This album was my childhood man... I remember I heard A-Punk on the radio when I was little and mentioning that I liked the song to my mom. That Christmas she got me this album on CD. Initially, I was disappointed as I didn’t care as much about music back then as I do now. However, as soon as put the CD in my shitty CD player, I was in love. I played that album every night without fail. The waves of nostalgia come as soon as I hear any songs from this album. Anyway, this is an awesome video!
One of the most important albums I've ever listened to. It really expanded my horizons in terms of listening to music. It introduced me to a whole new genre/type (whatever you call it) of music and made me curious to explore other different music I'd never known before.
@PorgPrinterz 3D I wrote that comment when there were some doubts about #4 after Rastam left. A thousand listens to Father of the Bride later and now I'm waiting on #5.
Do “Whatever People Say I Am That’s What I’m Not” by the Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand’s self titled debut or the Rolling Stones “Exile on Main Street”
Capitan Keter “lol what are you fucking 15?” Are you? You’re so predictable and pathetic you don’t even realize you just proved your age. You must be around 16 to 17 to call me 15 it’s no rocket science, you wouldn’t assume me to be older than that cause older is your own age hence you picked an age close to yours but younger. You’re so delusional and hypocrite, you don’t know me either so you shouldn’t assume shit either right? and making gay jokes just proves your age again. I’m about to assume something that might be true at least I don’t assume bs that makes you look more mature unlike you; you’re probably the type of guy who listens to two or three songs off an album once and you move on if you didn’t enjoy it and talk shit about it on the Internet. If you hate “these motherfuckers” so much what’s the point for your autistic ass to be out here commenting and trashing their music? Is that the only hobby you have in life? I wonder who’s pathetic now smh.
Lol thanks for agreeing with me you went as far as quoting me nice! Glad to have changed your mind, hopefully you learn from this experience. Feels nice to win B)
Zach Litchman Congratulations by MGMT and Gimme Fiction by Spoon would be my picks, personally but you’re right. Those are the albums that probably deserve the videos.
Vampire Weekend is at its core all about the political and social commentary in the lyrics. People who don’t like them don’t seem to understand that and dismiss them as childish.
This album was great, but strangely did not open the door to more afrobeat influenced bands. A group named Mr. Something Something (from Canada) made amazing music similarly influenced by African rhythms but never got attention. The black panther soundtrack brought it back a bit, hoping it comes back.
remember when ezra invited me via twitter direct message to meet them at the backstage, and i used to tweet them only to get replies on twitter. miss those days.....so when is LP4 out?
"Ralph Lauren-clad indie rock"
couldn't have described them any better
I thought the same thing as soon as he said that.
do you want the family man, or do you want the swinging man?
pretty much accurate as maybe it explains why i never could get into them.
Do one for Ladies and Gentlemen we are floating in space by Spiritualized
How is this album a decade old?? I still remember when i heard it the first time. Time flies and this has aged so well.
I simple boy: I see sepia chandelier, I click
I’m trying to not scream at 2 am

a classic
TVG just commented that. I think both albums are better than the debut, though it’s still great.
Do Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division
I'm down for this
Being Pitchfork, they'd likely do Closer instead..
It’s overrated as fuck!!! Oof, im ready for your hate
im really glad these are coming out more regularly, i watch even if i dont know the album, they're just fun to watch
Yo this album changed my life fr
Never clicked so fast in my gosh darn life. This album is a hell of a classic and one of the greatest indie rock albums ever.
One of the most important albums I've ever listened to. It really expanded my horizons in terms of listening to music. It introduced me to a whole new genre/type (whatever you call it) of music and made me curious to explore other different music I'd never known before.
I diiiiig this
I'm loving this Pitchfork! Pls. Do Since I Left You by The Avalanches or Homework by Daft punk
Yep one of my favorites of the 2000s. I think I know just about every lyric on this album. Still waiting for #4.
Jason Cromwell Mitsubishi Macchiato☕️
@PorgPrinterz 3D I wrote that comment when there were some doubts about #4 after Rastam left. A thousand listens to Father of the Bride later and now I'm waiting on #5.
Their debut is by far one of my favorite albums
Do “Whatever People Say I Am That’s What I’m Not” by the Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand’s self titled debut or the Rolling Stones “Exile on Main Street”
Contra is their best album by far in my opinion. The debut is good but seems lesser after listening to the following 2 albums.
Their last album is a classic
Modern Vampire of the city? eh to me it wasnt that great, maybe a few good songs like Step and hannah hunt. i wasnt really feeling that album

I'm obsessed with this album
Instant classic
Good one. Thanks for the memories.
fucking nostalgia bait.......that I totally buy into
The album that started this legend
Do Patti Smith - Horses, pleaseee
Do more indie rock classics! Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, Oracular Spectacular, Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga!
Zach Litchman Congratulations by MGMT and Gimme Fiction by Spoon would be my picks, personally but you’re right. Those are the albums that probably deserve the videos.
*GA GA GA GA GA*
The Soft Bulletin would be a better choice than Yoshimi. Imo. It did it first and better. Again, imo
@@thewhatness I hate that album.
This is a modern classic
Vampire Weekend is at its core all about the political and social commentary in the lyrics. People who don’t like them don’t seem to understand that and dismiss them as childish.
I've been waiting for this one
You should do Contra. That album was their best one! This new one is okay
On the Beach, After the Goldrush, Harvest???
This album was great, but strangely did not open the door to more afrobeat influenced bands. A group named Mr. Something Something (from Canada) made amazing music similarly influenced by African rhythms but never got attention. The black panther soundtrack brought it back a bit, hoping it comes back.
I fucking love these videos! Still waiting for a video on "Lift Your Skinny Fists like Antennas to Heaven" though.
I love this album
Lonesome crowded West next!
They did like a full 40 minute documentary on TLCW a while ago that's really good
Sean Pritchard insanely good I watch that thing yearly
isaac’s commentary is great.
Did Pitchfork just get a character arc?
for anybody wondering what "su coast music" or "sukho's music" (as it is translated in closed caption on the pitchfork site) is, it's "soukous" fwp
One of the best Albums ever.
Can’t believe this is 10 years old now. Fuck, my youth is disappearing further into the review mirror... Oh, and great album! ✌🏼
remember when ezra invited me via twitter direct message to meet them at the backstage, and i used to tweet them only to get replies on twitter. miss those days.....so when is LP4 out?
AWWWW YEEEEAH WOOO!

More Pitchfork Classic docs plzzzzzz
Their third album (though not the best) showcased their ability to change their sound. I love their original sound better though.
A Liner Notes on Discovery by Daft Punk or In Search Of by N.E.R.D
Philosophies on Vampire Weekend
Please do Slint - Spiderland in the foreseeable future.
One of the best bands of this decade, can't wait for next album
Do Images and Words or In The Court Of The Crimson King
So great! I wore out this album in college when it first came out!
Amazing shot of Paul Simon's forearm @4:53

You guys should do the crane wife by The Decemberists
“far beyond their Ivy League roots.”
Cobey C.B XD
YES THANK YOU
Pitchfork do you know something? When is their album coming out?
Dalton Lunn its supposed to be released in 2018 and its working title is called mitsubishi macchiatto but that is all we know
Dalton Lunn Probably later this year
The fact that this album was derided at release is absolutely dumbfounding
yeah but MVOTC is the real masterpiece that needs a liner note
Connor O'Reilly Contra, though.
Yes
Yes!
Connor O'Reilly I think this series is more about classics. mvotc is fairly recent I think.
I like MVOTC, I even have it on cd but I feel as if their first two albums represent them better and are better than it as well
how fast can one click?
I think I found out today.
tasteful
do POP2 by charli XCX!!!!
peter gabriel too
The police for guys who wear boat shoes
One needs to be done on Good Shoes if we're doing early 2000s
Do Joshua tree!
do Twin Fantasy or Slanted and Enchanted!!!!!
Album is nice and all, but MVOTC is their magnum opus.
Quién mas ama vampire weekend? Empezando por mi 🙋
They sound like Talking Heads and XTC.
I think Talking Heads and The Police (or just Sting).
Nostalgia Baitttttttttttt
I love it though
And... single drop!
Sgt pepper
"The greatest band of our generation," I kept insisting.
Justin Slick Spoon, mate
