Also maybe a young Rock Hudson? Cavaradossi was a painter, but also a man with a cause and, in his own private way, a hero. This heroic interpretation, I believe, is a lament for both his lost love and ideals. Just marvelous and heartbreaking.

What a voice ! But what a cabotine too !!! He turns music into a self promotion instrument ... keeping every high note forever ... I find it spectacular but hardly moving or musical
