I've been model building for more than 30 years now and I never thought I would learn new things. Today you showed me I was wrong. Great tutorial and I am definitely going to try this out on my next plane. Thank you!
I’ve been using the pre-shading technique for years. This is probably the only video I’ve actually come across explaining the process. You’re going to help a lot modellers on this one. Nice one.
My most recent build, I did something similar. I lost my pre shading because of multiple colours, and probably too thick of layers. I put some thicker blend coats just on my panel lines and it seemed to bring back the effect.
Great video, as usual. I'm building a 700 scale AH-1W Super Cobra RC helicopter and although I've started to paint it I'm still pretty new to all this and was wondering if you could do a video on a large AH-1W Super Cobra. I think the main thing on it is just the weathering and the exhaust buildup along the top side of the tail boom. I'm curious as to your techniques for this particular aircraft. I'm basing my visuals off of a fairly weathered looking AH-1W from what appears to be an airshow that I found online. Anyways, thank you for all your videos. You sir are very talented and have a lot of patience!
weird algorithm is weird... youtube only recommended this today despite my constant searches. ..and I really needed to hear someone say (and demonstrate) that there's a part of the process where things look strange (and that we have to trust the process)
Quite nice, albeit labor intensive.👍 For future tutorials, how about one on exhaust and gun port shading, and another on the mars and marks of pilot's feet, crew work - fuel spills, etc.
I'm confused. Why are you painting over the stripes and decals? I think I missed a crucial and very basic point of the video :D I'm searching for good instructions to shade camouflage. If I black base everything I can only do a good shading for the lighter color. Once I add my darker camo color now, the shading will disappear under it. Know what I mean? So... I guess it'll be better to just spray an opaque base coat, do the rest of the camo and then just try to post-shade? Do you have a tutorial on that? (It's the camo pattern of Bostwick's P47). I'm struggling to find a good approach. :(
Those are masks made from a copy of the color profiles 😀 I think for darker colors silver basing is a suitable approach. Check out the camo painting episode from the b26 build for more details.
Absolutely love this technique, even better if you combine it with oil filters. But one thing: too much fading effect on the underside of the ac is not really realistic because those surfeces rarely see sunlight. So less effects there will do a better job!
What Psi for think Lines painted do close? Is your airbrush 0.2 nozzle? Thank U in advance. Such a coincidence, I just grabbed hellcat dual combo from Eduard and im planning to paint same scheme. Your videos are treasure.
Thanks Szymon! It is difficult to put a number as it involves a lot of variables... different paints, ammount of thinner, room temperature and humidity. So my advice would be to get the pressure as low as you can without the airbrush spattering. You can determin the good flow by listening the airbrush. You need nice uninterrupted hiss. Play with the pressure and you will find it. This is true for any size nozzle.
@@MMScaleModels hello. The tittle is posted in french. So I was thinking it was a french narrator. But you are not french. So disappointed because english is hard to understand for me 😢😭

Thanks mate, I am learning new things although I have 20 years of experience and that's one of the best things in the hobby. It continues to evolve.

Metodi, this is a great video. I won't suggest what to do next as I love getting random tutorials in my feed. Keep up the good work!!!
Thanks Jake, still if there is anything you think might be helpful don't hesitate to suggest
Отличная работа! Техника очень интересная, обязательно попробую!👍✊️
Thanks, have fun!

Yes building the opacity in one area can have that effect... to a certain point
Great video, as usual.

Thanks you for your kind words, I have an 1/72nd early cobra build on the channel. It may give you some hints :)
I'm a bit new to your channel and was unaware of the video! I'll go check it out right now. Thank you!

Well the important thing is that you found it and I hope te video will be valuable for you. And yes sometimes you just have to trust the process:)
Really cool technique.👍👍🇨🇦
Thank you! Cheers!
That is a great tutorial Metodi!
Thanks mate 👍🍻

Thanks mate 👍🍻. FYI I already have tutorial on exhaust and heat stains. Thanks for your suggestions.

Great tutorial video 'bro, thanks for uploading!
Thanks mate 👍🍻
Cool 👍. Thank you for showing
Thanks for watching!
Great tutorial! Thank you Master!
My pleasure!
Hello I love your how to videos. Do you think you can do a good one on rescribing, filling and sanding ? And maybe a decaling video?..thanks
Thanks mate 👍 Your suggestions are great and I shall do such tutorials.
Very cool!!!
Thanks mate 👍
Brilliant tutorial! Well done sir!😍👍

Thanks mate, I agree for the most part but on some AC where the wings fold they do get quite some sun, but generally you are correct.
Eres Grande !!!!!!! buena tecnica WOW!!!!!!
Thanks Pako👍🍻
Sir hi, very good & helpful videos, I would like you to show us, how can we make weighted tires.
I will do so whenever the opportunity presents itself :)
Nice!
Thanks!
Unicycle tutorial always wanted one 😉
Hope that helps somehow 😁

Nice tutorial my friend 🍻👍
Thanks mate 👍🍻
saludos desde Venezuela, excelente tutorial, tienes algun tutorial del whashing con oleos?
Thanks mate, I don't have such tutorial yet but you can see how I do washes in some of my build videos.
@@MMScaleModels ok muchas gracias
Спасибо за видео, наверное, это самое полезное для меня 😀
Thanks mate 👍 Happy to know it is helpful 😊
Very nice
Thanks mate!
Thank you
👍🍻
👍🏻
Im confused
I can help, what do you find confusing?
Where can i print the rivet and camoflage schemes?
Well if you have a printer you can print them yourself, otherwise you'll have to search for a service center of some sort.
Nice work-real artist-just cut the Music out.
Thanks 👍
Летс спик фром май харт )))))
Go on 😁
Purely artist licence and not realistic. No aircraft shows off weathering this way.
Tell me honestly, did you watch the whole thing?
You should watch his whole Hellcat build. Once he added the salt weathering layers and oils it turned out really well.
Thanks mate 👍🍻
Good vid...dump the 70s porn music.
Thanks :) Didn't know about the music.
LOL
Would you care to share what is so amusing?
Nvm the copious amounts of overspray.
Just one question... did you watch the entire video?
@@MMScaleModels Yes and you obviously don't even know what overspray is.
Sure
French tittle ??? 😢

Hi mate, there are subtitles in french (google translated but still something). If you need help turning them on let me know.
