- continuation of 6 bears playing in our NJ pool. This footage is AFTER the filter was pulled into the pool. The electricity turned off and mama bear kept playing in the water.

I like the human mom's attitude. She seemed happy that the bears could enjoy her backyard. Mama bear was pretty cool too, enjoying a brief dip while the Cubs run amuck. Not much different than humans.

One of the kids was very whiny about her floaty, not seeming to realize how incredibly cool it is that there was a family of bearis playing in her backyard that she could watch.

And FYI, The kid DOES bring up important points: its not safe, and what IF they come back? Which means the kid understands bears can be potentially dangerous and wants a plan to handle it. Yes some children, like YOU, will go "OHH ITS SO COOL" but This child being worried is a perfectly reasonable and logical response. Part of respecting wildlife means keeping yourself safe from them and them safe from you
Give that pool a 5 star rating for durability.
The momma bear couldn't be no more than 230lbs. Those bears are nowhere near as big as brown or polar bears
@KENTUCKY BLUE WATER For perspective, that pvc has to hold back all that water indefinitely, and I promise you, at 8 lbs per gallon, the water weighs orders of magnitude more than a 300 lb black bear.
Edit: asuming a (likely underestimated) 12' diameter and a 4' depth, the pool would hold 27,070 lbs of water.

Emperor TBW Yeah but the design is built to distribute the waters weight across a large surface area, it’s much more impressive that the small point of pvc held up to several hundred pounds of bear pushing off of it. I’ve leaned on a pvc pipe about that size and broke it.
@@tee4222 What wall thickness? There's a reason they don't typically build pools out of schedule 40 pvc. If I did the quick math right, a small section of the pools circumference the same length as a unit which when cubed would contain a pound of water would be holding back about 4,308 pounds. That unit would also be approximately equal to the size of a bears paw. (probably noticeably smaller in fact) the bear is about 300 pounds on the outside, so it shouldn't be shocking that the piping can hold her.
The lady deserves a round of applause for letting the animals have fun and making her children understand

To be fair.. they’re little kids lol! Mum doesn’t care about possessions, kids are most concerned about a cheap floatie that’s easily replaced because in their innocent minds that’s of UPMOST importance haha! It’s really quite sweet. But yes! Lovely thing to capture, albeit a bit scary to think of so many black bears in your garden lol!

I was thinking that too. Isn't 2 or 3 the norm? I think it's great that mama was healthy enough to be able to keep all 5. As sad as it is that they're stuck dealing with people, that mama's rocking it.
Usually 2 or 3 so when I seent 5 I was like WHOA!!!
@@42ayla 2 is most common, then 1 or 3 is the next most common. 5 is super rare. It's not unheard of (though I've only read one case of it happening) for grizzlies to adopt cubs, but most likely their all her's.

This is a perfect teachable moment about the importance of cleaning up your toys when you're not using them. Clean up your toys or the bears will come and play with them and you might not get them back... :-) :-) :-)

I just loved this video! Poor overwhelmed bear mom was trying to have a 5 minute spa bath away from the responsibility of her 5 rambunctious cubs. I think the human mom talking in the background totally identified with her!!

The woman in the video deserves kudos for being so level-headed about things.
She was not that levelheaded. If she was she would have gotten those complaining, whyning voices to quiet and redirect their focus towards anything going on other than worrying about stuff...which she was too. This family is very childlike in their mentality and behaviours.

Wow, you are one low-stress mom. What a teachable moment. Good for you.
What an amazing blessing to be able to watch this, and get it on film. Well worth the cost of replacing some floaties. I grew up in Colorado, and one night our dog jumped the back fence, ran around to the front of the house, smashed through the screen door and hid under a bed. We went out back to see what had scared her, and there was a large black bear digging through our rubbish bin.
Animals are so interesting. I couldn't help thinking that this back yard served as an amusement park for momma bear and her cubbies. Like she decided to get them out of the "house" and to a park to burn off some of their energy and just have fun and then they all probably left to get some lunch.

This is a once in a lifetime experience that the children got to enjoy, they will forever remember this. Great job mom for showing them caring and kindness and not getting upset that they ruined your rafts and other things in the yard. Great lesson on how to protect nature and to show the children animal families are no different than human families. We all like to have fun!!!
The only children who seemed to enjoy this was the bear children. But I am happy they did.
