I’m really glad that you showed them as adults. Buddy and i were talking about how very few ppl show their adult axathics just yesterday. I’m adding spotnose instead of spider into my project. All my ax and hets came from John as well.

Great informative video! I just invested heavily in some amazing TSK AX DG stuff from John. I went back and forth between VPI and SK. But after some healthy debate in a snake room chat with some friends and talking to John I'm happy with my decision. Those are some really beautiful snakes you have!!
I love your breeding experience. It really shows the effort and heart that you put into it. Yeah, you want some money from it, but, you can tell that you ENJOY IT!! Maybe one day I can snag a super pastel axanthic from you. I think they’re the most gorgeous combo I have yet to see in the ball python world. But that fire pastel was beautiful!
Great video! I work with so axanthic as well and I love it. I think axanthic is one of those genes that looks great with just about any gene combo.
I love Axanthic even though I don't work with that gene (yet)! The problem is I can't decide witch line to go with, they all bring something unique to the project though I'm leaning toward Snake Keeper or VPI. That big Pastel YB het Axanthic you produced is beautiful, I think Pastel YB is an amazing simple combo on it's own, I actually held back a female from one of my clutches last season as a pet just because sh is so pretty and she's about 1000 grams now and hasn't started to brown out at all.
Personally, I think VIP and TSK axanthics are the best lines, both lines hold their colors as adults fairly good, rarely find almost normal looking axas. Of course, it also greatly depends on the breeder/quality of parents instead of just line. But it's an ever-ongoing dispute if VIP or TSK is better. I decided on VIP cuz I preferred em a LOT more and because I had a ton of an easier time finding them(+hets) than TSK, here in Europe, hence availability.
YES!! I totally agree! Axanthic is EVERYTHING! Axanthic is my FAVORITE ball python gene. I have a female VPI ax. And am paying off an axanthic pied female right now that will be on her way home end of August.
And I agree. If I were to ever mess with the spider gene, it'd be a spider axanthic.

I have a female and male vpi axanthic het for piebald! Bought them as hatchlings and they’ll be a year old in 3 months. Hoping for some lightening pieds someday.

I have a male pastel axanthic VPI het pied and female pastel axanthic VPI and a female pinstripe axanthic VPI in my collection. Males will breed 2022 and the females will be ready 2023

Too make a tsk, you just need tskbon both parents. Weather each parent is het or visual will change the odds

With the proper combo, staying black and white (with a bit of light silver) is possible. Fire is a big help on that
