Was too caught up in the whole heavy metal scene in the 80's. I didn't realize what a genius band the Cure actually were. Quite possibly the best band in the world. That coming from a heavy metal fool. Not a single heavy metal band even comes close to being as great as the Cure. I wish I had a do over for the 80's.

All I had heard on the radio all I knew in the early 80's was Def Leopard, Van Halen, acdc, metallica, Ratt, Iron maiden and a bunch of other stuff. I too wish I could go back and re do the 80's.
I relived this era by playing in a CURE TRIBUTE BAND for 7 years here in Portland, OR! 🎶 I was "Simonette" and our band was called The Xploding Boys (and a girl). 😄

Once had the privilege and pleasure of helping my friend from west Wales, Jonny Wilde, interview Mr Smith at the Fiction Record Offices just after the Pornography album had been released. z most painfully beautiful and ecstatically joyful music, all at z same time, that I've ever felt in my life. the Cure is definitely my core/soul/backbone band since z early 80's...it's REAL music, and TRUE...and I feel like it's grown with me over z years, as opposed to just touching one particular part of my life. To me, this is what a true "musician" does...song is prayer, and comes from an indefinable place that is not only Within, but also Without. I believe it is a gift from God. Once had the privilege and pleasure of helping my friend from west Wales, Jonny Wilde, interview Mr Smith at the Fiction Record Offices just after the Pornography album had been released. Robert came into the offices with Mary from a shoot from Jamming fanzine (the photo is in this video: the one of them in the tree) and I have never forgotten how beautiful her hair was. She had Japanese beads woven into it. RS on the other hand had had a mare at the local salon and reckoned his perm made him (temporarily) look the spit of Kevin Keegan...

z most painfully beautiful and ecstatically joyful music, all at z same time, that I've ever felt in my life. the Cure is definitely my core/soul/backbone band since z early 80's...it's REAL music, and TRUE...and I feel like it's grown with me over z years, as opposed to just touching one particular part of my life. To me, this is what a true "musician" does...song is prayer, and comes from an indefinable place that is not only Within, but also Without. I believe it is a gift from God. As is True Love and Unbreakable Bonds!!! What a beautiful example of True Love these two are! Not like I've ever been around them to know, but...I bet they would be completely lost without each other. I somehow feel that z music would stop...seems she really is his beautiful Muse!
