  • Singles Going Steady was never supposed to be Buzzcock’s magnum opus, let alone a massively influential document of the exact moment pop and punk collided. It would go on to influence bands like Nirvana, Green Day, and Arcade Fire.

    Great record. It took a few years before I found out it was a compilation, but you didn't exactly hear many buzzcocks singles on Australian radio. Like none. Ever.

      The Puppet Head this year model is his best one. Well, all the records between My Aim is True to Imperial Bedroom are absolutely masterpieces. 🙈

    • @thepuppethead1188
      @thepuppethead1188 6 років тому

      I prefer the rawness on my aim is true,it's darker in a more substantial way (plus Waiting for the end of the world is amazing). I really like This Year's model too,gotta love Pump it up and The beat on that one

      @thevoid99 6 років тому +4

      but one of those great compilations that manage to become legendary on its own. if it wasn't for that album, i would realize that punk-pop isn't blink 182 or all of those lame emo bands that do "punk does classic rock" bullshit. it was the buzzcocks who provided that perfect combination of punk ferocity and pop craftsmanship.
