Pressing "0" on my numpad at the beginning in rhythm with you saying "Song Generator" is more than vaguely inspiring me to loop it and add all sorts of nasty drums and keys to turn it into a banger.
Rotten the snowman in smiling friends becomes a waves, so when you said they are waves in the sky I immediately thought of that character being in heaven or something. Idk, clouds in the ocean, I guess clouds are like stored memories, like on a cloud on a computer. So clouds in the ocean means like forgotten memories or putting the bad things in the past behind. Idk
Huh, hold on now, we've got some arena guitars, lots of whoahs, comforting but meaningless lyrics... Boys I think you were about one "I love you Jesus" away from just making Christian Contemporary Music
I think there are a lot of Christian songs with way deeper meaning than 90% of nowadays pop songs. But churches don't use them during worships and some might label them as just pop songs mentioning Jesus.
okay I thought “silent lullaby” was the perfect bullshit title, but the moment you got to “truth never spoken, / a silent lullaby” those are genuinely intriguing lyrics
Absolutely. Not speaking your truth is equivalent to trying to help a child sleep by... doing nothing. You don't help anyone or anything, you can't change the world, without starting with a spoken truth.
I know this was a silly one, but I've been struggling lately and this just hit something right. I'm now crying at work for like no reason. Thank you guys
That’s music for you. Sometimes it doesn’t matter that it’s not deep, or that the writer didn’t mean what you hear. If it hits you, then it’s real. Hope things improve for you ❤
Have we ever gotten backstory on the studio? Are they renting it out every video or do they own it? Also, Andrew and Rob don’t live near each other right? I love SONIC BOOM I think a Q&A episode would be awesome.
My guess is that they do one week of hard work and lot’s of fun and walk out with half a year worth of content. No idea how close to reality that guess is though 🙃
@@DominusFeles It is pretty close! From an interview I read somewhere, it's just that, they rent it for the week and they film the whole season there, several videos each day
It's the B Roll with the "house band" that confuses me. At first I thought they pre recorded canned reactions, but then the reactions kept getting more specific, so they must have to get dressed up and set up for the house band B Roll after every song is completed.
I'd say I'd describe this one as "fluffy"/"floaty" for sure, and probably add in "spacious." Smooth's in there somewhere, I think. Either way, I care a whole lot less about the song generator part and a whole lot more about yall jamming together and having fun making music with weird instruments and cool ideas. And you positively nailed jamming together and having fun, those were some weird instruments, and you had some very cool ideas. You rocked this video, 100%.
Genuinely I'm so constantly blown away by y'all's ability to much SUCH GOOD MUSIC even when being a bit silly about it. Loooove this song and all the things you make on Sonic Boom.
I always listen to the music before watching the video to get My own take on it before I know how they made it. This song reminded me of like what the feeling of love is in other contexts.
Dude... They should get Ok GO to come on Sonic Boom. Those guys would totally do it, they're fun as shit and always looking to explore new concepts. lol
To me this song is about finding the most unexpected things in the most unexpected places- like finding highs(clouds) in lows (oceans), hope (fire) in dark times, my favorite is peace (feather) in a storm (tide)
I'm imagining Justin Bonitz teaching Andrew how to scream/harsh vocal without throwing out his voice. I'd love to see it. Great work as always, Sonic BOOM!
Love this show so much and can't wait for this year's FOO. The song turned out great but I really wish you explored some of Rob's "goofier" concepts. I swear I could sense some gold there.
Yes,those 3 chord progression is great. Like Ozzy - See you on the other side song. Same extra feeling 😂 C, Ami, F. Or G, Emi , C. I like 😂 Pink Floyd vibe..
It' so amazing what you all can do in an hour! I think this song is actually inspiring not because of its lyrics but that its making me want to go finish more of my song projects!
I was just thinking about how I needed more song generator episodes in my life literally 30 seconds before seeing this video pop up in my feed, you guys read my mind
I love those Japanese/Indian "Keyed Dulcimers". Have a collection of them, such a unique sound ❤ I think I first fell in love with them again, after watching your video (I've had an Indian one for many years, but it sat in the closet, until I saw your video). Also have a collection of banjo ukes, I inherited from my dad, but they all need new heads. Think it's time to fix them up, after being inspired by this video. Thanks for sharing this world of world music 🎶🌎🎶
That is way better than most of the music around lately and it certainly inspired me. Nice to see the taishōgoto again, I have got to get me one of those.
Every time I see you guys making music, I get super motivated to do it myself. Thank you so much for the inspiration and please keep making amazing and beautiful music. You are awesome, Thank you
It was a goosebump-raising song for me. The last Saturday of the month is always a great day for me with a new video. I love watching you two and your positive chemistry. Thank you Andrew and Rob for your friendship and the wonderful music you bring to us. The world is a better place with your music in it. Looking forward to First of October!
Rob looks so much more calm, happy, and overall, stable. And it makes me so happy to see him done struggling with all the sh*t that's been bugging him lately. Can't to see the next 1st of October video ! We love you guys
First of October should definitely take place at this studio this year! The vibe is great and there is room for so many instruments! The inspiration would be endless!
The "clouds in the ocean, waves in the sky" Reminds me of how in the nirvana song breed. Kurt said "we can plant a house, we can build a tree. Its backwards but it works
I love the lyrical trope of repeatedly using "it's like" except never once in the entire song explaining what "it" actually is 13:28 also petition to have them make "slimy bourgeoisie" next
Great worship song guys! As someone playing on the worship team tomorrow it definitely sounds like CCM not all CCM is that fluffy in lyrics but the sound is definitely Christian praise song
As any piece of art is always a fresh canvas for recipient to paint on, you were - from the very first minute - set up to fail. In the best way possible.
the song has quite some potential, it’s the type of song you play last on your concert and the crowd still keeps singing, while the band has left already. not quite „hey jude“ yet, but also not too far off.
In all this nothingness, I still find meaning in the sound. Also, Rob's lower register really suited this song, it sounded really warm when he first came in!
Definitely fluffy, but I don’t know why I feel the Smooth was lost somewhere. Not sure what it would mean and the song was well done either way. Great job, love the format.

You've effectively written something between Coldplay and Christian Comtemporary Music
I CAME HERE TO SAY AS MUCH 😂
So just coldplay?
Heey, i wanted to write this :D
Yep. Big hillsong vibes.
If Phil Wickham an COIN collabed

Huh, hold on now, we've got some arena guitars, lots of whoahs, comforting but meaningless lyrics... Boys I think you were about one "I love you Jesus" away from just making Christian Contemporary Music
I couldn't put my finger on it 😂
How are Christian Contemporary music lyrics meaningless? "Samey".... yes... but far from meaningless
@@Tomhug03 They're all just vague references to jesus, the songs don't actually mean anything more than "praise jesus."
I think there are a lot of Christian songs with way deeper meaning than 90% of nowadays pop songs. But churches don't use them during worships and some might label them as just pop songs mentioning Jesus.
This is so true!!! I played drums in a church for like 20 years. It’s uncanny how true this is.
okay I thought “silent lullaby” was the perfect bullshit title, but the moment you got to “truth never spoken, / a silent lullaby” those are genuinely intriguing lyrics

@samgodzwa7927 the band probably already has it on the setlist for tomorrow 😂
circa 2013

It's like pants on your hat,
A friend's hand on your face.
This should be titled, “We accidentally wrote every Elevation Worship song”
Yep! It should!! :D
circa 2013
Still love how you guys made an entire Show just to train for First Of October.
Honestly put the instrumental on every stock music website in the world. This royalty free inspirational so hard.
Love that you guys not taking it seriously still produces a song that it's better than some of the songs in the charts at the moment.
Have we ever gotten backstory on the studio? Are they renting it out every video or do they own it? Also, Andrew and Rob don’t live near each other right? I love SONIC BOOM I think a Q&A episode would be awesome.
I think they rent it out for a day or two and then film the whole season in one go
Yeah it's Noble St. Studios in Toronto
My guess is that they do one week of hard work and lot’s of fun and walk out with half a year worth of content. No idea how close to reality that guess is though 🙃

This song sounds like tracking for some small Disney movie
released around 2013-ish

...or 2013 indie acousti-pop...
The most worship thing Andrew and Rob have ever made 😮
Songs that could be played at church and no one would notice
ngl, kinda sounds like a worship song 😅
EXACTLY like a worship song haha
i worked in a church, and this definitely is.. i just don’t remember what it’s called 😭..
Agreed! It totally is! (don't you just love when God does stuff like that without us knowing it?) :D
I always listen to the music before watching the video to get My own take on it before I know how they made it. This song reminded me of like what the feeling of love is in other contexts.
10:34 I feel like the music video could have just been them nodding at each other in support the entire time
This is very close to being a U2 song
You guys should totally do the album art challenge again! 'Que Pasa' is my favourite song you guys have made so far.
10:42 the arm gestures here totally makes me want to see a slow mo OK GO style music video of Rob and Andrew in a cloud of explosions 😂☁️

They should get Ok GO to come on Sonic Boom.

i need a sonic boom x ok go collab
It always amaze me what amazing musicians are Andrew and Rob
This is worship on LSD
This is gonna blow up in Christian Summer Camp. And the kids are going to be like THIS IS DEEP.
Have I said enough that Sonic Boom is one of my favorite things on youtube? Because it is, and I will continue to say it.

Legit moved to tears. The vagueness lets each person fill in their own meaning.
Good but so cheesy haha, this is like highschool graduation video music

Honestly I love Robs voice ❤ it’s so soft.
Pretty cool writing process :) The song is okay and I think it does a good job staying on the border of serious and funny.

So this song syncs with Faithfully (journey). I was losing my mind this whole episode thinking “why do I kinda know this song?”
Only thing that would make this song better, it would be a fat 80s style guitar solo
Reminds me of Faithfully by Journey mostly
I would love to see this done as a live show on stage with audience feedback deciding certain elements of the song. Each show would be so unique!
Congratulations, you have created Christian Rock lol
