You should always torque suspension parts at curb height. You can use a pole jack so lift the control arm up it doesn’t necessarily have to be sitting on wheel but the suspension should not be hanging. It will mess of the ball joint prematurely. Great video

Good work but you really need to pack the bearing properly. You can’t roll it in grease you have to force it in through the bottom until it squeezes out the top

Really good video and editing. Forgot one part though, the turn radius will be reduced without this step.
Using a die grinder with a
cutoff wheel, remove approximately ¼” from the front lip of the lower control arm from the previous marked spot around the front radius of the lower control arm in front of
the ball joint. This will allow clearance for installation of
the new lift spindle. Increased turn radius for large tires.
Hopefully you see this. But I recently tried to do a spindle lift on my 05 ranger edge and the turning radius is still like a bus even when we trimmed it. Hopefully you have some tips or know what we did wrong.
Also after trimming the lower we had to jack it up to line the upper ball joint and when we lowered it it all relied on the upper ball joint idk how I felt about that
@@cameronadams1952 I ended up removing the entire flat lip part around the ball joint on the LCA everywhere the spindle rubbed. My ranger doesn't turn terribly but it did get a slightly reduced turn radius. I have a spindle and spring lift, with extended upper control arms and upgraded camber bolts. The extended UCA helped with alignment/steering issues but it smacks the frame. The best advice I could give is just make sure the spindle does not rub the flat part of the lower control arm.

UPDATE my 98 ranger 2 inch coil spacer an 4 inch spindle lift with 3 inch blocks an 2 inch lift shackles stupid lifted needs bigger tires than 31s now for sure

Question the upper ball joint the hole is to small for the ball joint to fit how can you fix it?
Don't you need longer shocks and springs in the front? I have a 98 Ford ranger myself so I was excited when I saw this video but my dad told me I would need longer shocks or I'll be stressing out my truck. And I know I can lift up the back pretty easily with just blocks and u-bolts.
no, you will not need longer shocks. The only thing that Lift spindles do is changing the center of the where the tires are. you can use same shocks and springs.
If anything you would need longer shocks in the rear. But it’s not necessary. I would recommend changing the shocks anyways however cause those ranger do get a lot of mile.
Is a spindle lift only for a 2WD car? I have a 2011 ranger 4WD, is cranking the torsion bars the easiest way to lift the front end?
easiest way to get 2 inches higher. get new keys and rent a tool from auto zone. 4wd spindle lift is not possible.
Do I need to replace anything else ? Longer brake lines ? This will work for a 2wd ?
It works on any model I got a 4 inch spindle lift, I have a 3.0 v6 2wd and it's amazing, the total lift was about 4.5 inches actually

@@totallypitted3447 just a little on the drop arms and I had to remove my mudflaps because I have 33 12.50s and I use 2 inch spacers so I don't rub anywhere
@@aquaticamc6818 Rad! Thx for the quick response! Too Cool! Bout to update my 05 and I wanna get it right. Did you feel a power drop with 33's? Thinkin imma top out at 31's to keep it somewhat of a daily driver. Almost 180k on the motor, tryin to keep some of the load down.

We replaced the spindles on my 05 ranger edge but my AA arm seems to not be matching up? Is there a trick or do we need to replace the A arm?

*GET CAMBER BOLTS!* or you will have some silly camber.
Just install this lift over the weekend. Seriously get them and install them during the process not after its all done. Don't make my mistake.

Can this on my 87 ford ranger 2.0l
Did these make your turn radius shorter , I just install one side on mine and the hit the sides of the lower control arm and while it's up off the ground with no weight on it the back side of the spindle is right up against the frame and you cant turn it at all , I replaced everything brand new. I got these off ebay and they look just like yours with the f150 spindles and outer bearing, I put a jack under it and it moved away from the frame but it still hits on the lower lip on the side of the control arm, Did you have any problems with yours and did you have to grind some of that lip away ?
tried this but the new spindle rubs way too much i won’t be able to turn idk why it doesn’t fit
