In today’s video I look at the top 10 best decks in the format POST naic!
King of deck building... King of deck explanations...King of consistent Pokémon content.
🐐
Hell yea 💯
Absolutely right. This man is the goat.
King of D riding
I haven’t seen anyone mention Gholdengo recently. Ive been playing it exclusively this season and have been very successful so far. Favourable into raging bolt, lugia, chien pao, future hands, regi, etc. And can hold its own vs garde, lost box, dragapult.
I’ve been running the item heavy poke stop build with prime catcher and 2x copies of palkia and palkia vstar.
I'm not sure about the Lugia and Gardevoir matchups, but I do agree that Gholdengo is pretty good right now. I'm running it with Hyper Aroma for the consistent set up, and I have loved that. Getting 3 Gholdengos on the bench on turn 2 is so good. The lack of gust options can be a problem sometimes though.
@@kered13 In those matchups you need to get value from greninja and/or palkia.
Vs Lugia you’re ideally taking out a Minccino or two early with greninja/palkia and then snipping Lugias, iron hands, lumineon, blood moon to secure the final prizes. If they don’t manage their special energy you can force them to run out of steam.
Same general plan vs garde. Trying to secure at least 2 gholdengo, greninja and a pokestop is crucial to survive iono spam. Be mindful of what you bench because they will counter catcher. Cancelling cologne the manaphy and knock out 2x Kirlia with greninja. Vacuum away the tool to take a knockout on driftloon/scream tail. Boss or counter catcher 2x gardevoir ex for the win.
I haven’t tried any other ace specs but rarely struggle with establishing my board. Prime catcher allows you to draw 4 between 2 gholdengos and make sure you’re attacking the right mon.
Vs decks with majority single prize attackers most winning games follow the same script of taking out 2x single prizes with greninja/palkia and then gusting their 2 prizers in for gholdengo to take care of.
Some decks are decent, but no one good is playing them at bigger stages.
Gholdengo was piloted by Jesse Parker's group and it did alright. Nothing too crazy, but still put them at day 2
Meme deck
I do agree with you LDF that lost box does gold if it has a good pilot using it. I will say that with the high amount of Gardevoir played at naic the deck was able to thrive since it tends to be favored in that matchup.
I never saw it being favored at all. Flutter mane and Klefki are too good.
Is very Garde Favored when the Lost Zone Player is average or bad. When it is good, he will stabilize and can maaaybe mount a come back it looks very 50/50 depending on how fast Garde can access the floodgates
Hedrick is one of the best players in the world and he needed a coin flip to win while NEVER being in a super dominant positiin.
You got a decklist?
Regidrago gonna be wild with Shrouded Fable
Yeah with kyurem its gonna be insane
@@BariumLR and haxorus
Haxorus is garbage. The kyurem is busted tho
@@easyygo3008 knocking a pokemon out because he has special energy regardless of status is pretty good. And base 230 atk. Fits in the box
@@TheFDreamOHKO Blissey :D
I can’t believe I get one of the first messages on an LDF video, keep it up!
I think Dialga Metang should've at least made the honerable mentions. Almost no one plays it but it's so good!
My favorite deck but a couple of the new stronger decks are giving it trouble. Its unfavored against lugia, lost box and gardevoir.
But its still a deck that can make day 2 at a bigger tournament!
I just beat Regidrago Vstar. With, and I kid you not, Walking Wake ex/Palkia Vstar/ Klawf poison. Of all things to be way too powerful, Walking Wake ex was unexpected. I've been winning consistently. No way to prevent at least 100 damage up to 240 damage, instant attack going second, and poison that can go up to 5 damage counters. Beat Snorlax stall, Dialga Vstar couldn't take off, And now Regidrago. Sorry for the lengthy comment. But I wanted to bring this to your attention. If you are interested in what monstrosity I've created, I will gladly post my personal deck list as well. It's so weird.
I'm interested in the list! Thanks
@@jackcooper3193 here it is bro:
Pokemon:
3 brute bonnet (poison ones of course)
3 Walking Wake ex
3 Klawf
2 origin forme Palkia V
2 origin forme Palkia VStar
1 Lumineon V
1 Radiant Sneasler
Trainers:
3 Irida
3 professor Sada's Vitality
2 Arven
2 Iono
2 Boss's orders
1 Atticus
2 Perilous Jungle
1 Town Store
4 Nest Ball
3 Ultra Ball
1 Hisuian Heavy Ball
2 Switch Cart
1 Earthen Vessel
1 Lost Vacuum
4 Ancient Booster Capsules
1 Maximum Belt
Energy:
4 Double turbo energy
8 water energy
I’m confused, what are the walking wakes for in the ancient box list you showed? There’s no water energy
They're only meant to be discarded fueling the roaring moons. Same function as lists that run 4 koraidons with no fighting energy. Ancient box now favours walking wake since it has a 1 retreat cost instead of koraidons 2 retreat cost. Hope this explanation helps.
Lugia can tech drapion or whatever, that's not the problem, what makes Lugia underperforming is its consistency. Actually the deck got nothing to improve consistency and even has stoped playing masterball. It's still the same old bad pile for bo3 tournaments.
Yeaaaahhh..
Is not the consistency. It can't adapt to the meta as well as it would like to.
There are a bunch of MU's where you need to go second, but you are building lugia to go first with carmine and stuff.
Youcan build a much more consistent Lugia deck that set-ups more often than not at the cost of losing a bunch of energies early.
As you can see, consistency is not the core issue at all, is the strategy as a whole
@@easyygo3008 I mean, you can't build a consistent Lugia deck, that exactly means it's the issue of consistency. It's the core problem that everyone knows about Lugis post rotation, and it has never changed.
Solid list only thing I would switch is replace turbo hands for ancient box
can someone please tell me why all gardevoir decks play cresselia now?
I've been playing Dragapult EX/Xatu at locals recently and everytime I face the Dragapult/Pidgeot deck I beat it. I honestly think xatu is the stronger one, but I definitely see cards I could sub into my deck to make it a little stronger (i.e. neo upper energy instead of Unfair stamp). Imo you have to have energy acceleration with Dragapult EX
Xatus is terrible.
It didn't perform at NAIC for a reason. Pidgeot is much better. You anecdotically stating that you beat them says nothing. Results are matching what everyone was already speculating: Xatu is bad.
You going to worlds?
The goat of ptcg 🐐
The goat of PTCG is Tord and the goat of PTCGL is trust your pilot
True true 🙏🏽
what counters ancient box?
Charizard has like 70% win ratio vs ancient box. Other decks like control /stallax do very well vs it
Zard?
I was surprised that garde did so well lately there seemed to be hardly any in the top 8 compared to some of the other decks
No love for the ninja frog? What a shame
I am playing greeninja in a tournament and I am satisfied with it 😊😊
Lessgooo Turbo Hands top 10 haha we take that! sick content as always man!
I always run devolution in my guardy deck because it's just too good against any stage 2 pokémon
Is giratina vstar dead now? It doesn't seem to be too awful
No one is playing it, but deck still has good win ratios. Is a similar situation to chienpao and zard (both of those were thought dead and they overperdormed at NAIC).
The main issue is the Garde MU which is awful for tina, so there isn't much incentive to play it atm.
@@easyygo3008 thanks for the advice
Awful vs Gardy
Wonder how regidrago box is going to look like next format
Why use the pidgey with 60 hp instead of the usual 50 hp one? Is it because of dragapult decks?
Yes.
Otherwise, they KO the pidgey and use the extra 10 to set-up your 70HP mander for the next attack
Also, TBH, call for family doesn't come up often.
It can happen and that game where you 100% needed it will change, but is very very rare
For the Pult matchup
Tho tbh I run a split of 50/60 Pidgey cause Call for Family has saved my unplayable hands a couple times
Lugia is too much overated
But most of the decks can beat lugia
I feel like if u put regidrago vstar instead of lugia to will be way better
People sleeping on greninja ex. Easy snipes all day in this format. I have a spicy build that has been crushing ladder on live.
After next set dark will take over.
Next set changes little to nothing. Is still garde, bolt and zard with a few dark, Lugia and dragapult splashes
And Greninja EX really isn't being slept on. Card is underpowered.
Greninja EX is cheeks
It only finished about halfway at NAIC. It’s a fun deck but not super competitive against other top decks right now
Wait a sec, I don't quite understand. What makes the charizard match up so bad for raging bolt?
after bolt takes one KO Zard can KO Ogrepons and once bolt has taken 2+ prizes there isn't anything Zard can't knock out
Teal Mask one shots zard…every time..
@@paochicken
That doesn't mean zard is unfavored into Raging bolt
The reason as of why is favored into bolt is the prize mapping.
Charizard has clean 2-2-2 paths and bolt usually needs to do weird stuff like 1-2-1-1-2 or 1-2-2-2 to win and such due to radiant charizard hard countering bolt or zard being able to outpace you in the prize race.
Also, small stuff like benching squakabilly or getting an early 1st KO (or them running belt) screws bolt beyond belief.
That being said, bolt can win sometimes, but when you face a good zard player, you are going to have a bad time as bolt
@@easyygo3008 the prize mapping argument just doesn’t do it for me. That means every deck has an advantage against Raging bolt.
It simply just isn’t true, any deck can have a bad hand.
Again, Teal one shots zard.
Not to mention the draw power in Bilt is crazy fast.
I have yet to lose to Zard irl yet.
It honestly upsets me that Gardevoir got more popularity because when I started playing Charizard was the big bad boy and everyone was playing that so I wanted to play something away from that. I started playing Gardevoir and I enjoyed it. No one else is playing it and then out of nowhere Gardevoir is gigantic and makes me feel like I'm just going for the big meta deck when in reality it was just a nothing deck that I decided upon.
You have an advantage because you know Gardy better than all the new bandwagoners. Also Gardy has plenty of opportunities to make variations and teched versions so make it your own unique version
cool
lugia overrated 😟😟
Comment number 4 yessir
Gardy is only good cause zard fell off
