- The Q Sugar Weasel aka the poor mans Honey Badger. This offering from Q is one of their budget friendly offerings without sacrificing quality, it's one of the nicer AR-15's for under 2k. The Sugar Weasel has great aesthetics, solid trigger, Radian Charging handle & safety, adjustable gas block, tapered muzzle, and a Cherry Bomb muzzle device. Really a perfect rifle to suppress, especially the Sugar Weasels that are chambered in 300blk.

It’s only a poor man’s honey badger if you don’t already have a honey badger like I do. I picked up a cute sugar weasel for $950 from my gun shop. Basically, I won a gun drawing and I traded the Smith & Wesson Sport II and negotiated. I think I got a pretty good deal. I have a ton of entry level ARs so I figured I would step up to a mid-high tier. Also, I got a honey badger SBR about a year ago and it’s easily my favorite gun that I have. It’s suppresses unbelievably well with subs.

Which suppressor do you use? I just purchased the 16" Sugar Weasel.
@@gronthomson well if you got one of ther huns you should use their suppressor because that's what fits their muzzle device... the trash panda
Wish more companies would do the q design for gas block security
It’s a solid lock up for sure
Q sells the gas block separately, but I don’t think anyone else makes barrels threaded for it.
@@praharin yea It’s q or KAC if one wants that design. I have had pretty good luck with dimples and loctite. I have one barrel pinned but I’ve heard tale of staking gas blocks but haven’t dived too deep into it.
I like the Sugar Weasel, a gun company with a sense of humor. If you're a bad guy intent on malfeasance you're not going to do it with a Sugar Weasel. You're going to want a "Bonecrusher 392 Lightning" or "Black Plague X51LX Nighthawk."
Nor does the average criminal spend that much money on a firearm
@@TiberiousGib It's pretty nice. Local shop has a Black Friday sale. My wife already learned how to play golf a little and it's something we have started having fun doing together. Of course she wanted (and deserved I might add) the Versace of golf clubs. Now she wants to get into going to the steel target range with me and again, no rattletrap of an AR will do and she really likes the Sugar Weasel. She started out wanting the Nemo chambered 223 Wylde so I guess the Sugar Weasel is a huge bargain in comparison. I have a PWS which wasn't really cheap so I think it's fair she gets something nice. Haven't popped the Sugar Weasel but just checking it out at the shop it seems really well put together and the trigger is what she called "Canik Awesome." I'm pretty impressed she made the cross comparison pistol to rifle.
@@TiberiousGib A crap AR is kind of a beating to shoot, lot of people have a heavy triggered AR gathering dust.

Hello, I have this same exact rifle. Love the rifle, probably the best Ar I have ever fired. I also thought my gun was running over gassed for factor. But after a quick call to my gun store it turns out the bolt is running the Rounds so fast it kicking them forward off the brass deflector. Hope this helps, great video.

Honey Badger is illegal where I’m at, behind enemy lines, favorite gun that’s ever existed. Mostly for the history behind 300 blackout and the whole replacing the mp5 with aac. Saw it today at the gun store and fell in love closest thing I can get to my honey badger.

I built a sugar weasel/honey badger copy cat with reversed colors and ADM billet upper/lower, geissele rail, proof carbon 11.5 556 barrel. Rail, grip, and stock are all fde, and the foregrip and recievers are grey. Only spend around $2200 on the rifle not including my eotech

Luckily this was 16” barrel, cherry bomb on a short barrel is tough
I just added a tip to my Sugar Weasel in 300 BO and it makes a world of difference

You really should take advantage of Cloud Defense’s cable management that is built into their pressure switch. You also might look into Valhalla Tactical’s BALDR light body w/ integrated mount so you can get that light tucked in as tight to the rail as possible.. Just my 2 cents.

I have the HB SBR and the 16 inch SW, have to say the SW is better IMO, the Q trigger is better then my G$ trigger, the option to replace a non proprietary stock is great I went with B5 Sopmod. $1000 less of a cost. Only thing I changed on the SW besides the stock is the BCG

Hey jb, I recently bought a 16inch SW. it’s advertised as a mid-length gas system but I’m almost certain it’s a carbine length. What’s your experience?

I didn’t hear it mentioned in the video but the gas block has an index pin and the barrel has a notch for it too. It’s a pretty solid lock up system with the nut too.

@TheBMAN104 I love my bcm 14.5 mid length. I prefer it over DD. That being said the weasel and dd r3 are next on my radar. But for the price, you'll be very happy with bcm recce14.
