@@ParacordPlanet It is NOT called a fid! A fid has a handle. What you have there is clearly a lacing needle. You can't attach cord to a fid but you can a lacing needle as that is the whole point of one.
Not if you first do a many Turks Head knots and learn how to expand them. Then it's all about laying down tracks and then splitting them like in this variation.
