I’m not sure how I found your channel, but I’m so glad I did. I’m so happy to see you’re doing well, your positivity is just contagious even to non amputees 💕
Thank you so much! That means a lot to me, I'm so glad that I can spread something positive - please know that you are spreading that right back to me with your encouragement and kindness!
Like Haley, searching YT I also came across your channel. with a sickly fascination to find out who would be writing about their own amputation! Wow you are one brave person, so positive. With time things will come together, time is a great healer. BTW, you are definitely a pro on Crutches!
Hi...Thank you for sharing your journey...my husband of 12 years had foot issues went to the hospital a week ago and discovered he was a diabetic...they want to remove his foot and tonight as we chatted in his hospital room he told me he is scared of not seeing his foot ...that he will go into depression....I told him with a prosthesis his foot issues will be over...sorry for rambling it has been a long week..thanks for listening
Please don't ever apologize for rambling, I can only imagine a piece of how devastating that must be for him - and for you. There is so much grief associated with the loss of a limb, and the process is different for everyone. I hope that he - and you - can get all the support needed to get through this. He will absolutely get a prosthetic - but in my experience, the grief won't end there. Losing a significant part of your body isn't something that goes away just because we have incredible medical technology that allows us to be able to learn how to walk still. He will absolutely be able to get through it, though. There may be rough moments but you guys can do this. If there is anything I can do or any questions I can answer (if you want to request a specific video or anything I can answer, I absoutely will), please let me know. My thoughts are with you.
You have a beautiful, deep voice. That’s actually why I started watching your videos. Congrats on your journey! You are a very strong person and quite inspirational actually! Even for non-amputees. Hugs from Paris.
As the time for my presurgical appointment slowly draws near, your videos are helping me come to terms with what lies ahead of me. Thank you for all of your hard work and time spent making these videos. Leslie
you have that rare combination of strength courage and self assuredness that people find comforting in any situation they find themselves feeling down thank you
I love how much your channel has grown, keep spreading the positivity! I'm still recovering from the leg surgery I has on 10.24.18. Mine is a slow recovery, too!
I’m so happy to see how happy you are and strong most people aren’t when they get a limb removed. I’m glad that your foot problems have came to an end❤️
Hahaha I questioned putting it in the video like seven times then I was like "screw it, this is honestly how I danced BEFORE losing a leg too, so might as well embrace it!" I'm a klutz, uncoordinated, and I'm learning to embrace it. Glad you liked it lol!
It's 03:23am where I am and I've just watched all of your videos from start to finish! 😇 It's been a good bit of motivation for me. I struggle with several chronic illnesses (yawn) and am back at Uni, but struggling physically quite a bit. It's always encouraging to see other people pushing themselves and fighting for the life they want, so thank you for that. ❤ I'm looking forward to following your journey, especially for when you take your first few steps! So exciting!
K oh my gosh the fact you watched all of them sincerely means so much to me! Wow. Thank you. And I am so, so sorry to hear of the chronic illness and trouble you are facing...as someone who has lived for years in and out of doctors offices (for this and chronic migraines among other things), I know how exhausting and hard it can be. I applaud you for being back at uni! It sounds like YOU are fighting for the life you want, as hard as it is. Keep it up...I know it’s exhausting. But step by step we can get there 💜
This is so helpful! I injured my ankle a few weeks ago and am really struggling with getting stuff done the way I used to, mostly because I haven't figured out how to efficiently carry things yet. Seeing you and other people on crutches really helps with figuring these things out!
Dancing with the crutches, Jo you are hilarious! When you were going up and down the stairs I was holding my breath, you are doing amazing with the crutches especially since you said your balance is normally not that good
Haha I'm so glad you enjoyed that! In case you were wondering...I'm a total dork. And have no plans of changing that anytime soon. ;-) And aw thank you lol, I mean I don't actually think I'm a pro...but if it was an olympic sport, I'd definitely want to start training!
The UA-cam algorithm shuffled you to my home page, and I've been binge watching your journey. You're an amazing person, thank you for sharing these new steps down the road your life is taking you along. I had to laugh out loud when I saw you 'Dancing on your crutches'. I can't wait to see you running on your new foot, but try not to leave hubby in the dust, lol. Thank you for bringing us along, you are an inspiration. I have a friend who has had a similar injury but, pardon the pun here, he is very attached to his foot. Ankle fusion was the last operation he underwent. If and when he's ready to consider amputation, I'll certainly be sharing these videos with him. All the best!
Wow, you are super amazing, words can't even explain it. You're just so incredibly positive and determined. I love your videos and your personality, as it just puts a smile on my face. I know your journey is only going to get better from here. Best wishes, and thank you for sharing your experience with us. 💕❤️💕
I'm so happy I happened to come across your Channel. You are such a beautiful soul. Your videos are so motivational and positive. Even if I myself am not an amputee. I appreciate this as someone whom suffers from chronic pain. Stay beautiful inside and out gorgeous.❤
Brittany Bors Hearing from someone else in chronic pain always simultaneously encourages me and helps me feel less alone and also breaks my heart because I know how exhausting and so, so hard it can make days...but thank you, SO much for your kind and incredible words! I’m so glad I could help in any way! And so sorry you are dealing with different, but somewhat similar, pain issues. 💜
thank you for posting! i tend to study this sort of thing, and you have such a great positive attitude! purely inspiring! the world needs more people like you! i wish only the the best for you in this journey, as hard as it has been, and will be. but i believe you'll be glad with your choice in the end. stay positive and it will be great for you, a new pain free world awaits!
I run a real estate business! I'm hoping to get back to it within a few weeks or a month full time, but trying to really focus and take the time I need to fully recover. Thanks for your lovely comment!!
I was that way, didn't want to use a walker cause those are for old people. I laughed though the first time I did it because my muscle memory made me bend my knee to lift my foot off the ground which was no longer there. I did that quite a bit before I realized I could leave my leg straight. I never had a cast on mine after amputation, only ace bandages.
Thanks for the video. I call my crutches stilts (like those kids use). I have forearm (or elbow) crutches, they have some advantages, since you may use the mobility of your elbow, to more easily and faster push up doors or kick stuff out of the way.
love the colour of your house before that fancy scooter i had to put my leg up on my walker or do the bum shuffle up and down stairs now my arm crutches help love your videos such an inspiration for others
You are such a sweet woman!! You’re such an inspiration!! (On an unrelated note, I didn’t know you had cats and rats as pets!!)Thanks for sharing this video!!
Cool video. Your crutch skills are amazing. Especially when you carry cup a crutch. The dancing part was beautiful. Good choreography. Crutch usage esthetic and funny at the same time.
I love the snippets we get to see of your house. It's so pretty! Could we get a proper tour?? I'd love to see the whole place. Especially love the wall colour.
Khzunara absolutely!! I’ll do it as soon as I’m walking more regularly on my new leg so I can get about the whole house (not that it’s big, you’ve seen 2/3 of it haha!)! Thank you!!!
I'm curious as a horseback rider, did the horse fall on you? Or was it just a bad fall onto your foot? My mind is blown how strong and positive you are. You're inspirational!
Brittany Klein oh thank you so much girl I truly appreciate that! 💜💜 So good question, I never clarified that. I was galloping in an open space and the horse I was on, this beautiful Thoroughbred mare named Georgia, tripped hard - thankfully she remained unhurt, but I fell over her front shoulder, landed on my neck, and still have no clue how my ankle was shattered as I blacked out for a second.
Month 1 of BKA. I had 6 years of crutches under my belt they told me I must use a walker, no exceptions. The therapist said amputees only get to use a walker during their first month because you'll fall. They wouldn't even let me try them out with a gait belt. I know that's a lie now. I want my crutches. Thanks for sharing.
Lol dancing. I would love to be able to use crutches I have wheelchairs and a Walker. It is crazy seeing your length is exactly the same as mine. Keep your spirits up and God bless
I hope you are able to my friend! Do crutches look like they could be on the horizon for you or do walkers and wheelchairs work best for you? And that's crazy that our amputations were the same lengths! Keep your spirits up too :-) I know it isn't easy every day, but we're doing it.
Has cabin fever set in yet? When I saw the pizza rolls I laughed and thought "healthy" lol. Then you said it. I had started a vlog about my PTSD but stopped cause mean comments got to me. Glad I haven't found any on your videos.
I had my foot cut off when i was 10 im 31 now after a while you hardly will notice alot of time people dont notice i have a Prosthetic on I still get Phantom pain occasionally keep ur head up also ur very beautiful
Luckily much like you, I too have practice for walking around with crutches. However, the reason I walk with crutches is due to my Cerebral Palsy and that my right Tibia is naturally rotated outwards throwing my balance off.
Catching up on one of Your old vid posts. ( I say the following. No pun intended) But seeing You hop around ect, looks like such a darn pain. Darn it, that looks like a lot of hard darn work...... ☮️⚛️🌏

I love how much your channel has grown, keep spreading the positivity! I'm still recovering from the leg surgery I has on 10.24.18. Mine is a slow recovery, too!
Thank you so much Abigail!! I so appreciate your support girl! All the best as you continue to recover from your surgery too!!
I’m so happy to see how happy you are and strong most people aren’t when they get a limb removed. I’m glad that your foot problems have came to an end❤️
Lmao okay the dancing bit killed me. To be honest, you dance better on one leg than I do on two 😔 (I’m really uncoordinated)
Hahaha I questioned putting it in the video like seven times then I was like "screw it, this is honestly how I danced BEFORE losing a leg too, so might as well embrace it!" I'm a klutz, uncoordinated, and I'm learning to embrace it. Glad you liked it lol!
You are my favorite channel and I really look forward to your videos. I have physical challenges and chronic pain and you really encourage me.

Thank you so much Ellie!! Your encouragement definitely helps ❤️
I'm glad you are happier since your last video. You are far more mobile than I could ever be and to say with so many stairs too!
I love the color of you’re kitchen!

This comment made me smile. :-) Thank you so, so much.
Your positivity is radiant
So nice to see you happy and energetic since the last video was about a bump in the road for you. Keep going! Keep persevering!
nicole carlini awww thank you so much! Your encouragement helps me to do just that 💜😊
What did you do for work before amputation and what are your plans for the future. You’re doing amazing and you should be very proud 💞
I run a real estate business! I'm hoping to get back to it within a few weeks or a month full time, but trying to really focus and take the time I need to fully recover. Thanks for your lovely comment!!
I love how you have such a good attitude about your situation!! ❤️❤️
You are thanking us? We need to thank you for your great outlook on life being an amputee. Keep up the great work you are doing.
I love your house! It’s amazing how well you get around with crutches! Very inspirational!
I was that way, didn't want to use a walker cause those are for old people. I did that quite a bit before I realized I could leave my leg straight. I never had a cast on mine after amputation, only ace bandages.
scaryplace I was totally the same way!! I was lifting my casted leg up even to keep my “foot” off the ground lol
Thanks for the video. I call my crutches stilts (like those kids use). I have forearm (or elbow) crutches, they have some advantages, since you may use the mobility of your elbow, to more easily and faster push up doors or kick stuff out of the way.
You are such an inspiration Jo! But I just wanted to say I love that blue top your wearing, is so cute and looks amazing on you X
Your kitchen is EVERYTHING
Haha oh my gosh THANK YOU! Its super colorful, maybe too much but I sure don't think so lol.
Not too much at all! Soooo jealous!

Also, I love your dress! It looks super comfy! 👌
I love your channel! Subscribed! 😊😁😀 (I just binged watched all your videos starting at the beginning, lol) 😁😀😃
You should look into an I Walk 2.0. it would be much easier to free up your hands to do more.
I should! That's the one thing I have not tried yet!
Have you guys thought about a single level home? Just seems like it would be safer without having stairs and all.
Riley i think she does not want to move and likes her home. i think she is adapting pretty well seeing that she doesn’t have a leg anymore.
You look like you're doing great!
Keep smiling!
😁
Love that smile. Keep it up.
You should do a viedo on how you get your self up from the floor if you fall or sit on the floor and show how to get up off tj floor
Where's that blue dress from?? I love it😍😍😍
Thank You..Too see and hear your story is Journey
Catching up on one of Your old vid posts. ( I say the following. No pun intended) But seeing You hop around ect, looks like such a darn pain. Darn it, that looks like a lot of hard darn work...... ☮️⚛️🌏
I just love you and your channel ❤️
The tipping over thing hasn't left me in 5 years post rbk
I am now going to look up to you forever you are soooo brave
Your house is really cute😊
Awh thank you so much, Emily! I really appreciate that!
Footless Jo no problem! I really enjoy watching you and your story. And I’m glad I found your channel💜
Thanks you for viedoing your journey
The dancing was too funny!
I hate when you finally get to sit down and you forget something.
Hi I love your channel, been watching this as I'm researching on amputee insider info. I have a question on crutches; Is it possible to get around with 1 clutch, or it's a must to have both clutches? If you have to carry a shopping bag, how do you do it while having your arms full with the clutches? Thanks ^_^
What is your favorite way to get around your home
Posiblemente este video sea el que mas me guste tuyo porque te veo bastante tiempo caminando con tus muletas.
You are great at hopping wow
What would say has been the hardest part to adjust to ?
Can you walk with just one crutch?
zsolt wohner technically yes but it’s bad for your whole body alignment because I’d be throwing all my weight against that one crutch as I hop. If that makes sense?
How's the pain? Does it hurt or throb when you jump around?
I don't know if you have them there but u should try the phikbury pizza bites
Is ur tri level house like a 2 story with a basement or actually 3 stories
I had a math teacher who lost her leg in a motorcycle accident when she was 16.
They’d given her a prosthetic leg, meaning she’s still able to walk around. Why didn’t you go for the same option, rather than hopping about, losing breath, etc?
Her amputation is brand new and she's still healing. She's in the process, you don't have to worry! 🙂
Will the residual leg always go strange colours when below heart level or will that subside in time seems it's only just been done?
hun hun that’s a great question! It won’t - it will adjust. It’s just a post-surgery circulation thing. It’s always happened for me after surgery. It gets better each day as I can keep it below heart level longer and longer!
Footless Jo Awesome.
I know from expiriens that it is hard jumping up and down stairs
Do you use compression on the stump to reduce swelling?
Lauren I do now! I had to keep all off it except gauze on the incision itself up until yesterday because of an infection and abscess that finally healed. Now it is liners and shrinker 24/7! 😊
This is probably really weird but I’m embarrassingly curious, do you now sew all of pants up to your residual limb? Why do amputees do this?
You move perfectly like nothing limits you.
Anyway, did you ever fall on the floor forgetting that you don't have a leg?
I love your dress were did u get it I love to ware leggings and midi dresses
have yo ever feel sown the stairs
I'd love to see your rats. They're the best pets. I'm on a break from them now but one day I'll have rats again!
You are the cutest oh my gosh 😂😁
YAY for dancing!! 👏
That intro was impressive, idk how you think your balance is terrible. For anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about, try pulling one leg to your butt and bend over your kitchen table. Super difficult
I can do the crutch Charleston
Eres muy bella. No hablo ingles pues soy español pero no he aprendido el ingles.Me gustan tus videos pero en muy pocos te veo de cuerpo entero caminando con tus muletas.
Idk how I found you but you are amazing and sooooooooooooooooooooo pretty I just wanted to let you know you're amazing
Once you get a prosthetic foot everything will be back to normal
Please take this as a joke.U will get ur exercise in lol.how are the crutches under ur arm.i had sprained my ankle back b.m.xing I found it so uncomfortable.i sucked up got through but to do what u do.Ur a total pro.Pizza rolls rule
Being im just missing foot im able to walk on the stump
Me gusta verte caminando con tus muletas.
ya'll need a pet rabbit, cuz clearly there's already one in the house that needs rabbit company
I tip over often too just because my chopped toes
How bout the prospect of being a mom? Its bold, but so are you. Or should I say brave?
I like you, subscribed. C:
