"If push comes to shove, it is usually better to give up a pawn, if it means protecting a rook." What a great phrase describing the mindset of key-players in geopolitics 👍.
A fitting analogy while discussing the part of the world that brought chess to fame (after its invention in India)
WE ARE the pawns. No matter religion or race.
Fight the real monsters. Our so called leaders.
Except I think he’s quite wrong. Iran doesn’t need Hezbolla for its own defense, that’s just silly. Iran has a huge stockpile of its own missiles and its backing of Hezbolla is specifically aimed at power projection out of Lebanon and Syria.
No, we have a real differences. It is not just leaders to recognize their struggle in the region is real for both sides and then maybe they can solve the problems. It is insult to everyone to say otherwise.
Reminds me of when Israel attacked uss Liberty.....
According to Iyad El-Baghdadi, Iran has to maintain credibility. If Iran abandons Hamas all of it's other proxies will notice and make greater demands of Tehran in future.
👏 excellent observation
While true, remember Hamas is a Sunni terrorist organization and not Shia like Hezbollah. Iran and Hamas share similarities only on their policies against Israel. Iran has an interest in helping them because Hamas are actively trying to defeat Israel. Out of all proxies Iran has, Hamas is the one who they can afford losing.
This Report shows Iranian and Syrian forces entering the war through Syria. At this point I turned it off.
1. Iran has very little logistical or force projection capabilities to support such a move.
2. The US military occupies the route through which they would have to move.... good luck getting through THAT!
3. Iranian conventional forces would be stretched over a large area of open desert, and could be annihilated by air strikes, especially if the US joined the war.
4. Syria is in the middle of a civil war. They have little to no means of attacking Israel. If they did, they would have responded to the almost constant Israeli bombing strikes on their territory.
5. Good luck attacking the Golan heights from the north!

Israel and the US would love an excuse to take out Iranian military infrastructure...that would give it to them.

Just wanted to say how excellent your reporting is. You’ve been accurate and have been more clear and better at analyses than some of people I know at think tanks. Great work as always.
This guy has the perfect voice for narrating details and current events. Bravo sir!
Very well done. I've recommended this to a friend who's a foreign policy security analyst for the government, and he raves about your analysis and relative objectivity.
If that isn't a ringing endorsement I don't know what is.
With all the corporate and government influenced news these days, the objective truth is like a glass of spring water amidst a sea of cold coffee and flat cola. Well done brother.
You kind of undercut the endorsement of this content by your friend since he’s an advisor to the government and in your third paragraph you point out that government influence on what we’re told makes it unreliable. Though this video does indeed seem to be pretty neutral, I would certainly agree that any information associated with or endorsed by government or its people is never to be trusted. Nowhere is this more true than with the governments of the U.S. and Israel when it comes to what’s going on over there. I have found, on the other hand, that many scholars, journalists and regular citizens who grew up in Israel, with all the brainwashing that entails, but who have seen through the lies, are an excellent source of information. Top of this list, for me, would be Ilan Pappe, Miko Peled, and Amira Haas. These are people who had every reason to be unreservedly pro-Israel throughout their lives, but have instead cut through the BS and decided to share what they’ve learned with the world. I’ve learned a lot from them.
He doesn’t care about some low level fp analyst endorsement
Also understanding who is making the content is important as Caspian report is Azerbaijani. That doesn’t make him unreliable in many aspects but unfortunately biases are bound to happen. In no way am I saying Caspian report is unreliable. Quite the opposite but having all the information in regards to where your information is coming from is important.
@@meganbaker9116This is a religious war started by Hamas, that has only 1 goal for it's existence: destroying the Israelites, to achieve this goal they hold the population of Gaza hostage and use them as human shields. It's not an equal war for Israel because they want to welcome the Palastians to the state of Israel and end their suffering, but Hamas uses the Israelites sympathy against them. The war is not against the Palastians but against Hamas
@@meganbaker9116 The problem is, left-leaning people in Israel (i.e. the types of people you're referring to) are the same as left-leaning people in every other democratic country, i.e. so focused on individual-level suffering that they become blind to the big picture. Far from an 'excellent source of information', they just tell you what any left-leaning person would. 1 question. Why is Israel green and the rest of the Arab world red...
Very simple. We did not instigate this war. The only war we HAVE definitively started ourselves was the Six Day War. We are marked green because we are the target, and potential spark of a wider war because of it. not because we are the "good guys".

Once gain, amazing analysis
While it's tough for Israel and Palestine, Iran is really playing a game of chess with Saudi Arabia and the US. I doubt there'll be direct confrontation with Iran as that would mean the biggest conflict since WW2.
These are muslims, deathwishers with nothing to lose. They ain't resting til they dead or continue getting whatever they want
I don't think Iran has to worry about Saudi Arabia here... if the Saudi's backed the US that would mean backing Israel, in the midst of this crisis, against other Muslims. Their people would revolt. Their options are neutrality OR intervening against Israel to some extent as well in an effort to prevent Iran from claiming the de-facto title of "defender of the Islamic world" for itself
Biggest conflict since WW2 only until China finally does make a move on Taiwan & Philippines.

Great job .. Concise and clear.
I would like to see this issue discussed in the context of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict because so many of the regional powers with a stake in that war also have a stake in the conflict in Israel. As I see it, the greatest regional danger is a convergence of unrelated regional crises setting off a broader conflict. It is easy to see how this can spread like a wildfire. Let's all hope it doesn't.
Caspian report is Azerbaijani so I think he doesn’t want to touch on this issue due to certain biases. Which is understandable and extremely admirable. If he did he’d probably become more of a propagandist rather than a legitimate geopolitical analysis and I’m sure he is fully aware of that. He seems extremely intelligent and honourable.
In a sense this war is by extension connected to the Armenian Azerbaijani conflict. There’s a reason why Azerbaijan and Turkey buy weapons from Israel and there’s a reason why they both have the same tactics when it comes to their minorities. It’s interesting as well because Israel right now is doing the exact same thing that Azerbaijan-did to Armenia. Israel never used to block aid or internet to Gaza before, but I think the Azeri government doing it to the Armenians for 9 months kinda inspired them too.
I’m not denying that Armenia did some bad things too they definitely did. But similar to Hamas if you deny someone’s independence and self determination which is a human right expect retaliation. Resistance against subjugation and genocide isn’t terrorism similar to Palestine you know.
In the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict the US, the UK, and Frace have zero interest in it. As for Israel, the case is totally different.
@@User-jr7vf Armenia has long wanted to join nato and establish itself into the western sphere. But Armenia unlike Greece didn’t exist when nato was formed. Armenia was still subjugated under Soviet rule. When they gained independence from the Soviets. They very much favoured the west, they developed a democracy and implemented a constitution.
However the west already allowed Turkey in, who would of fought tooth and nail to keep Armenia out. They are fighting now to keep Sweden out. Imagine Armenia tried to join. So Armenia to survive had to ally with Russia there previous overlords to ensure there survival even tho they were a democracy and had very western values.
It’s kinda bit the west in the as* though because, now Turkey is very much aligning itself with Russia and people are realising the amount of problems Turkey has caused. I mean it doesn’t magically happen that every nation that borders you doesn’t like you. Both Muslim and Christian and both in nato or not, don’t like Turkey.

Please keep up the good work.
A lot of it available in mainstream media, academia and other open sources around the world. Sorting through and compiling it all s the daunting task.
Like it's not too little information, but a torrential flood of information from the various actors.
We dont see this in ANY media, not just 'western' media. You dont see this sort of detail in indian news for example
I, unlike you, actually read western media, and what they write is basically the same as what Shirvan says. Of course they cant go as much into detail as him since they need to keep their news articles somewhat short. We in the west have independent media houses that can concentrate on only bringing news without any intervention by anyone, just like this UA-cam channel.
@@abraham2172 It's not a lack of information, but a torrent of information. Like a stream of snippets and smaller stories that gets hard to navigate.
The underreported part right now is the West Bank. There was no attack from there but the settler movement seems intent on stirring up trouble and really showing why Israel needs a two-front war. The IDF is arresting Hamas members, sympathizers and associates. There's growing demonstrations among the palestinians on the West Bank.
@@abraham2172 Could you just F off with the 'independent' part? Western media may be independent when it comes to internal affairs, but when it comes to foreign matters, they are NOT always independent. Ever since my country was subjected to orchestrated smear campaign (filled with fake news and deliberate half-truths) by the American and European media, I realized what a BS Western media is. By the way, in the West you don't have full freedom of speech either; you can only say what is allowed to be said. Once you cross that boundary, you will be subjected to smear campaigns, made a fool and will be silenced from the media and SNS. Most Western people are truly living in their own bubble.

The U.S, China, Russia, Europe don’t care enough for that region to destroy themselves in a M.A.D scenario, and would collectively agree to not do anything about it. And if a regional war ever triggers, that became an existential threat to Israel, I don’t doubt they would strike the invading countries if they couldn’t win the war otherwise.
Wrong.
They wouldn't dare.
They wouldn't survive after this.
Pakistan said that it would gladly give to any Muslim nation a stock of its nuclear arsenal if they feel threatened by a nuclear warhead.
Therefore, china and russia will care whether they like it or not.
Iran is not an isolated country.
It has countries, autonomous regions filled with the same ethnicity in the Middle East and central Asia.
Therefore, if israel dares to drop one of them, it'll undoubtedly spread across the world.
Usa and Israel barks about using them, but they wouldn't dare.
They said the same thing before taking Baghdad that they might use them, but in the end, they didn't.
Will Israel use them if faced with extinction?
Whether they use them or not, the end result will be the same for them.
The zionist project will eventually end.
How real this episode is going to be is very disturbing.
