the children cared more about possibly losing their material things than the awsome miracle of nature and seeing real bears in their backyard . when i was a kid i would have thought that seeing the bears was way cooler than not losing one of my toys . their mom should have immediately used that moment as an opportunity to teach her kids that their toys are just material things that can be replaced but seeing the bears up close like that was something that they would rarely see in their life .

He should have made the child stay quiet and restrain/ remove the dog. Then weigh up the losses vs pros. Either he make the bests go from the outset or stay quiet. There is no danger. He should tell his family how cute this is but explain that moma bears are vicious if anyone approached the cubs.
The father was a cry baby worried about a cheap pool you buy at Walmart . Like the mother said we will buy another one ,you herd dad say we won't get one until next year.hes a kind of guy who will see a stray dog dieing and just ignore it.

Those bears had the BEST DAY EVER! 😂 Playing on the slide and the swings and with balls and toys. And splashing in a pool. That was amazing I think they will remember this day forever. ❤️💫🌍
I would send the video to the pool manufacturer with a congratulating letter on the quality of their product, so they could advertise it as bear resistant.
This had to be a once in a lifetime opportunity and this dad couldn’t shut up long enough to just enjoy it. I’m glad that child has an awesome mom, hopefully they still have a chance to learn to appreciate what life has to offer if we just shut our mouths and open our eyes!

Calling animal control at that point was probably a wise idea if the Mama bear was getting too comfortable, as they get very aggressive when they have cubs. She was looking out for everyone. From her deep sigh I bet she does a lot of damage control by softening Dad's negativity.

How wonderful, what an experience to have a family of bears visit. The moms attitude was great and she appreciated what she was seeing but the father was a whiny baby who didn’t seem to realise what a special thing was happening in his garden

It's part of growing, learning, and normal childhood development. Nothing about kids' reactions to bears in their new pool says anything about the human race as a whole. The kids had a new toy with which to cool off in the summer, and now they don't. It makes sense that they're bummed and confused. If they were a couple years older they could probably see it for what it is. You're expecting adult (or at least higher-level) processing from a 3 and 5 year old. Don't be obtuse.

Momma bears keep cubs with them often for over a year. That was most probably two sets of cubs with her - last year's and this year's.

Well sir, I totally appreciated the video, but having the ability to use my vision, my hearing and my brain I am able to not only be like the mother and enjoy the sight of the beautiful creatures enjoy the pool but understand how the Dad puts a negative spin on the event. The pool may or may not be damaged but a critical thinker would know that it’s too late to worry about any possible damage to the pool and see the opportunity to help the children make it a memorable and positive experience. Which is exactly what the mother was doing. I am glad the dad stopped and mom continued to point out the joy.

Seems like the mum was the only person who knew how special this moment was. Child complaining about her toy, and dad (I presume) talking about the damage being done to the pool....just so frustrating.
you know whats frustrating is instead of thanking them for sharing this video and maybe leaving a more appropriate comment to get your point across especially the ones who had negative things to say its all well and good in hindsight... your all whining about the family who took the time to share it with you and that's the appreciation they get for sharing it . all the b.s. about oh why the kid and dad are whining is totally uncalled for... you really don't know how you would act if it was happening in your yard. like I said its all well and good in hindsight. if you don't like what they have to say then don't watch it! there's also a mute button ...all this crap about how this one or that one was raised or how they should act when bears come into their yard is whats wrong with this country everybody wants control over everyone get a life and move on. and again YOU really don't know how you would react if it happened to you... and now would you want your child to see all the negative responses Mom seems very level-headed I'm sure she could do way better on her own without all the negativity

Yes, Mom was so cool with everything UNTIL her float started to get ripped up by the cubs then she said, “go tell dad to call animal control “ which is what dad wanted to do in the beginning.
Frank Daniels ....... Ikr then she definitely wasn't a happy mummy. I am so happy that mama bear didn’t electrified herself and the cubs in the pool, cause that would have been traumatising to the kids.

That's a very productive mama bear. I've never seen a bear with 5 cubs. Hope they all survived and grew healthy

Bears getting use to and feeling comfortable with spending their time where your small children play and hang out is not beautiful. They should have scared the bears off immediately with loud sounds. Bears eat children.

UPDATE: ALL 6 bears have been seen in the neighborhood, along with another family of 5. They all made it through the winter and the hunting season. :)
