I made them. Followed your directions to the letter. Kneading the dough and making the filling took me all afternoon. This was not an easy dish. This was a huge amount of work. They came out so good. I made a dipping sauce with aged soyu, aged black vinegar, and sriracha. Happy to have the extra ones in the freezer. They will be a great snack or lunch. For those of you thinking of doing this, spend your time with the dough exactly as she says. The texture is phenomenal.

I made these today and you're right. At first I thought I was doing something wrong because the dough didn't look right. Have faith in the process it works, The dumplings turned out great, They took all day to make but my family made them vanish in minutes. Great recipe.. I'm making many more.

Dear Mandy, thank you for the dumpling videos! We celebrated our 2023 year's 1st day with pork and cabbage filled dumplings, thanks to you! I got the recipe for the filling, wrapper and dipping sauce from 3 different videos of yours. Last year we tried steamed dumplings with premade gyoza wrappers, but we found it not so good, so this year we gave another chance to our dumpling frenzy, only I searched for trustworthy recipe for filling, wrapper and dipping sauce to make. And it meant so much difference to make it at home by hand! We choose the panfried and steamed version as you showed in this video, used bread flour for the wrapper, it was a dream to have so crusty and moist dumplings! We have another batch at the freezer. So we will have another chance to eat it soon! Thank you for your informative, helpful and super friendly recipe videos, it is a pleasure to watch any of it because of your kind and caring personality! ❤️😘

I was absolutely blown away by the 24 dumpling wrappers video. She makes everything look so simple yet elegant. Of course, having tried a few variations of wrapping, I know wrapping dumplings is anything but simple. I'm completely convinced that I must now dedicate an entire weekend to attempting the homemade wrappers and forget store bought. What a wonderful winter weekend enterprise this endeavor will be!

Made 100 on Friday and Saturday. So delicious!!! Managed to freeze some. My wife is crazy for these dumplings. We worked hard but it was so worth the effort. We’ll do it again very soon!!! This weekend we’re gonana tackle the wonton soup, fried wontons and egg rolls. May as well do both while the oil is hot! 😋
Thank you, thank you for your delicious recipes and all the hard work you put into producing these shows!!!

Thank you for such a great recipe, I can't wait to feed my family this. I appreciate you sharing your recipes with us
We Americans are very happy to help, so just ask the butcher for "a very coarse grind", in order to get a nice, chunky grind. Also, your English is beautiful. Thank you for sharing your love of cooking with us.

I make Jiaozi from scratch. It's great that you mention the trick in adding eggs. When in a pinch, I've used that method... who says they can't learn chemistry. You won me over on options. Oh! The ground pork is another good tip.... In thirty years, I've learned a lot from my mother-in-law. I would recommend the viewers to buy a 1" dowel at Lowes or Home Depot... had mine for years, and it will cost you about $2.00 for a couple of feet.... just cut them to size.
The flour is about 127g per 8oz cup.... the water is 225g per 8oz cup... salt is about 17g per tablespoon.

For those who can't do a lot of kneading by hand, I use my Kitchenaid stand mixer with the dough hook to make the wrappers and it works great! The machine is much more efficient than hand kneading though, so I suggest cutting the kneading time in half so you don't end up with a tough dough.
This is my go to recipe for dumplings. I switch between this and the pork and cabbage recipe in the other video for fillings. But I always use the recipe for the wrappers, the texture is so good and I always make at least a double batch!

I haaaaate baking (basically anything where delicate measurements and flour is involved), but you sold me on the homemade dumpling dough. Darn! Guess I'm gonna have to suffer a little, but it looks like it's gonna be so worth it. Thank you for sharing!

Traveling paid off for cooking tips. The Asian and Indonesian countries were, time after time, my favorites. Shopping and dining. So darn good. Period. Cheers.

Hi ,you are definitely my Chinese cooking teacher, your west african student is drewling and wants to enter the screen to eat with you. I KNOW HOW TO MAKE FISH POCKETS FROM SCRATCH ,WE GREW UP MAKING THEM ,and there is no difference making the dough ,but just need it to watch your video .the only difference is the thickness or thinness of the wrap compare to the fish pockets ,we call them pastel in french ,well Spanish call them empaña.but the difference is the cooking ,dumplings you dip in sauce or soup ,or steam or steam/ fry while the others you deep fry or bake ,the filling and types of wrap can be different ,but the dough is very similar .Thank you always ,now I must make my chili oil , chinese hop Pepper sauce, before making any dumplings or pastel.
