Hung Sing = Great Victory Choy Lee Fut was founded by Cheung Hung Sing, student of Lee Yau San, Chan Heung and the Green Grass Monk (who, was actually one of the founders of the Hung Mun Secret Society). Good stuff, SiFu Adam! There’s a good story in the book “Wing Chun Warrior” where Bruce Lee and Duncan Leung challenged a Choy Lee Fut master and we’re beaten easily. When they went back to Ip Man to tell him, he was a little irked by them because he knew they weren’t ready to take on that opponent. Lee moved from Hong Kong shortly after that. There’s more to the story, but this comment is a little lengthy. But please check it out if you get a chance. Than you for sharing!
Hung Kuen and Choi Lee Fut were both practiced by many gangsters in Hong Kong. They used these styles in real fights. Ip Man Wing Chun was practiced mainly by people who were more educated. There are other branches of Wing Chun being practiced by people in the marketplace which was really used for street fights. Ip Man was never a street fighter. Most of the movie stories of Ip Man were unreal.

Okay, let's get into it. If you look at the history of the choy li fut's founder who is Chan Heung, before he created that style, he learned 3 kungfu styles that is Choy Gar (from Choy Fook), Li Gar (from Li Yau San), and Hung Gar (from his uncle). history of hung gar kuen nexttttttt
I am impressed you had a photo of Sifu Jew Leong (SF Hung Sing Choy Lee Fut). :-)
To this day, I still remember my Sifu swept me with his favorite move and all I could do to grab his arm and held on while my feet was swept up in that air at 11 o'clock (so freaking fast and powerful).
Kung Fu one of the most dizzy kinds of fighting styles
Yeah I practiced it for 13 years then went to Wing Chun
I don’t believe you.
@@axelstone3131 Ahah to bad, I even did some competition with it, nothing fancy only forms. We did some sparring but after a while my Shifu did not teach anymore.
@@cesarebianchi1799 competitions are a waste of time
@@axelstone3131 why?
@@axelstone3131 Your funny. Now go sit in the corner, and let the adults talk amongst themselves.
I am planing to do Tibetan Kung Fu in the new year
Li- stands for Li Yao San, which was the student of the monk, and brought the kung fu and carried the message.
awesome video
Hi Adam, I’m pretty new to your channel, if you could, could you please shed light on Wing Chun (not Ip Man family linage?)
And Fut- stands for “Futgah”(these are all phonetic pronunciation‘s mind you, spelling is not my strong suit) which is Buddhism which carries the message of meditation and the yoga which can be the connection between body and spirit which allows you to use empty force in kung fu coupled with Chi Kung/Tai Chi
Super interesante...pero que putada lo de capacidad tan penosa de entender bien el ingles ...
Gran canal, gran sifu, todo muy aplicado... Un saludo, adam! Salud y alegria!
My main stuff has been koga Ryu Ninjutsu and hontai Yoshin Ryu ju jutsu but I have done WC kf by a gut taught by Wong shun Leung guy who taught Bruce Lee
Hey Sifu Adam! Could you perhaps do the similarities between between Wing Chun and Seven star Mantis please? Would love to know! Keep up the great informational vids!!
Those swinging movements from the arms are similar to Lama Pai.
but have nothing to do with lama pai at all.
@@hungsingkwoonusa650 I only said they were similar.
What about white crane? Bruce does a form in his screen test but I can’t find anyone else demonstrating it on UA-cam
Go to YMAA or look up Dr. Yang Jwing-ming. Good luck.
Good Job So
Adam ..you can do em slower so guys can see the hands better it might be better.. but people should just know you can move like that trust me if they watch they know .. but anyways great video!! Nothing wrong just an idea ..
Good story tellr
Open hand attack, in any direction. Clicked on your video because my teacher would never tell me how it was spelled. He would pronounce it Charlie Foot. ha ha ha Now I know and the founder too, thanks.
So do you train in Choy Lee Fut also?
Wow! dope!
Sifu Adams . I have a question for you. Can a wing chun practitioner also learn Choy Lee Fut and use both?
Of course
@@luxurybuzz3681 Thank you. do you offer private training?
That is what martial arts is. Learning from other Warriors. Respecting others fighting styles because most will not fight. The only thing most will do is flab the gab.
Watch out what you you wish for.
@@stefanschleps8758 What are you talking about? I went through the Mcmap and L.I.N.E. training. In the United States Marine Corps. I certainly do not run my mouth to anyone and respect all forms of combat. I have studied several martial arts. I certainly do not hit porous slabs of stone in a park to show that I know how physics work. Its a parlor trick. Does not mean you have any power. You can boast anyone's confidence with slabs of porous stone. Why dont you hit one not made by man? See if you can break it?
@@stefanschleps8758 Maybe try that with a piece of wood. You want to see your confidence drain?
This guy is the boss applesauce. You better take some notes, and ask somebody
Salute
I always felt CLF had to many forms(200) guess that's why I only took up Hung Gar(4) and Wing Chun(3).
400 at least with all of choy lee fut
@@hungsingkwoonusa650 that's to many...
@@game9848 it is. but thats how many we have. Only really need is 3 or 4 sets tho
Mainly repeat movements.
It could really be condense down instead.
@@SI-ln6tc true choy lee fut is about combat. all we need are are good 3 or 4 sets that cover the whole system. a smart martial artist should know we don't need forms to become fighters.
Why do these styles: Choy gar, Li Gar, Fut Gar look so different than Choy Li Fut? There of course are some noticeable skills taken for each when you watch demonstrations side by side, but when it comes to sparring Choy Li Fut looks like an entirely different animal from the 3 founding styles it comes from.
Gangster Fist 👊👊⚔️🥋
aka Wing Chun Street Fighting 🥊😎⚔️
After several months of training according to the, "Special Forces,"
training techniques, I have found most Karate, and Kung Fu styles
to be lacking in true efficiency on the street. They look good to the
'Eye,' but only work if you are extremely skilled, and fast!
Okay so it was influenced by Northern Chinese martial arts, that makes sense given all of the really wide and expansive movements
Is king fu San so the same as this?
no. Choy, Lee, HO, Fut, Hung are 5 family. But San Soo just means Fighting Hands. In other words, the fighting hands of Choy, Lee, Ho, Fut and Hung kung fu families.
What is important is not the history is more how to use the techniques
Histrory is always important. "Those that fail to learn from it are doomed to repeat it."
Bruce lees sidekick is STRAIGHT JHOON RHEE TAEKWONDO! Not choyleefut😒
Did you know Bruce personally? Because Jesse Glover did.
@@AztecUnshaven I didn’t know him personally. I’m relying on pictures of him learning TSD/TKD from jhoon rhee; johoon rhees testimony and me being a tkd black belt and recognizing a tkd skipping side kick when I see one!
Kung fu can only be coupled with Futga and empty force (chi/prana/vayu)
Sweet.
👍🏻
Did anybody ever fall off the Hong Kong rooftops?
👍👍👍👍👍
Hey Adam you’re my buddy please call me at your earliest convenience
Chan heung might be the greatest martial artist besides Bruce lee.
how and why?
The Manchurians never called it the Ching Dynasty. They called it the Ta Ching Empire or simply Ta Ching. You can search for the real name of the Empire. The Ta Ching never called itself China either. The history of China is a mess and is not really what the textbook is telling you.
If you really a man then you don’t have to use🔫. You gonna use✋🤚 you’re hands.
