@@nickfanzo Thermonuclear MORONS! Ali's genius talent was beyond question by 1964. Sonny Liston was a terrifying destroyer, and Ali's fearlessness and movement in the ring made Liston look foolish. Good lord.
the dancing around is about Ali being hurt in the previous exchange. He looks in command but is avoiding contact... running away for extended periods. It is smart, but not a sign of winning in itself. He gets so much credit for "dancing",
Ali's best asset was his left jab..yes.. but his footwork was remarkable for a guy of his size .Agile and well coached in ring craft. He would assess his opponent's strategy and arsenal by moving to his left, always moving..and jabbing with his left to keep his opponent away and he quickly figured that his opponent only ducked one way and so chopped him repeatedly with a downward right
Let's also say, to my humble opinion, that this german guy wasn't an easy client for Alì.... he's fast and Alì's defense could have suffered this type of fighter... anyway, it's such a great pleasure to watch this fight...
Ali was lord of the rings. Kept using his left jab all night. Blocking blin attacks till blin got tired. The ali landed one right hand and that did it. RIP king of all kings.
Blin was fearless, but like a bull in a china closet. Sooner or later he was either gonna run into Ali's punch or knock himself out. Maybe he did both. Anyway, good fight by Blin, but also great patience by Ali. For him, this was just a journey fight on the long way back to reclaiming the title.
It was too physically taxing to box with Ali. He was bigger and had a longer reach than most of the heavyweights and his agility permitted him to throw the jab from every angle, which gave him a reach advantage even against men his size. And then he had the stamina. The big guys couldnt chase him around for long and the smaller guys, that could chase him, had to eat several jabs to the face to maybe land a single punch on him and be in a constant head movement motion that ate up precious energy. Meanwhile, he was just throwing the flicking jab moving backwards, winning rounds, conserving energy. If he saw his man in trouble he'd move in for the kill, if the man fought back, Ali would again move to safety zone. If someone caught him with a good punch, Ali would hug him and push him back. Other than Frazier, Marciano and very early Tyson I cant imagine of any other fighters in the history of heavyweight division that had the combination of characteristics to take Ali into deep and uncertain waters. You needed superhuman stamina, ability to take punishment, and very high workrate to alternate crippling his midsection with bombs in the head. Then of course you could have the odd ones like Norton, against whom I doubt Ali ever won a round convincingly. Norton had superb stamina, very long hands and developped a specific defense to mess up with Ali's jab, which in turn messed up his whole rythm.
Blin was very quick and aggressive, almost like a middleweight. But He had no way around Ali’s jab. Ali’s ring movement was exceptional and he was very patient and methodical the way he wore him down.
Blin has no stamina. His lung gave out on him. Muhammad Ali's conditioning is superb. Ali's secret is stamina and endurance and ring smarts. Ali has been in the boxing business since he was twelve years old.
All "outside" fighting boxers are head hunters. Especially big heavyweights fighting smaller guys. I dont remember Lewis or Klitchko ever going to the body either. Pop with the left jab, pop, pop and if there is an opening, big right to the head.
In his prime, and I'm talking up till he was banished from boxing for refusing to go into the military, there was none better. No heavyweight fighter of any era, including today, could not have beat him. The best fighter pound for pound I have ever seen was Sugar Ray Leonard. Talk about having some heart.
Its always a pleasure to watch an Ali fight, but just as pleasant is no commentary. Its bliss not having to listen to pundits constantly rabbit over the action and your get to hear the crowd instead
This one of Ali's best. Blin was no match for Ali's speed and his ability to duck opponents punches as he made Blin look silly. Blin swung at the air too many times to count. Blin was frustrated and angrily lunged at Ali several times off balance and into the ropes. When Blin swung wildly charging into Ali, he just covered up and those round house swings just landed on Ali's arms or Ali just danced away. Finally, Blin just walked into a right hand after taking a bloody beating from Ali's left the entire fight. You could see Blin had no defense, no answer and complete confusion as Ali hit him continuously with the left and ended it with the right to the jaw that spun Blin's head and knocked him out. Ali is still an inspiration to watch for all time!
Ali the GOAT. A real gentleman. He would have knocked Blin cold in the earlier rounds when Blin missed and got himself exposed. Ali did not use that opportunity. A real gentleman. RIP champ.

Man, this is what I call “Respect” 20:15 ...so many times Ali could have taken advantage of him when he swings wide & missed. Oh yeah...that Ref was pissing me off 🤷🏾♂️
I think Blin was doing very well. First round was Blin for sure. I think Ali knew he was getting behind in the second and lifted as best he could. 3rd, well ..... Blin got nailed! Ali went Supernova! 🇭🇲🤗
The issue fighters like Blin had was catching up with Ali and making punches stick. Blin does catch him a few times in the early rounds but most of his work is wasted energy, punching wildly and shoving Ali onto the ropes where he never minded being. By round 7 he looks knackered and desperate, then Ali picked him off.
Blin's style troubled Ali for 3 rounds. In the 4th he got on his toes and moved, making Blin look wild and clumsy. From then on it was a matter of time.
Kudos for trying. Also knows that with a height and reach disadvantage you have to get inside to have any effect or any chance. I'm amazed at how many shorter guys try to fight on the outside these days. Crazy.
This KO is a perfect example of what, IMO, was Ali's greatest asset: ACCURACY. I've never thought Ali was the hardest puncher, even of his own time. Off the top of my head I can't remember a single early-round KO in his career. His greatest gift was his accuracy of hitting his target nearly at will, and over the course of a 15-round fight it was next to impossible to beat him at his best. The accumulation of accurate punches, at the end of the day, gives you the result above: a drop to the canvas.
Nowadays the youngsters point out size and weight but Ali would still be a supreme boxer for the attributes you point out. He was not the best traditional heavy, Louis has that claim, but Ali is the best ever due to his uncanny physical attributes and his overall physical toughness.
That great humility of Ali when Blin was in trouble on the ropes, with his arms down and Ali pulled his punches when he had every right to batter Blin.
I've just watched that ending three times and byron elenica is right: Ali could have gone in to finish him off but he pulls his punches and then the ref steps in. Ali always treated his vanquished with respect. Just watch the end of his defeat of Zora Folley in '67, I think Ali's last fight before his imprisonment. Ali is the greatest of all time.
@David Mc Nice joke - Blin / Blind. I appreciate your feedback but - I don't know, I think it's debatable - I don't think that Ali was going in to "destroy" (your word) Blin. After the two jabs then the right that knocks Blin back on to the ropes, Ali hesitates slightly, he know's that Blin is finished. He respects a courageous opponent. Compare with the Ali v Brian London fight. Now that's going in to destroy an opponent!
How wonderful to watch a boxing match without the commentary. No distracting drivel and opinion. Just the fight. Commentary for radio. Silence for ‘TV’.

Only a few spotted his few weaknesses; Ali made sure to rematch his TOUGHEST opponents, and beat ALL of them in rematches. Want an education in Ali, and the intricacies of the sport? ali was a coward. avoided the draft that took my uncle and many others lives. maybe he could have won the war with his fists.
@@TRUMP_WAS_RIGHT_ABOUT_EVRYTHNG I honor your uncle.
As a doctor who worked on the trauma cases of more than 500 veterans, I can tell you that few agreed with the war even if they were proud of their own service... And it took a hell of a lot more guts for Ali to face everything he faced. He didn’t run, he didn’t leave the country, he faced public opinion, he faced the courts, he sacrificed his livelihood and the best years of his career… All to avoid A war few people on this planet still believe had anything going for it,
Ali remains the most recognizable and loved figure of modern times around the world. One who good thing for himself.
Remember your uncle with love. I don’t mistake marching off as a kid because your ordered to do so for courage. Courage is facing what’s in front of you, fully, whether it was a good idea or not. @@danielsapenpsychologistph.1142 thank you for your amazing service ! And great response. I understand he took a hit for his career but Elvis got drafted as did many other stars. I'm sure most got cushy roles as Ali probably would have. Side note. I've been a nurse for 15 years and my specialty is psych 👍👍 I enjoy my work with our veterans,I always treat them extra special. It's really sad how bad our younger vets from Afghanistan/iraq wars have been treated with their mental health. I've seen so many with drug addictions since being discharged from service. Here in mass they opened a substance abuse facility that focuses on former military and first responders. I can't think of the name but it was a great day when they opened recently.
Coward? l don't think so. It's the other way around. Ali fought face to face in a greater war than Vietnam🇻🇳, which was the US government n won. thank YOU for admitting the existence of "Close fights", that is almost heresy.
Not taking away anything Ali did before ‘67, but the 70s is where Ali’s heavyweight career starts with me. And where he became legendary.
De'Drick Williams we never got to see a prime Ali, but his genius developed in the 70s when his legs weren’t as good. True genius
To not understand Ali in the sixties is to totally fail to understand the entire meaning of his life.

Watching this fight made me realize how Ali masterly footwork and pugilist skills made this opponent look like a leopard sparring with a Bengal Tiger.
the dancing around is about Ali being hurt in the previous exchange. He looks in command but is avoiding contact... running away for extended periods. It is smart, but not a sign of winning in itself. He gets so much credit for "dancing",
All of Ali’s training of jogging and Rope work paid of in that he had great footwork and endurance to go 12 or 15 rounds and to keep moving.

M Ali Is The best for ever
Ali's best asset was his left jab..yes.. but his footwork was remarkable for a guy of his size .Agile and well coached in ring craft. He would assess his opponent's strategy and arsenal by moving to his left, always moving..and jabbing with his left to keep his opponent away and he quickly figured that his opponent only ducked one way and so chopped him repeatedly with a downward right

The elegance of a ballet dancer in thew body of an heavyweight fighter, this is how i think of him when i see his footwork
Let's also say, to my humble opinion, that this german guy wasn't an easy client for Alì.... he's fast and Alì's defense could have suffered this type of fighter... anyway, it's such a great pleasure to watch this fight...
Blin have Ali a lot of trouble, was very brave and did his best. He and his nation should be proud of his performance.
🤣🤣🤣🤣Stfu! He got beat up..proud of what??????🚮
@@user-theblackDrPhilHey he tried and gave his best 😅
Ali was lord of the rings. Kept using his left jab all night. Blocking blin attacks till blin got tired. The ali landed one right hand and that did it. RIP king of all kings.

Blin was fearless, but like a bull in a china closet. Sooner or later he was either gonna run into Ali's punch or knock himself out. Maybe he did both. Anyway, good fight by Blin, but also great patience by Ali. For him, this was just a journey fight on the long way back to reclaiming the title.

.

I've never seen Ali "fight" like this. This was different i have this dudes respect. It's hard to beat Ali he tried his damn best

The gloves were so much smaller there - that's so much better.
Blin was very quick and aggressive, almost like a middleweight. But He had no way around Ali’s jab. Ali’s ring movement was exceptional and he was very patient and methodical the way he wore him down.
givemetoast
Blin has no stamina. His lung gave out on him. Muhammad Ali's conditioning is superb. Ali's secret is stamina and endurance and ring smarts. Ali has been in the boxing business since he was twelve years old.
Dude doesn't even fight like a middleweight, he looks like a middleweight? How much did he weights??
That guy Blin threw a hell of a lot of punches...but not many connected.

Mohammed ali is the only boxer who boxes only on the faces. Never ever hits elsewhere.
True
All "outside" fighting boxers are head hunters. Especially big heavyweights fighting smaller guys. I dont remember Lewis or Klitchko ever going to the body either. Pop with the left jab, pop, pop and if there is an opening, big right to the head.
He is a swatting tiger clothed as a man
Blin has strength and skill. Bravo to Ali for out-classing him
In his prime, and I'm talking up till he was banished from boxing for refusing to go into the military, there was none better. No heavyweight fighter of any era, including today, could not have beat him. The best fighter pound for pound I have ever seen was Sugar Ray Leonard. Talk about having some heart.
Sorry bud but your double negative effectively means that any heavyweight from any era could beat him!! I've a feeling that is not what you intended!

Its always a pleasure to watch an Ali fight, but just as pleasant is no commentary. Its bliss not having to listen to pundits constantly rabbit over the action and your get to hear the crowd instead
I couldn't agree more. 100%.
RIP champ.
I dont think Ali took it easy on him. Ali was a patient fighter and always took his time. He was gathering data on this man in the early rounds.
@@GuyFromTheSouth True and I Imagine pro boxers also understand that it is i a lot of peoples' interests to have fights of several rounds.( which is a bit like saying he or both took it easy or paced themselves for a few rounds except there is nothing easy about earning a living this way)

Ali in his later career is more slow starter. First 4 round is usually just "warm up" for slow starter fighter, so, no big deal really
Not a terrible performance for someone that stiff, everyone looked stiff against Ali he was so fluid

Keep an eye on Blin trying really hard to catch Ali with elbows. Especially in the corners.

Kudos for trying. Also knows that with a height and reach disadvantage you have to get inside to have any effect or any chance. I'm amazed at how many shorter guys try to fight on the outside these days. Crazy.
Ali was an artist in the ring fast as lightning my favorite athlete

That great humility of Ali when Blin was in trouble on the ropes, with his arms down and Ali pulled his punches when he had every right to batter Blin.
byron elenica kp

@David Mc blah blah blah....stfu....everyone knows Ali backed off to not hurt him more than he already was hurt....
He started to move in and saw the guy was really hurt and backed of..thats one thing I respected about Ali.He would never beat a man when he was down.
