This is now down to £129 here in the uk, and i have to say it really does enhance your Series S now you can have some of the bigger games like MS2020, Starfield, Forza7/8, FH 4/5, SOT, to name a few.......and the transfee speeds were stunning, almost 6gb a second when movibg 150gig MS2020 frim internal to card, all done under 2 mins......150gig in under 2 mins.......stunning.
I an seeing this really late but I am struggling with storage space myself with the Series S, do you think this is worth buying or should I just get a Series X instead?
I would suggest the wd black version of expansion card as its a bit cheaper also seagate only lowered the price when wd black cam out with theirs for much cheaper so they were upcharging for a long time since they were the only one on the market and i dont wanna support a company that did that

I was so upset when I got my series s and I could only have fh5 and Motorsports and another 50 gig game. Or I could have Motorsports and cold war. I have a ssd that moves 130 gigs in 12 mins but that's so annoying. I just bought one of these hopefully it actually does a decent job
So it comes down to if you are not a patient person. Spend 200 more dollars. Haha. Um. No. 😅 I also still have my external from last gen. We can still store new gen games on them and move them to internal hard drive at a fast speed still. So buying another external for 200 usd is pointless for me and buying a internal card to maybe cut transfer speed by 5 minutes definitely is not a sales pitch for me. So nah. I'll just stick to my old external and wait 5 more extra minutes. 😅
no. The cards are specifically made for next gen X|S games. You can play X|S next gen games directly from this card. You CAN'T play next gen X|S games from a standard USB drive, but you can store X|S games on a standard USB drive, and PLAY Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Xbox games from a standard USB drive.
External USB drives cannot run XS games, they can only store them. They can run Xbox One and lower games though. If you want to run next-gen XS games from an expansion drive, get the Seagate drive from this video. Link for Amazon in description.

it just has to do with the format and how computers see storage space. for computers a Kilobyte is 1024 bytes not 1000 as humans think about it. Same thing happens on Windows. 1TB is thought of as 1000GB by humans, but your PC will see it as 928GB or so. A 4TB drive will show as about 3.63TB

Everytime i try to install games like COD, it keeps printing “ free up space on internal drive “ and i have the expansion card in the system.
Go into your settings and Storage and switch it from "Let Xbox Choose" to the Expansion Card to force it to install there.
