this card is actually better than the 4070ti despite redditors say it's slightly behind the 4070 vanilla; not only is better because it has more memory, but also has more bandwidth and the pcb's are tougher. It's sad that software from Autodesk and even Blender are kicking AMD Radeon's rears because the cards are really nice. And as redditors love to blame crypto miners on why nvidia cards are so expensive despiet AMD was the main target.... it's not Nvidia's fault. it's the gamers'.
edit: Was considering a Radeon Sapphire Pure 7800XT because it's my absolute favorite looking card but had to stick to the lame 4060ti 16gb because 3d industry hates openCL lol.

This is the most underrated channel I have ever seen, the quality is just amazing. Surprised this channel only has 6K subs, get this channel to 100k.

Very accurate and informative video. This GPU at MSRP is a pretty good deal considering the state of the GPU market right now. Drifting toward $550 or higher, which I imagine the ASUS model does, kinda destroys most of the benefits over the RTX 4070.
One last thing to consider, the best option for the RX6000/RX7000 series is to undervolt while keeping stock clocks. If you are lucky, the reduced temperatures from the undervolt can let the GPU clocks boost a bit higher netting a 2%-5% performance gain at lower than stock watts.
Looking forward to your thoughts and videos about the RTX 4000 Super series!

Ended up getting a Open Box Asus 6900XT TUF for $483 total back in March 2023. It's been hanging in there and to my surprise 5800X & 5900X bottleneck it at almost 4k resolution. I just had a 5800X3D install for about a month and decided to sell off it and a board for $380 and just temporarily use some hardware from a lightly used Media PC. The 5800X was noticeably slower when I went back to it, I really figured the 5800X3D didn't provide that much. I was planning on buying entry level Ryzen 5 7600 but decided to send it back and wait for Zen5 later this year. I will run this 5800X until then. Look forward to a potent CPU.

The 4070 in the US is about $35 more expensive than the 7800 XT at the moment, making the 7800 XT an even better deal. You can undervolt both cards of course, which can lead to better performance for less electricity usage and less heat. The price of the 7800 XT may come down, when the 4070 drops in price, which would really seal the deal if it can go to around $450.

The 7800xt I got was able to net 8-10% perf with the memory and core oc'd to 21.1gbps so the gddr6 they're using on alot of board models can match the speed of the stock gddr6x, the core was able to reach 2880 stable but used about 330w which is the same as aib 6800xt's

I'm actually considering the 6800 as opposed to the 7800 XT and thats only because its cheaper snd the 7800 XT is only a bit more capable. That said if i could get a 7800 XT, then i would.

If you think about drivers and Long-term support for Windows 12-14. RX 7000 is better choice.

I had both and 7800xt is not just a bit faster, it quite a lot faster. Rx6800 is great but 7800xt is class above..
In many games at 1440p it will be over 60fps while rx 6800 under 50. Esc in new demanding games on UE5.

    I have a i79700 (9thgen) 7800xt nitro + Desktop and a i913900h 4070 140w Laptop. Both great but 7800xt nitro deff takes the cake. in Most games.
    i7 9700 is gnne be swapped with a i5 12400 soon.

Asus tuf-rx7800xt-o16g-og-gaming (2.9 slot design, 1.2cm less width, middle fan 13 blades, 4 SMD can capacitors on ALL PCB, smaller vent hole, radiator with more heat pipes) VS
Asus tuf-rx7800xt-o16g-gaming (2.96 slot, middle fan 11 blades, 25 SMD can capacitors total)?
In a no overclock and undervolt at 1440p 120fps cap in everything most likely forever scenario., which one is better and why...and more importantly, which seems less likely to have coil whine (and less noise in general)? Do the black rectangle capacitors have more chance to cause coil whine (even if they are better)?

  • @roki977

you cant oc 7800xt in afterburner, only in adrenalin and it overclocks great.. other than that, good job..
In short, raise power limit and max clock. Then start droping voltage, more it drops higher it boosts. I play The Finals on 7800xt/5800x3d and have custom settings with fsr q with well over 200fps. No FG needed like in many other shooters if you own good cpu..

TechArc : RTX 4070 has 2944 CUDA cores. In the RTX 3000 and RTX 4000 lineup one must always divide the stated quazi CUDA core number by 2 to get the real CUDA core number. Nvidias interpretation for CUDA core numbering due to RTX 3000/4000 series having a quazi 2 x FP32 throughput (AKA floating point) calculation performance and if they don't say that in their marketing campaign, then Nvidia must claim that RTX 3000/4000 has 100% increase in the number of CUDA cores compared to RTX 2000 series. Number of CUDA cores sells product, FP32 throughput doesn't :). Relative to the 2000 because of FP32 throughput being quazi 2x as fast, Nvidia claims that the 3000/4000 has TWICE the CUDA core numbers.

250-280 Watt. But you can make 200 Watts by undervolting and win from 1% to 5% in performance. It can let the GPU clocks boost a bit higher.

Not true i have a 7800xt nitro + desktop and a 4070 Laptop i have no issues that are not solvable on both. Just gotte understand your systems. Not saying there are never bugs but its not that bad you can always reroll and or do a clean install.
