Can't believe the IL 62 placed first on the list.
It's one of the few Soviet planes that actually was good. Involved in fewer accidents than its American rivals (707 and DC-8) ,had great range and fuel efficiency for the time, and sold fairly strongly even outside the Communist countries
Fewer accidents because not many bought it like the 707 and dc 8 and plus there might be some incidents is well but the soviets loved to hide everything to make their image clean
@@dankichan_6920 Proportionate to the amount sold, the il62 still lost fewer aircraft in crashes. Fair enough the Soviets tried to hide things but with aircraft incidents they never really bothered as it's too hard to hide. They famously grounded the Tu-144 because they knew it was likely to crash, and if it did they had no way of suppressing it

I absolutely agree, Il-62 is one of the better planes on that list. It's low because it is old but when it was launched it had a very good autopilot and it was one of the best planes overall.
Exactly, the IL-62 was actually good. Not to mention very simple mechanically and easy to maintain.

757 is the perfect plane. The next major Boeing plane will be a 757 remake. Few great notes:
Short take off/Landing comparing to the next up aircraft (767), amazing fuel efficiency, great distance for ETOPS (NY-LONDON).

as someone who is icelandic I cannot understand how the 757-200 is on that list its an amazing aircraft and makes icelandair such an iconic airline, also a very safe one

I genuinely got so shocked when I saw THE PENCIL PLANE on the list (A340). Apart from the Air France incident, it's been super safe and I love flying it. Whoever made that website really needs to get their facts right, coz A340 is one of the safest planes to this day. I got extremely offended when I saw that.

I actually got the chance to see a Swiss A340-300 in LPPR/OPO like a month ago, and I didn't like the plane very much before that, but now that I've seen it live I must say it's beautiful

The complaint about the 757 load/unload isn't because of the landing gear height, it's that it takes a long time to load and unload so many people with only a single aisle. I've seen this a few times being in the back of one, takes forever to get off. The other issue is they're not as fuel efficient as more modern aircraft, but that's just because they're older - a newer version of the 757 would be better. A re-engined 757 and convincing people to get off (and get down their bags) aisle-middle-window instead of one row at a time could solve these problems.

I don't see how anyone can agree with the a380 being on this list. From a passenger perspective it is hands down the greatest aircraft. It is undisputedly the quietest and with all that space means first class and business are always the flagship for their airline, although most of us don't get to experience that it's size does mean it fairs pretty well in turbulence and just makes it fell more safe. It has a perfect safety record with exception from engine failures that ended up not resulting in a crash. I think it's one of the greatest planes to spot due to the size and the sound, I also think it's one of the best looking aircraft. Sure the aircraft did end up being a failure but not due to any issues or things brought on by airbus, it was only due to changing times making this aircraft not viable for most airlines, same thing for the 747 now as there just isn't any room for these giants in the current space. If airlines didn't move away from large jets to smaller jets this aircraft would be absolute #1. From passenger to pilot to plane spotter this plane is a legend.

The b747 has cargo versions like the b747-8F which makes its better and longer lasting the a380 will retire very soon while the b747 will still be in service for cargo

@@vxllfire that is an incident not an accident. An accident is an event that is often catastrophic and always involve major injuries and/or deaths. And incident is an event that although is impactful in a negative way but does not cause harm to anyone.
Qantas flight 32 is an incident since the flight suffered an engine explosion (i think) but no one was hurt and the plane landed safely with all occupants unharmed.

I fly as a flight attendant on the Embraer 120 and i just flew with it today, its quite actually a very good turboprop i can confirm to you that.. it flies higher and faster than most turboprops

I think I know why the A340 was on the list. This is maybe, because of the incident on flight EK407, where the engines cold not get the plane off the ground, leaving a tail strike, smokes, and emergency landing. Also the check list had an issue, due to overloading the aircraft. I think, that this is why it is on the list.

The Boeing 757 is FAR from the worst aircraft still in service. It was very popular when it was still in production, it fit the market, and it had a great safety record.
The 737-200 at one point had a great safety record.
I do agree with the A340, CRJ200 and Tupolev-204 however.

Damn... Il-62M is one my personal favourites, so it was quite sad to see it at the top of the list. But I still love this plane!
The authors didn't know what they were talking about. They claimed it had low safety rating but it performed far better than its western rivals (two of which are also still in service)

2:12 i don’t know if you know that they are speaking about the a340- 300 because was slow as hell. Pilot would often complain about the velocity of the plane taking off a runway because the 4 reactors he had were from small comercial planes like 737.
