Finally a youtuber who reads comments and is actually dedicated enough to work on em. Thanks buddy❤
I do my best, cheers mate 😁😁
Idk if you noticed this but, in r4 we usually use the brakes to tighten the line in case we're running wide... but in r5 letting go the brakes completely actually helps more in that regard. Also I noticed that in r5 if you miss the brake marker by a tiny bit there is a huge chance to completely miss the corner all together... precision is paramount! More than ever
Great video, Ride 5 is more difficult than Ride 4 but it's also more responsive and closer to real riding in my opinion. Looking forward to more guides ✌
I agree! Plenty coming soon 🔥🔥

Great video! I'm finally just getting a hang of the game and I find that it's extremely rewarding to be as gentle as possible on the pedals. I play with similar electronics settings to yours but I turn up TC a notch in the wet.
Thanks mate! Yeah that's it, be nice and smooth :D
This video has helped heaps. Im knew to ride series just getting ride 5, but ride motorcycles in real life and go to track once every 2 months.
Been struggling with the 600cc series time attack challenge.
All the races im very competitive in the game with balanced ai and intermediate settings but couldnt get the bike to stop hard enough in the time attack.
Now i know this i will turn abs off and see how that goes
Also watched your riding 4 tips, and leaning back has definitely helped too
Hope the advice helps and you can tackle that time attack 🔥
Thank you very much for the video! Just starting out and this braking video really helped, can’t wait for the next!
Glad it helped!
Honestly the “just relax” tip helped soo much
Hi DrAce, I've played every Ride iteration but find that the physics in 5 are so good I need to re learn some of my tactics...particularly the braking! you're lessons here are very sound and made me realize that I'm a ham fisted idiot, thank you for pointing out the effects of the ABS to which in the past I have relied heavily on...but no more. I am a changed rider because of your tutelage and thank you immensely!! stay cool my friend, see you on the track.
My pleasure to help 🔥🔥
I like to raise the slipper clutch and downshift along with the front brakes and use the rear break for trail breaking if necessary.
Great information, i do miss the manual tuck though personally.
Incredibly informative braking information! Thanks
Happy to help! 🔥
Excellent video! Seriously, well done - this is so helpful
Glad it was helpful! 👍🏻
Hi Doc! I’ve been using ABS 1, I remember I didn’t like it on 2, so it’s since then on 1 and I guess it’s working well for me. Great tutorial, as usual! 💪🏼
Thanks Max ❤️
My man, thank you for taking the time to make a video like this. It’s pretty clear that this is a very common issue for players to get the hang of. What are your thoughts about Anti wheelie and engine breaking? Thanks again for the great video, you’re the man!
My pleasure! Got more guides coming soon. I keep anti-wheelie on low and engine braking is always set to 4 👍🏻
Awesome review!
Thanks, mate.I am looking forward to the rest of your series
Cheers bud! Let me know if you want to see something in particular 🔥🔥
@DrAce46 My trouble is with inconsistent control and timing thanks to the MS.
I can’t imagine how frustrating that is mate 😞 keep pushing 🙏🏻
I thought of a possible challenge. Try the Norton on the Nordischlife (sorry for the spelling) at night 😊
The more I play Ride 5 the more it blows me away. In my opinion they pretty much nailed the physics to how I at least enjoy it. Sure you can question the understeer at times but if you look at speedometer it makes sense. It's more that the sense of speed at that low speed is misleading so you overshoot it. The Great acceleration and speed with the beautiful smooth and creamy stability makes up for it.
I loved Ride 4 yet I never did 30 laps in a row on Road America and just wanted more. The physics are highly addictive and I love it and can't get enough! The helmet cam is super immersive and really exciting to use.
Good video man, I am also playing around with ABS trying to understand what it really does in this game and if I want it or not.
Agreed dude, RIDE 5 is epic! Thanks pal 😁😁
Great tutorial, thanks a lot
Thanks for this video. Literally changed the game for me, couldn't stop any of the 1000s prior
Glad I could help
Thank you man! I was wondering what I was doing wrong and it was the bloody abs all along!
Happy to help 👍🏻👍🏻
Great video ! Thanks brother ! 👊🏼
No problem 👍
Great video, just dont brake too late, you can always accelerate gently if you are too slow. :P
Wow!! Thank you so much!!
You're welcome! 🙏🏻
I run Abs on 1 just in case i resort back to my rookie ways but it allows me to brake smooth for flowing corner and harder for tighter hairpins
Good idea, a nice balance 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks. I have gotten better in motogp with trial and error so this should help.
Let me know how you get on 👍🏻
I use the rear brake a lot but you have to know how to use it bc you might push it self further into it line zone ur line zone is where u want to aim where u want to be to come out the corner quicker
See the diagram was helpful, because I didn’t know I could shift weight backwards.
Thank you pal! I need all the help I can get 😂👍🏻👍🏻 I actually tried a PS5 controller as I play on PC but having played with an Xbox pad for 15+ years I just can’t get on with PS controllers 😂
Haha yeah swapping controllers over is a really difficult task and it takes ages to adjust! 😂
Thx for the tips 👍
No problem 👍
I've found that ABS 0 works best if the bike can handle it. Some bikes can but there all different which I think is awesome.
I’m still using ABS 0 for now. I haven’t really tried any other setting for the other bikes yet
On Playstation I use square for brake, circle for upshift, L2 for downshift (kinda where my downshifting would happen on a real bike), and R2 for throttle.
That’s different lol I use square for downshift and circle for upshift, X for rear brake tapping
@@NudaMan - I think early on in the mid/2000s I felt the brake on L2 was overrated and I could acheive the same result using square as it too has sensitivity awareness. I like to keep my steering hand and use of L3 as free as possible with the exception of a quick downshift if needed because sometimes steering adjustments are needed going into turns. Lastly in real life my clutch and shifter were on the left...so it feels more natural to me.
I play RIDE 4 and I wonder what are the improvements of RIDE 5 🙂 .. and yes just relax @ 01:35 .. I prever to play in the ego-perspective, great Video thank's a lot ✨
The ABS! My lap times were getting nowhere, and I didn't know why. AI's been breaking later and getting out of the corners faster than I. ABS=4 is yuck. Down to ABS=1, and it's much better. Down to ABS=0, and I get worse, for now. That'll need practice, but I like how it feels.
Ok now I understand the breaking, I was hard breaking like a jack ass in the corner 😂
You can still brake like that with ABS on 4, if you do without though you lock tire and get lots of wobble so you lose your racing line way easier.
Thank you 👍
You’re welcome mate
Hey! Where did you buy the first belly panel?
Just got mine a few days ago...the breaking different from ride 4... I just need to practice ..there was a bug,you could wheelie a bike at top speed just by going back with the left stick, hope they will fix that....I love this game
Me too dude! It’s awesome
If you can change your Anti wheelie system while you are riding using the ecu / ecm controls
The only thing i need to improve is the release of braking and start to accelerate really gently, jumping from Racing cars sim to ride 5 is always traumatic 😂
It just takes time mate, it's the same for me when I try cars. You'll get crack it mate 👍
Whenever it rains ABS is the worst ! It’s like you never ever stop sliding unless you’re going 20mph on corners
Yeah I keep it off
Thank you I could not figure out why my bike would not stop.i ride I'm real life so I was like man they fuged up the brakes then I turned off the abs and I'm ripping the tracks up.
Happy to help 🔥
Awesome ! Glad i saw this …though im very new to ride (5) i was freaking losing it at how it wont stop or turn fast at all (how nothing like real life in my experience) but finally made a lap last nite w/o crashing lol… couldnt understand how in a long braking zone id have tocram the lever and still miss turn half the time and end up in gravel lol…..gotta find abs off before next laps for sure !
Bit late to the party sorry Ace, but do you use the trigger feedback setting thingy on the PS5 controller?
I don’t, I play on PC and don’t have access to those functions. But when I have played on PS5 I turn them off
Is it better to have braking on combined or separate for my controller? I’m new to ride but have played Isle of Man tt 2 a little
I’d never suggest joint braking as the game will add rear brake when you don’t want it. It’s best to learn both 👍🏻
interesting I seem to bet the bike stopped better and turn in better when slighty pushing the weight to the front under braking... I also tried pulling back but that led to me having to consistently brake earlier to avoid running wide
Interesting, I haven’t tried pushing the analogue stick forwards
This is downhill even harder to notice.
@@DrAce46 feel free to try it and to share your opinion if it works or not maybe im just crazy😂😂
Thank you for this tutorial. Is there a way to increase ff sensitivity on braking? It is very different from Ride 4 and it doesn't feel very natural because it gives you proper feedback only when you are about to crash.
My pleasure, not that I’m aware of sadly
If you are using the xone controller on PC make sure to go into options > controller options > controller and select the vibration support xone and win10 to have the ff in the trigger motors
@@inoz92 thank you but unfortunately I'm on Xbox
Great vid. i just changed to a ps5 controller for pc and the difference is huge . Have you managed to get the haptic feedback to work on pc ?
Thanks mate, nah only a select few titles on PC support the haptic feedback 😞
@@DrAce46 i just downloaded DSX from steam and have the feedback working. although it will cost you £5 . but you can set them up how ever you like .
@@chrisbaker3404 interesting mate, does it require a wired connection or can it be done wireless?
@@DrAce46 Wired as far as i know. not sure if it works with wireless too
Ended up grabbing it on PC much better experience.
Good choice 👍🏻
@@DrAce46 it looks much better on PC and my Rog ally
I have seen your ride 4 video but here in case of ride5 there is not tuckin option and also you said that you should not flick left stick for turns rather than hold up or down then slightly move stick to left or right.. if I hold left stick to up or down it will either do wheelie or stopie when apply break ..
Are you hitting the brake to aggresively? I'm still pushing backwards won the analogue stick whilst under braking and it doesn't stoppie. What level of riding aids are you using?
@@DrAce46 pro
I've been using dual brakes but after watching I'm going to try the same braking system as you, I've been trying everything with the Abs and still can't figure out which is good for me, I do find Ride 5 harder to control than Ride 4, I'm also struggling with turning corners and spend a lot of time going off track.
I would never recommend joint brakes. The game will apply the rear brake in unnecessary moments causing the rear to slide. I’d advise for you to stick to one ABS for 10 laps or so and then change to others and see what works for you 😁
@@DrAce46 thank you for your reply
@@GlutenFreeSteve anytime mate 👍🏻
Try setting engine braking to 0
Are you able to share your bike suspension setup slipper clutch etc. ?
Yeah it’s just default, I don’t change anything 👍🏻
Im having an issue with not being able to use the full senser on the left trigger. I cant find a fix for it too. Im on pc
Have you checked your Steam settings?
@@DrAce46 yep. About 75% of the trigger is 100% brakes
I totally disagree with that controller layout. 😂
X = downshift
Square = upshift
O = rear brake
*my brother doesn’t like my setup
So now I'm really confused. What abs setting should we use?
That’s up to you, I think turning it off is better. But you could try 1 or 2 and see which helps you
am I insane? I SWEAR bots are able to go FASTER at lean than I am? No matter what I do I feel like in the corners is always where the bots catch me no matter how smooth or fast I take it, I could be full throttle taking the corner and the bots will just slam into my rear tire like i'm on a 300.
What ever you’re using , tap ya throttle while in your corners . So for me I’m in ps5 so I’ll hold L2 for the front break , will let go for half a second , and when I let go I’ll tap R2( throttle ) and will tap L2 front break again and then you should be able to either tap or r2 ( throttle ) again really fast so pass them or you should be at apex and can hold R2 ( throttle ) and fly out
Are you braking too early for them to bump you? Or are you going wide for the corner when they catch you up?
I'm not sure I don't feel like I have a problem w/ braking. Sometimes I mess it up but I'm always smooth and can 9/10 times out brake the bots, but I just get the feeling they always catch me in the corners. I know I'm doing something wrong when it happens but I haven't figured out what it is yet.@@DrAce46

Is there a way to get the gear indicator in first person?
Yeah it's in the HUD settings
What do you use the clutch for? Thnx for the vid really helpful!
I don’t use it all. It doesn’t serve any purpose in RIDE 5
@@DrAce46 @LassesGlassKiosk I believe the only use for the clutch would be for wheelies lol
Ah ok! Btw I chenged my button mapping to the one you use and man does it feel good to hawe downshift on r1! Such a gamechanger for being able to use the rear brake!
Looking forward to next vid w advanced riding tips, hawe a good one!
Could be right there mate 👍🏻
Nice!! I really like the downshift there as the index finger will only either downshift or accelerate. Never both at the same time 🔥
How a tutorial on suspension and gears
I can't even drive in this game, do you have any beginner guide, I'm really noob.. i don't know to ride this
This is my beginner guide, I would advise starting slowly around the track and learning the brake points
Guys do you know how do i turn automatic transition in ride 5 ?????
It’s in riding aids
Do you change sliper clutch setting?
Nope, as I said in the video nothing has been changed to settings at at all. Everything is default
yo i am on pc with keyboard , so is it gonna be hard to master the game with keyboard
Yes, very difficult due to key presses being linear
Why does every video I watched so far about Ride 5 make it seem as if the bike turns less and it's harder to make the bike turn/corner, so everyone keeps going wide? Is this an actual "issue" or something, if you get what I mean? : (
It’s not an issue it’s just the way the game is. We can’t get away with the lines we are used to on RIDE 4. We need to treat the bikes more realistically now
Gotchu! @@DrAce46
on pc?
Yes
It's so annoying that you can only get ride 5 on next gen consols
😂
Fuck ps4 and Xbox one
Time for you to buy a gaming laptop (Acer Nitro 5) never buying a console again
Old gen is 10 years old now, new gen is like 3 years old, i think its normal that they dont launch titles to old gen anymore just like they did with PS3 and xb360. Get a series S, cheap, new gen, runs great and you can play all new gen games.
but i don't ride bikes irl....
me who still doesn't have ride 5
Same
Great game just get it, it's incredible feeling.

Abs 1
TCS 2
Aw 1
Eb 0
That's my setup
And I play with a keyboard 😂
This is not a Dig at you more what should be happening !! please read this again do not get upset, you should not be turning off ABS Advance Braking System in the game, I will tell you why, if you read up on ABS you will find it is an electric system using a chip computer to pinch the front and back disc so many times per second with each setting pinching to a higher extent, the fact is it will stop the bike wheels without locking them up (this is a FANTASTIC INVENTION) that I have yet to see put into any bike game, in practice setting one would pinch at a slow rate, two a bit more and three very high, these setting would and should be used on the fly down straights, cornering etc, I really wish they would program this into the game as in your test right now you would go I am on a 110mph straight I need setting 3, I am coming to a corner Setting 2,
I would think the riders race style would come into play also, some I like to hit the breaks hard some might go soft BUT the ABS setting should let you do this ...PUT THIS INTO THE GAME and people will buy it !! the fact is you would in real life miss ABS so much if it didn't
work you would not ride the race, I only wish I could find the show "tomorrows world" showing the bike come from over 100mph to a stop in a matter of feet, my jaw dropped as at the time I was a biker !! tip for the game makers make ABS work show that it does in the game,
let Dr Ace show on setting 1 it take me this time to stop, setting 2 this amount of time and 3 this amount, Turning ABS off show you are not implementing true ABS into the game Dr Ace should be RAVVVING about ABS Not turning ut off !!
Yeah I get you dude, to be honest almost every racing game I’ve played ABS acts as more of a hindrance rather than an aid. RIDE 5 and Isle of Man TT is the same. Not sure why they do it like that but it’s a common theme in gaming
In real life racing no one runs ABS, even amateur track riders take it off. ABS is not refined enough for motorcycles, it's more of a hindrance than a help. It's realistic in the game to be running no ABS
Cars stop faster with ABS do they not? Motorcycles don't? What about on a slippery surface like rain?
Edit: I just learned professional race car drivers in Formula 1, LMP1, NASCAR etc. don't use ABS.
Abs on motorcycles almost made me rear end a car, it literally just skidded and hopped…. Irl I buy bikes without abs lol I don’t need it and never will 😂
If ABS kicks in, it means you went to far and to hard on the brakes, as it is a safety feature.. unlike traction control which (2015+ bikes) HELPS you to accelerate faster out of a corner. Like mentioned above ABS sucks in racing IRL
Sorry but the braking in this is complete rubbish they need to do better.
I love the braking in RIDE 5 it’s much better than RIDE 4. I would definitely advise to reduce ABS if you’re having a tough time getting the bike to stop. It seems to weaken the brakes
@@DrAce46 wish it would stop falling over lol
@@G33MAN65 Are you braking too abruptly mate?
@@DrAce46 I am verry aggressive rider and very heavy handed so Yes I would say I am. I try to ease of but just cant seem to get it right my friend .
Yeah, that can be an issue. It’s best to start off with the smaller bikes and slowly work your way up the 1000’s. You’ll find the 600’s handle much better. Try the Yamaha R6. It’s great 👍🏻
The Best ever 🔥🫡
