    WOW, That's a great light.
    That's much better.
    Sew-Classic is probably my favorite parts supplier since the prices are so low, but she was out of stock on about 70% of the things I went there to get last time, and some of those things, like the hard rubber feet for the base of the 413, have been out of stock for a very long time.
    My last order I sent a note asking if she was going out of business, that was a couple maybe three weeks ago.
    She never replied.
    I hope she gets stocked back up.

      When I went to order more rubber feet 2 weeks ago they showed out of stock. I emailed Jenny and asked if she could say when they would be back in stock and she said her suppliers are expecting more in about a week and she would email me when she got them in. 8 days later (Tuesday) she emailed they were in and I bought some. I don't know if she is having trouble with the suppliers or they are having trouble getting parts, many of whick are coming from China I believe. The trade situation between China & USA maybe? Anyway, I bought 24 rubber feet and was happy to get them at her great price. I hope she remains in business as long as I am restoring machines. Thanks for watching.

Mine has the diffuser which is preventing me from getting my fingers into the fixture to unscrew the bulb, which is apparently burned out. Any tips on how to remove that diffuser? Thanks. Excellent led lamp, here in Brazil this type of small LED lamp is more expensive than small incandescent bulb lamp. A small incandescent bulb comes out cheaper in price, the small led bulb gets to cost 5 times more than an incandescent bulb lamp.

      Welcome to Andy Tube. Cute did not come with a lense for the spotlight. It did have a part called the tension spring, part no. 195134.
      A round ring about as big as the opening in front. I believe the spring goes int the front of the light and sits on a shelf or nubs and the lens is inserted and turned against the spring to hold the lens in place. Just my theory as I had no lens. Here is the video where I dismantle the spotlight and talk about the lense: :

    1935 singer 99. seems it needs the resistance from the bulb to run. bypassed it and got sparks, old bulbs are 15w leds are 2w. can this be done well?

    • @andytubesewing1953
      @andytubesewing1953  Рік тому

      I don't think the change in wattage of the bulb would cause that. The light works independently of the motor and vice-versa. You can run the motor with the bulb on or off, and even with a burned-out bulb in place. If you used the wrong voltage of the bulb, meaning a 110 instead of 220, etc. maybe that would cause a problem. The only time I've had "sparks" on a sewing machine was due to poor connections or defective wiring. You said "bypassed it" so did you change the wiring connections??

    Andy do you think that light will work in a 401a?

    • @andytubesewing1953
      @andytubesewing1953  4 роки тому

      NOT THIS EXACT THREADED BULB. It screws into the socket. Model 401A uses BAYONET STYLE bulbs, which are readily available. I have put bayonet-style in several 301A, 401A, 403A, 404, 500A, 503A. Here is a video comparing the regular bulb to the LED in a Model 404, which has the same light socket as the 401A: ua-cam.com/video/uMK6jsQHoeY/v-deo.html I use this bulb which has the 100+ emitters. www.ebay.com/itm/6-LED-BULK-Singer-Sewing-Machine-Fits-ALL-Featherweight-221-Light-Bulb-LOT-Black/223143891593?hash=item33f4699289:g:GQoAAOSwJ8RbmonX (I see she only sells multiples of 6 now) Some find it too bright. There are bulbs with fewer emitters available. Look for the ones without a flange where the metal and silicone meet. I had problems with those. I buy from Foxy b/c she was the first I found with the smooth sides that fit perfectly and I have used in almost every Singer model until this screw-in model 99K. We like the "white" light version, while some like the "daylight" (to me, yellow) version. For us, the white seems more clear and colors appear more natural. Thanks for asking, Jule. Take care.

Most sellers of LED bulbs show a push-in style of the bulb but it could depend on the light installed on your machine as many of the 66 models were sold without a light. Singer push-in bulbs are the same base size. If your light fixture requires a screw-in bulb they come in 2 sizes that I know of, a 5/8 inch and a 7/16 inch.
