tv on my wall, got a Sony 85” just now and I am waiting on the larger TV’s coming dow in price, but the tv still needs to have a good picture, but we’ll done again and more great content
Toujours aussi bien vos vidéos, mais pour moi l oled restera toujours meilleur , quand au blooming , les marques font vraiment de réels progrès !!!!!! 98 pouces c est énorme , mais si on a la place pourquoi pas !!!!!
After mounting the 85 in Samsung, I realized I had more than enough room for the 98" Samsung but couldn't justify the +$11K up charge 😂
I think my biggest gripe with TCL is it reliability reviews, the fact I don't know anyone who's owned one, and the fact that they are a new-ish entrant into the space.. I'd be interested in seeing how this TV holds up 9-12+ months down the line.
Have 3 the main one is 65 or 70 one of them to and we never had an problem 2 years the other 2 one is perfect the other is an Google instead of Roku and it lags so much for the first 15-20mins
TCL is highly regarded on Reddit. Especially the 646 series
@@randomname931 Nice. When I was reading Amazon reviews a year ago, people were complaining about ports stopped working, or audio going in and out. Maybe its gotten better with the new models.
98" TCL ... Man oh man, I'm so glad I don't have any room for this beast or I would buy one for Xmas ... I gotta get a bigger house!!!
Yes that is truly gigantic. I could watch it all day. Slow motion fast forward pause rewind eject sleep mode.
Only here because of Jenn.
I would rather get the A90J
YES! I would want it. I have a 60" and it seems small at times.I love the cinematic effect.
I have a 22' ceiling.
I have a TCL tv and the pictures quality is absolutely amazing
Don't bother with the other Brands
Bang for your Buck and the quality is mind blowing!
This is not a tv, this is a billboard
I RATHER HAVE JEN, THAN THAT DAMN TV.....
So cute her hair matches your shoes! 😂😂😂
This is bar far my favorite video with both of you guys in it. B you guys shine on camera together. Family fun
This would cover one wall of my living room completely. I have a 400 sq ft apartment with 7ft ceilings.
A whole new take on "picture window"!
For those considering, it’s made with panels that fail quality control at Samsung, same panel as QN90A, also TCLs warranty suuuucks.

@@Number1spiderfan Go through the firmware, it’ll verify. Just buy one and see ;) I bet a 98” QN90A. I’ll prove i have one sitting here even.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Proud of you guys and seeing your channel grow. Keep up the great content. Thanks B
Yes, I currently have currently have six 75 inch TV’s throughout my home and guest cottage, in my living room I have a 75 inch and it’s mounted on the same level as my fireplace so it’s not competing to be the centerpiece of the room. I most certainly am able to fit the 98’ inch in several rooms of my home.
Et tu veux une médaille pour cette surconsommation ?
Every financial goal requires patience, dedication and consistent spirit knowing that investment is currently the most lucrative business in the world, both NFT, real estate and Crypto shares are really positively changing people's lives.
I'm thinking of investing in the crypto market but taking my time to figure out how the whole thing works.

Thanks for recommending him to me earlier, he actually restored hope to me after a few months of trading on my own and losing a huge amount.
Being professional has earned. his a good name, he's obviously the best broker have seen when it comes to trading Bitcoin. Made over 1.2BTC with his signal
I have been seeing so many recommendations about Expert Donald Anderson overall social network trending. His strategy must be good for people to talk about him.
I squeezed in a 60 " LG. Maybe the TCL on the ceiling. If I wanted something that big I'd do a projector with a hidded screen. Really liked your presentation!
I just kept saying to myself “That’s what SHE said” while watching this video🤣
Yes this would definitely fit in my living room. I’d be glad to take it off your hands if you don’t have a need for it. 😁
That thing is gigantic! It makes the other one look small. L0l. Nice vid . You two are an awesome couple. Lord bless you both.
Bought a TCL 9 years ago..best tv I ever bought. I called it teenage Chinese labor
The TCl QLED is a phenomenal picture! I think its the best you get until OLED. I love mine!
The choice is simple for me, Sony Master Series OLED quality every day, every night compared to TCL! I now have a Sony 77" A9G and want to make the step to the 83" A90J 😍
I want sales man noumber
$8500 on Amazon. That's still much to high for me to replace my Sony 85". It will need to come down to closer $3000 before I'd bite. My main viewing seating is about 16' away (19.5' long room) from the TV so I could definitely make use of the extra size. Its actually funny how quickly my eyes adapted to the 85' going from a 70'. I wonder if there's any size at which that doesn't happen LOL!
It's under 5 grand now at best buy
Finally 98 inch is going mainstream…for 10000$ .in 2 Years 5000$ so affording it used 4 years old for 2500$ in finally in 2026 is amazing…
For 2500$ now you would get a fast gaming OLED Samsung S95B 55 inch which is almost only a half the size option the seller market is truly seeking money…from us…
If size matters you can get the 83 inch Samsung QN85A for 2500$ now
putting one of these in a small room, I feel like it would fit wall to wall! kinda be cool tbh
Hey man. Love this coverage. Can we get more. Something with in depth coverage of the backlight control and comparison to the Samsung QN90A?
One of the tonned bumper I ever seen !! legends are not here for watch TV ! She will thanks me later.. :)
That'll definitely fit on the wall I currently have my 86" LG on,it's a pretty big wall in my living room.
That's that gas station security camera tv🤣🤣🤣
First of all thank you for the content. the TLC is very nice. When comparing to the Sony, I find the Sony seems to have a better color palette. The TLC would be great for watching football.
My tv right now in my room is TCL QLED 65". And loving it!
A giant screen 😹. I enjoyed your unboxing. The legs are easy to install. It can fit in my new house. Bcos my new house is empty. With a good price, it will be a good buy. This TV is mind blowing!
put the Picture to "Movie" setting, gives you the nice warm picture as it is intended to be, without being over saturated
Ever seen the 110" from Bang & Olufsen?
Now THAT thing is huge...
You struggle getting it in through a normal door!
I would love that in my home. Perfect for a movie room!
Wild. 😃 The type of mounts and power this needs...I def wouldn't go cheap for a good surround sound system.
I'm currently using a 120" screen + projector setup so yes, I would have room. I wouldn't want to switch to smaller size though.
