In south east Asia, the clumps of these species can get massive with more than 100 poles. I think D. sinicus is more common in the north of Laos. I look forward to embarking on a great bamboo expedition there.

I think it would be in the Phonsali and Louang Namtha regions. I was borne near Phonsavan, but I have little memory of it since we left the country due to the civil war.

what's the maximum footprint for asper, giganteus, and sinicus? when you go to Laos, please let me know where you find sinicus.
