  • The start of a new "Evo" patch, from a few years ago. Had a hunch on a certain spot, so went there equipped with the Minelab 5000, 12" Nugget Finder Evolution coil and my shiny new 14"x9" Evo. I wanted to give the 12" a run then swap to the 14x9" to note any differences. Both found gold!!

    Nenad's opinion on the GPX5000 in 2022 - "The GPX5000 and a 12" or 14x9" Evo is the best bang for buck combo for small and larger gold. Sure, you won't find tiny gold as well as the 6000 or SDC2300, but you also won't dig as much lead shot, so you cover a lot more ground."

    You had what looked to be fine gold sparkles on your fingers when you found that second piece??

      No not gold. Broken down mica schist, like tiny flakes. There are big slabs of it on surrounding hillsides.

    Love my 4500 still finds good gold don't see the need to buy the 6000 to find tiny gold 👍

      Still have my 4500 too, but no denying that the SDC, GPZ & 6000 are far superior on reef gold. Lots of iron encrusted gold around my parts that didn't start popping out the ground regularly until the 2300 came out. 6000 can be frustrating in areas littered with lead shot, but it can also find colour when nothing else will.

    hello bro, can you share your machine settings?

      Check out some of my previous GPX5000 videos, I often share settings. Can't remember exact settings I would have been running in this video, but I'm often not far off factory settings in General mode.

    I love my 5000. I just picked up the 6000 but am holding onto my 5000 for new patches. I like having the discrimination with the DD coil. The 6000 is unbelievable on gold the 5000 just can’t hear. A friend has been cleaning up an area we have detected for 20 years with every Minelab since the SD2100.

      Hi Wes, thanks for stopping by. Yes, the 6000 and the 5000 compliment each other very well.

    Hi Nenad thanks for the videos always enjoy watching them. If you were to buy one Evo for a 4500 which would you get for depth on smaller sub gram to multi gram nuggets between the 12 round or the 14x9 Evo?

    • @diggingwithphasetech
      @diggingwithphasetech  Рік тому +1

      They are very close on sub grammers, but the 12" is clearly better on multi-gram pieces, so I'd go with the 12". Glad you enjoy the videos ⛏

    Hi Nenad great work was wondering why your back on the gpx 5000 . Did you go away from the 7000
    ?

      @diggingwithphasetech  Рік тому

      No, just always liked the 4500 and 5000 for patch hunting. Lighter and can swing them faster. The GPZ comes out in Part 2

    I usually just walk around with a 17x13 on my 5000 because I’m lazy lol , it seems pretty sensitive on all gold , that’s for the vid 👍👍👍

    • @diggingwithphasetech
      @diggingwithphasetech  Рік тому +2

      Yeah 17x13" is a great all-rounder, but if you find a few bits, you gotta hit it with a smaller coil. 12x8" Evo if the ground is mild enough or a Sadie.

      I would never change my 5000 for anything, i have found around 15 ounces in the last 3 years with it, mostly decent sized bits, I only run the 15 and 19 evos though

    What would the last model of a 4500 and 5000 difference be besides the fine gold setting?

    • @diggingwithphasetech
      @diggingwithphasetech  Рік тому

      Yes 5000 has Fine Gold, but also Salt Gold which is a big improvement over Salt-Coarse on the 4500. If you don't intend to detect beaches or salt lakes, and don't care about missing very small stuff, the 4500 is just as good. Here is an article I wrote about Salt Gold. www.minelab.com/community/treasure-talk/the-power-of-salt-gold
