Ok, I think it's finally time I did this. I'm trying to raise funds so we can get off the street and practice our martial arts inside an actual building. I can't work anymore due to my accident, and I can't do this alone. I won't lie. If you can donate, share and ask others to help me out, i would owe you my eternal thanks. The Hung Sing Choy Lee Fut system (original name: Hung Sing Fut Gar) is a Chinese martial art for traditional kung fu combat training. This is not one of your run of the mill schools of kung fu. Our system has been tried and test since it’s inception in 1851, all the way down to current times. In the old days, our system was used on the battle field in life and death combat during the many “revolutions” that took place in China between 1851-1949.
Our elders have fought Western boxers, Muay Thai, rival kung fu factions, bandits, rogue government soldiers, defended their country against the invading Japanese, and even aided in the overthrowing of the Qing Dynasty in 1911. Today, we are continuing our combative path by entering Sanda/Sanshou competitions and the like. However, it is not our goal to become sport fighters. It is our goal to always maintain the efficiency and longevity of our style, lineage, and integrity.
Titles, money, fame are only for those actively searching for that. WE, are just your average people who want to know how to effectively use kung fu as it was intended, protection of ourselves, our friends and our family. Note: we are never trying to impress anyone or looking for others approval in what we do. What we do is for US, By Us. Still, we do appreciate the kind words you may have for us and our training. That voice over guy was terrific, and with the exception of a tiny bit of the stock footage, the video and editing was really nice. The effort of setting up shots in scenic places with good students would have an outsized effect!
It seems like the story of how a privileged rich kid became a gangster/ beloved martial arts teacher in the U.S. would be much more compelling, though those stories are pretty hard to swallow these days.
You know, a deep dive into the San Francisco Kung-Fu culture from the bottom up with actual unbiased research would be radically iconoclastic, but would be incredibly interesting and positive for martial arts and all surrounding cultures!

Modern martial artists who say that forms are useless, should know that Choy Lee Fut, one of the most combat-ready styles of kung fu, also contains the most number of forms (about 100).

I see my Si Baak Salvaterra. My Sifu opened the LA/Hollywood kwoon after Si Gung died with Si Baak Wee Gee. My father was Si Hing for awhile.

More famous than Chan Heung. But here, I will educate you. Jeung Hung Sing was 12 (1836) when he studied under Chan Heung. Choy Lee Fut was not complete in this period. Jeung Hung Sing trained under Chan Heung from 1836 to 1841. again, choy lee fut was far from complete at that time. Jeung Hung Sing got kicked out for defending himself against chan heung students. Jeung hung sing was sent to the Monk Ching Cho, where he completed learning the Fut Gar system. so you tell me now, if fut gar was the ONLY style of kung fu he completed, what was his primary style? choy lee fut which he never completed because it was too new, or fut gar which he did complete? jeung hung sing went back to chan heung and later taught him what he learned from the monk ching cho. by sharing what he learned from the monk ching cho with chan heung, jeung hung sing became sort of a co-founder of clf for his contributions to choy lee fut around the years of 1864-1867. then chan heung and jeung hung sing separately developed their gung fu from one another. so let me tell you what is sad. that you people don't know how to do your research properly instead you listen to the lies that you are being told.

Antes de mais nada, quero deixar claro aqui que não quero criar polêmicas e nem conflitos, mas apenas deixar claro o meu desgosto na afirmação que Jeung Hung Sing criou o CLF, e isso está nesse vídeo. Aqui no texto acima que você apresenta, vc diz que ele FOI ALUNO DE CHAN HEUNG.... Ok, isso está correto porque existem registros históricos sobre o Fato... e você também pode afirmar que ele finalizou o estilo (já ouvi também essa versão) embora eu não acredite nisso, as pessoas são livres para acreditarem e falarem o que quiserem. ... essa divisão política entre King Mui X Foshan é antiga... O que pedimos é o reconhecimento do Grande Mestre Chan Heung... Grande abraço.
