Show how to replace the line after it has broken off inside the head for the 10th time

Bought this unit and found it to be exceptionally trick to load larger diameter line. .095" simply will not thread across through the internal holes, too stiff and curly. Was almost ready to return the unit, but Finally made .065" load. While Stihl says this unit will run .095" line, I don't think you can load it consistently (if at all!).

I heard you say you can only run a .08 line. We’re you using the stock round line?

I may have misspoken. They give you the Stihl orange round line .80
I’t works for this application but I’d like to see it bumped up to .90 trimmer line.

Helpful video, I just got one of these today, first thing I noticed was there is a lot of vibration in low/medium speeds, more than my gas/petrol strimmer! Felt like mechanical vibration but it wasn't so bad at full speed. Did you notice this too or have i got a faulty unit?! Thanks.

I just purchased a Stihl FSA 60 R and my initial thought is it is not fit for purpose, the automatic line feed just does not work properly. I spent more time unscrewing the head and re-loading the line as it kept snapping inside the head. The automatic line feed just did not work and I had to pull out the line manually. Ran out of the line provided with the machine after about 12 minutes of use. Highlighted this to Stihl on their website and their response was "We would kindly advise making sure you are using the correct line thickness. For the Autocut c 6-2 head, that can be either 2.0 or 2.4 mm in thickness. In addition, please have the mowing line or spool soaked in water for 24h. This is because, over time, nylon line loses moisture and therefore elasticity......" The line used was what was supplied by Stihl with the machine, so clearly the correct line was used. I will see how I get on with the Stihl 2.4mm line I have ordered, if I still have issues I may have to take this back to the dealer.

Sounds like yours has some issues. I just finished my first spool of string after 2 seasons of use. The auto spool works great on mine as well

@@MountainSledder1987 I have just tried using this machine again using teh Stihl pro line 2.4mm as I thought it may be the cheaper line supplied with teh machine, but it simply snaps inside the spool with teh stronger line. I had to take the spool off three or four times to reload the line. It snapped again inside teh spool so give up. I will be calling teh dealer on Monday as this is useless and just not fit for purpose. I haven't event used a full battery with it yet.

EXACTLY! 'Im having the exact same problem with mine, and it is fresh out of the box.. Did you end up finding a soultion for this annoying problem?

@@IncarnationMastery I went to a dealer who took me outside on some lawn and showed me how to use the strimmer. Apparently most of the time it's a user error. His advice was to try and use the tool so you're just using the tip of the line and try not to get too close to what you're cutting especially next to pavings and hard surfaces. He also suggested using the Stihl square line rather than the Pro line as it's half the price and more than suitable for lawns and edging. Still early days though so will see how I get on. Didnt address the line not being fed out with the automatic feed by tapping the head, so will also just see how I get on after a few more uses.

I am having the very same issue. I have to keep tapping the auto feed to keep line from disappearing inside the head. Took it to dealer who inspected it and stated the mechanical parts are working fine. This line issue seems to be very prevalent.

I don’t know how much I believe Stihl staying for how long it will last. I have a 2k sq ft house with bushes all the way around and with the hedge trimmer I can trim all my bushes with 2 bars and Stihl says it should take two batteries for that

Looks OK .... but I'd put my 60 volt Toro #51831 against it any day, it cost about $200. My trim time is about 45 minutes with the 2 amp battery, and over an hour with the 2.5 amp battery.
