Scatter Chart Hack: How to Build a Waffle Chart Using Native Power BI Visuals

Need a Waffle Chart for your Power BI tool? Is it your understanding that you'll need to download a 3rd party visual or create one from scratch? Not true, my friend! With a little cleverness, we can easily create a waffle chart by just manipulating the native scatter plot visual in Power BI. And it only takes about 10 minutes!

Instead of hard-coding the colors into the measure, I created a measure that just tests to see if a dot is less than or equal to the percentage, returning a 1 or a 0.
DotColorTF = if(SELECTEDVALUE(WaffleTable[DotValue])
