Shout out to this guy! I have the exact same truck and doing the exact same thing to it. Thanks for taking the time to make this video my man. I'll subscribe forsure.
I did a part 2 of this video because i seated one of the springs incorrectly. I used a socket and extensions from the top. Way easier. I also just swapped out my radius arm bushings the other day and used the socket again to remove and reinstall the springs. Definitely the better way to do it.
Hello Ray...thanks so much. Great video! I just did the coil add (I used Skyjacker springs) and -- you were right -- the nuts are a pain. I have a 1997 STX and I leveled it this morning. Planning to add 33" tires (as you did) to replace the 31" tires I have now. Question: did the camber/castor work itself out before you got it fully aligned? Just want to know how long it took to see the toe-in get back to normal. You're the best...keep it up!
Ha. I never got it aligned! I played around with the toe a little bit (I did another video on that) but it didn't solve my alignment issues. I swapped out the radius arm bushings last month and it drives MUCH better now.
Thanks! And awesome. It's pretty much the same process. I think on the 2wd, the lower coil retainer uses a nut and bolt. The 4wd has a stud. Apart from that, I think it's the same process
The gen 3 Ranger is a fair bit easier and cheaper to lift . All you need is a new torsion key , or if you're really cheap just crank up the original key . Mine is a 2 wheel drive but it has the 4 wheel drive suspension , I'm not sure but I think only the Edge model Ranger is like that . Mine is the 4 liter V6 and it's fast enough that I can't imagine V8 swapping , that would be overkill for a 3000 pound truck .
The Edge was offered from 2001-2005. 2006 to 2011 it was known as the Sport. I owned a 2007. Yes, you can lift it by cranking the torsion bar. You don't need to buy a key, a standard socket will do it. I did it to mine. The problem with a t-bar crank is that you lose downtravel as a result of preloading the suspension. Fine if you want a lift for aesthetics but not a good solution if you actually want to off road it. I cranked mine tall enough to fit a 32" tire without needing fenders or trimming. I would not recommend cranking any higher than that. It will ride like garbage and puts more wear on the ball joints.
Fantastic. Have a '93 but just like yours with 52K. Getting ideas now. What kind of shocks would you install to go with the Rough Country springs ? More videos !!
Hey brother. I am so thankful your channel is around. Is there a way I could hit you up? I have a question on the front suspension. I trust your expertise.
Hi Ray, Greg writing back. My project truck (1997 STX) continues to improve. I bought some Aries 3" round side bar (running boards) and I couldn't get them to work. Have you considered adding some to your truck?
So with the adjustable bushing and alignment you were able to get it not looking so ridiculous? With the camber? I’m about to install this soon and need to know
This is a great video. I swear it couldn’t have taken you more than an hour. Looks like you got a lot more lift than I did out of mine though, I used Skyjacker coils. Didn’t know about that rubber gasket thing either. Sounds like it should help with some squeaking. Think I have to take mine apart and move some things around cuz mine still looks like the before shot
I definitely took my time the first time. lol. I took apart the passenger side the other day to reseat the coil and it went by a lot faster. Also much easier if you use a socket and wobble extensions. I’ll be posting an update video of that soon.
It looks like you didn't get the coil seated properly in the upper part of the coil tower. The end of the coil spring fits in a groove so it doesn't spin.
What do you see that I missed? I spun the spring in the upper part of the coil bucket to find the right spot. On my truck, there was a little tab thing that hung down from the top of the bucket that I assumed was where the end of the coil should sit so it wouldn’t spin. If it is seated incorrectly, what symptoms would come up while driving to tell you it’s not in properly?
Update: I took the passenger side apart and fiddled with the spring. Got it to match the passenger side. Will post an update video of the process, soon. Also found it way easier to loosen and tighten the bolt with a socket and a couple wobble extensions! Thanks for the comment!
@@ethanfergus3672 Not yet. Haha. The alignment wasn't affected very much by the leveling coils, so I haven't gotten around to it yet. I've found other videos on UA-cam on how to do it, but they're not as detailed as I'd like. So I do want to produce a video to help others who want to do the upgrade. Right now, I'm also shopping for ball joints and considering doing those at the same time since I'll already have it apart.
@@ethanfergus3672 Did you mean coils? Ya. For me there wasn't a huge difference, but every truck is slightly different. So just keep an eye on it. Did you see my part two of this video? I put the passenger coil in wrong in the first video... and in Part 2 I show an easier way to undo the bottom retainer nut. Watch Part 2: ua-cam.com/video/cXbDGnLs8SI/v-deo.html
Great video, but was wondering... I know you mentioned in the video that there shouldn't be much of a difference between the 4x4 & 2x4 Other than the bolt on the axle... But is there a difference in the springs themselves? or are the springs identical between the 2x4 and 4x4? Online it says they are different but it sounds like BS to me and they look exactly the same
Where did you get your wheels and tires? just got a 97 model and about to put these same springs on the truck. Nice vid will def be using it through this process!
Thanks! Make sure to watch the part 2 video also. I messed up the install on one side and also discovered the joy of using a ratchet instead of a box wrench. I got the wheels and tires at Discount Tire.
@@rayregnogaragein the before picture did you have a lift? I have a 97 stock maybe even lower than stock and I want to level it, lift it the tiniest bit possible just to fit 31s! Any suggestions?
@@joramcm2293 I can't be sure. I bought the truck from an impound lot and know nothing about the history of it. A leveling coil might get you there. If not, just trim the fenders like I did and you'll fit 33s. haha
hey! I have a 93 ranger 4x4, I was wondering if you could make a video on how to replace my valve cover, I’m 17, no father figure so UA-cam is my best friend lol and you’re pretty good at the explaining everything.
The TTB is, by nature, an independent front suspension. But the sway bar delete allows the two sides to move even MORE independently. It's one of the first things I delete on an offroad truck. Basically, the sway bar limits some of the suspension travel to keep the truck level. By removing it, it allows the suspension to articulate more freely.
In this video those are just the factory wheels on 32s with a spacer. i took all that off and have 33x12.5 on 15x8. Need to trim the fenders to fit them. have another video for that
@@rayregnogarage thanks for the reply sir and yes i saw that video. i just got a 96 ranger and its has 14” stock wheels i want to keep the wheels i just go bigger tires i want this build as cheap as i can 😁
Those were 32 x 11.5 on the factory wheel. That's pushing it. The previous owner ran a wheel spacer to make it work and it still rubbed a little with no lift.
Don't know what spacers they were. I took them off and sold them when I got my American Racing Outlaw II wheels. I run spidertrax spacers on my Xterra. Not really a fan of them, but the X still has factory wheels and it rubs without them. I'll ditch them when I get new wheels on that truck.
Hey i have a 94 ranger and i was just wondering what the purpose was of deleting the sway bar, i have little knowledge about it and was wondering the pros and cons
Cons: More body roll on the street; need to be careful on sharp turns to avoid rolling it. Possibly more uneven tire wear. Pros: Allows the suspension to cycle more independently meaning your tires stay on the dirt when going over uneven surfaces. Removing the sway bar provides better offroad performance. You can get quick disconnects if you want to keep the sway bar for the street, but I I don't really care to deal with that. lol
@@rayregnogarage any ideas where to get the quick disconnects? Or even some longer end links? Mine don’t reach after the leveling kit anymore and I wouldn’t mind if I didn’t mostly drive it on road.
Hey boss how it going hey I did my 1993 Ford ranger but I went with a 2 inch spring spacer and minted everything as you did but for some reason now the shop I went to get it align say it need something els cus they can’t Aline it and idea on what I mite be doing wrong or if I take my sway bar away will it help
Do you have aftermarket alignment camber bushings? www.oreillyauto.com/detail/c/moog/suspension---steering/alignment-components/camber-caster-alignment-bushings/6c6a7b078bf5/moog-caster-camber-adjusting-bushing/moo0/k80109/v/a/5526/automotive-truck-1995-ford-ranger?pos=30
The shocks are too short for sure. When you droop out the front suspension, the beams are limited by the shock running out of length, but it's not really that bad. One of these days I'm gonna jack up the truck and measure how much down travel the beams have without the shocks installed and get a longer shock based on that measurement. It's just not super high priority at the moment. Lol. I'll make a video of it for sure.
I replaced front coils with 2 inches longer ones to level out front end. How much longer of a shock do i need? I put on 1 1/2 inch longer and springs seen to be to short. Thanks
To run 31s, no. The 31s were fine with no lift. It had a wheel spacer though. If you want to run 33s, then yes, you have to trim the fenders. Fast forward to 2:00 in on this video: ua-cam.com/video/1yiG_f9k9m4/v-deo.html
I just bought a 93 4x4 ranger that came with these but havent been put on. It needs shocks and I'm not sure if I just go with regular shock it calls for stock or if I need to get a shock for the high Ryder set up?
I have been using the factory length shock with no problems. But I did notice that I max out the downtravel of the shock. Someone in the comments mentioned that they had the leveling coil and was told a longer shock wouldn't work, but I haven't done the research yet.
They were 31x10.5 on 15" rim. I don't remember what they were. They were a cheap, crappy tire that I'd never heard of before. I put BF Goodrich AT KOs on all my trucks. They are some of the best on the market.
Great video, thanks. I have the exact same truck and will be doing the same job. I purchased a 1 and 1 eighth wratcheting wrench which will speed up the process of removing the lower bolt inside the spring. How many miles you got on your ranger? Im on 260k....2.3 Litre
over 200ish…. not positive. i’m out of state at the moment so i can’t check. haha. . If you watch my part 2 of this video, i used a socket. way better.
I just put bigger tires on my '97 Ranger and am looking to level it out like you did. The rear measures 34" high off the ground and the front is 31.5", meaning the back end is 2.5" higher than the front. Would the same 1.5" coil work for my case? Thank you!
Those were 31s with a wheel spacer on them. Don't know the brand the tires were but they were junk. I put 33x12.5" BFG ATs on it but needed to trim the fender. I did another video on how to do that. EDIT after reading your other comment. 30 is probably the best you'll get on a 2wd with a leveling coil. MIGHT be able to do a 31 if you trim the fenders, but I don't have a lot of experience with 93-97 2wds. I had a 99 and those had bigger wheel wells.
Hey, what do you recommend for my ranger. I am wanting to level my front end up because it has a lot of rake. I have an 08 2wd single cab. Keys, new springs, or spring spacers?
look under the front of your truck. does it have coil springs? If yes, then the keys are not an option for you. That's only for the Rangers with torsion bar front suspension. If you have coils, I would not recommend a spacer lift. I'm not even sure those will work on those trucks anyway, You'd probably need to change the upper arms if you did that. But either way, I don't recommend coil spacers ever. Fabtech used to offer a 3" lift spindle and that's what I had on my 99 ranger for a little while. But I can't find them offered online anymore. Not even on the Fabtech website anymore. Fabtech is the cheapest lift kit I would recommend if you have coil springs. I offroaded these pretty hard and the only problem I had was the upper a-arm mount starting to tear. that's the weakpoint fabtechmotorsports.com/product/2-5-performance-system-w-performance-shocks-k2109/ If you don't have coil springs, then you can just turn the torsion bar with a wrench for free. but it will ride like crap if you crank it too high. I turned my torsion bars on my 2008 2wd enough to fit 32s and it was fine. didn't go too crazy with it. didn't need keys
@@rayregnogarage ay thanks for the fast reply! Yes my truck does have springs. I’m coming from driving a Jeep so I’m new to keys and spacers, so I appreciate the information on whether or not my truck has them. I really need to level my front end since it has a lot of rake. Since you said you don’t recommend the spacer as a leveling kit, what would you recommend? Thanks
I put a link to the Fabtech 2.5 lift in the previous comment. You can also call them and see if they still offer the 3” lift spindle. That would be a cheaper and easier route
If your 2wd indeed has springs, it should be the same. but some 2wds of that year were torsion bar. Also, if you change the springs you’ll need new upper arms, too. I’ve never seen it done without arms and i’ve also never seen 2” coils. Back in the early 2000s we all used 2.5” with aftermarket upper.
Ha. It’s rusty TO ME. I lived in San Diego CA for the first 39 years of my life and NONE of my cars ever looked like this. The powdercoat is coming off of the beams and shackle hangers. I have the parts already on hand ready to replace. I’m just curious to see how long they last. lol
Question! I have a 97 2.3 5 speed 2wd. I’m wanting to level the front. I’m finding kits for 80-96. Do you know if 97 is any different? I’m gonna be running 15x12’s.
Where are you finding these kits? The Ranger came out in 1983 and stayed the same til 97. Whatever brand you’re looking it is probably not a good brand. Also, why do you want to run 15x12?
I ran the old factory shocks for a long time. I have Bilsteins now. I made a video... just haven't finished editing it yet though. haha. These are the ones I have.. .make sure to order two. I brainfarted and only ordered one the first time. amzn.to/3HjShaq
hey brother im new to all of this i just got a used ford ranger 1999 2 door xlt can i use this ? everthing on my truck right now is stock and there is no torsion bar just spring only
Yo. Sorry, but no, this won't work on your truck. Sounds like you have a 2wd with the coil bucket. It's a completely different front suspension. You can look into the Fabtech spindle lift and/or the Fabtech 2.5 coil + upper arm kit. I had that on my blue truck in this video: ua-cam.com/video/pvZ-igSj0wY/v-deo.html
so after you did this did you still have a problem with the camber? i saw on eBay you can get a set of drop brackets like for a Toyota or chevy and that fixes the camber?
It's not that bad actually. The leveling coils only lifted it 1.5" or so. I feel like my camber was more negative before I lifted it.The previous owner didn't really take care of the suspension on this thing. The axle locknuts were barely finger tight so the bearings were crazy loose. (Did you see this video? ua-cam.com/video/5qzS4W9SCUU/v-deo.html). The tires on it when I bought it were crazy worn out in weird angles. Right now the thing I'm dealing with is some weird toe out just on the passenger side. I think it's why the truck pulls hard to the right even with the new tires and brakes. I got the tie rod adjuster tool to fiddle with it, but haven't gotten a chance to yet. Will post a video when I do that. Honestly, I'm not TOO concerned with the camber. I've had two a-arm rangers before and I used to trash talk my i-beam friends about how terrible their bump steer and camber was. Weird camber on a beamed truck is just a thing to expect.
@@rayregnogarage yeah idk what happened to mine but the thing has positive camber yet the front springs are really tired giving it a awkward stance🤔 yet it seems to drive fine on trails and on back roads. I've experienced worse trucks before but I'm really not a fan of the tbt I beams
Sorry. Forgot to answer your other question about the drop brackets. The Toyotas and Chevy's use a a-arm setup like the 98+ rangers. I've seen the drop bracket lifts on the Toyotas, Chevys but I'm not a fan. I've had friends with drop brackets on their beam trucks and they weren't very good either. Best way to lift a beam truck is with longer springs, extended radius arms and extended beams. They help keep the camber more consistent as the wheels travel up and down. That's odd to have so much positive camber with sagged out springs. Were they always like that?
I’m curious on that myself because my lift isn’t as tall as I’d like and I’m wondering if the sway bar is holding the beams a little higher than they should, because there’s no drop link with a leveling kit. So the beams have to be slightly compressed to be able to get the swag bar to line up. In theory.. I’ll be taking mine off to see probably next weekend.
@@chrissagredo7129 The sway bar isn't affecting the ride height or amount of lift you're getting from the spring. All the sway bar is limiting is the downtravel of the beam when the suspension cycles. When you jack the truck up without the sway bar and unload the suspension, you'll notice the tires will droop lower because it's not limited by the sway bar. You'll also notice it on uneven terrain or while driving over a hole. The tire will stay in contact with the ground rather than immediately be hanging in midair.
@@joshuawilson9228 Check out the description on the video.I put links to the special sockets and wrenches you'll need. Also watch the part 2 of the video for important updates to this video. link to that video is also in the description of the video.. easier to see if you look at it from a computer.
I put a 2.5 inch coil spring fab tech lift on my ranger. I got 285’s on it. I put pro comp front shocks. The ride is pretty stiff and it’s bouncy. What do you recommend I do for the control arms? I am looking for the least expensive route. I see fab tech makes some extended control arms that’ll make the ride more comfortable but those are running for 700
What year is the truck? if it's a 98 or newer, you're supposed to install the extended arms with the longer coils. Also, we used to call ProComp, ProCrap. My 99 had the Fabtech kit with Bilstein 5100s and it rode pretty good.
Who makes a 4” spindle? Never heard of that I don’t think it would help. All the spindle does is relocate where the hub sits relative from the frame. It doesn’t affect the geometry of the arms.
I have 2” leveling kit blocks that sit under the springs that I haven’t installed, but I’m also looking at the rough country spring you installed in your truck, what do you recommend? Also when I do add the leveling kit will Monroe shocks slide in there just fine or do I need to find a specific set of shocks ?
If they are the same springs the truck came with from the factory, they're probably old and tired and possibly sagging to the point that the truck is lower than it was new. Spacers will only lift from the current height. New springs are NEW and will be an upgrade from the factory spring in my opinion. I'm not a fan of spacer lifts. I think that Rough Country sells a shock specifically for 1-2" of lift. I'm still running the 26 year old factory shock with the lift and it has been fine. haha. I keep meaning to pull the shocks off and cycle the suspension to see what length shock to get. I'd rather get a Bilstein. Right now, the drop of the truck is definitely limited by the shorter shock. The suspension will cycle more in the down travel direction when the shock is off.
@@rayregnogarage okay I’ll go ahead and order the 2” rough country springs, I looked for them under 1995 Ford ranger but I found them under year 97 and on but does that matter ?
I still haven't changed my shocks or installed the camber adjusting nut. Haha. It's been over a year and it's fine. It's a beam truck... I'm not gonna expect the wear pattern to be as nice as an a-arm truck.. It seems the height difference is negligible.. The next size up for shocks is for trucks with 4" of lift or more. I'm planning on doing some factory length Bilsteins on this truck soon. So keep an eye out for that video.
Ya the springs settled. You can look at my instagram @strongholdgarage to see how it sits now. I have a little toe out on the passenger side that I need to address. Might need new tie rod ends.. but it's been liveable. haha.
Ha. I didn't get mine aligned yet. It pulled to the right before I lifted it.. and still pulls to the right. Its not terrible. But I need to swap out the ball joints and possibly the tie rods so I'll wait til after. Needless to say.. I've been driving it since March as it is.
Don't do the cheap lifts on the dual i-beam suspension, you need to drop the pivot points for the i-beams and radius bars or else you get that dirty hooker camber. I think RC makes that kit as well
Apart from the leveling coil, Rough Country is trash. Go with AutoFab or James Duff. The leveling coil doesn’t affect the camber much if at all. I never even needed to align mine. This truck is off-roaded regularly and does great for what it is.
I just bought these spring for my 1992 2wd. And there the exact same length as my stock ones. I'm debating weather or not to install them. Rough Country (9264-4) they are 14 inches long extended. Can anyone help verify if I have the wrong part.
@Stronghold Garage so I called rough country and they said the spring should be the exact same height as original. It just doesn't compress as easy preventing sag but I installed with new pivot bushings and new radius arm bushing and got about 1/4" lift.
@@juanmayorga650 I wonder if you already had a leveling coil that just got old and worn out. If you're not the original owner of the truck that is a possibility. I keep finding all kinds of random things that the previous owner did to mine.
Just ordered the same kit on rough country.com and got sold the wrong kit the springs came the exact same size, I installed one since I already had the entire process done but wheel on it measured the same height from ground to fender. Pissed right now lmao I sent angry email to rough country.
That’s too bad. Did you get the springs for another truck? Rough Country doesn’t offer factory ride height option for the springs. It’s either the leveling coil or a 4 inch lift spring.
Stronghold Garage Idk man I bought 1.5in leveling coils and they are the exact same lol the springs r thicker and there’s more of them but all together it’s the same height, I was thinking maybe it was already leveled but I don’t think so

I need to ask you this i bought recently the skyjacker 134 coil springs(4in coils springs) do you think you think they will fit with any problem on a 95 ford ranger is a 2wd with a stock lift, hope you can help me out brotha thanks!
You'll need drop brackets or bent beams and radius arms. Just putting a 4” coil in there you will not have enough adjustment in your camber adjuster to fix the camber

Thank you. God bless!!

Hi Ray, Greg writing back. My project truck (1997 STX) continues to improve. I bought some Aries 3" round side bar (running boards) and I couldn't get them to work. Have you considered adding some to your truck?
No I dont like running boards.
I have rock sliders on my xterra, but that’s very different
So with the adjustable bushing and alignment you were able to get it not looking so ridiculous? With the camber? I’m about to install this soon and need to know
I never got my truck aligned. it may have already had a slightly taller spring but I don’t know.
Stronghold Garage I’m actually gonna try an impact with an extension if I can fit it. If not then yeah a ratchet is the way to go.
Thanks for the feedback! Took the passenger side apart and got the spring seated properly: ua-cam.com/video/cXbDGnLs8SI/v-deo.html

which motor do you have?
Does the front sway bar delete give you independent front suspension? How does it help off road
If I just adjust the keys on my 03 ranger 2wd, will I still need the camber alignment bushing?
Depends on how high you crank it. I only cranked an inch or two and it was fine.

Not really sure how to ship there. Do you have amazon?
What size tires are those I can’t find any off-road tires that will fit stock rims
Those were 32 x 11.5 on the factory wheel. That's pushing it. The previous owner ran a wheel spacer to make it work and it still rubbed a little with no lift.
What wheel spacers are you using?
Don't know what spacers they were. I took them off and sold them when I got my American Racing Outlaw II wheels. I run spidertrax spacers on my Xterra. Not really a fan of them, but the X still has factory wheels and it rubs without them. I'll ditch them when I get new wheels on that truck.
Why did you do a sway bar delete? I didn’t why catch why?
It lets the suspension cycle more freely. The sway bar can limit the downtravel and not let the beams droop independently of each other.

Hey bud, do you know the size/measurements of that center hub cap that you show on 0:37? It’s a snap in kind of cap right?
It's not a center cap. It's a locking hub for the 4wd. amzn.to/3DI0rcf
Nice! How did you get away with taller springs without taller shocks?
The shocks are too short for sure. When you droop out the front suspension, the beams are limited by the shock running out of length, but it's not really that bad. One of these days I'm gonna jack up the truck and measure how much down travel the beams have without the shocks installed and get a longer shock based on that measurement. It's just not super high priority at the moment. Lol. I'll make a video of it for sure.
I replaced front coils with 2 inches longer ones to level out front end. How much longer of a shock do i need? I put on 1 1/2 inch longer and springs seen to be to short. Thanks
Man do you have to cut the fenders to fit those tires?
What year of ranger is this?? That would help!
Vehicle specs are in the video description along with links on where to get them.
If I kept my swaybar link would I need a long one?
I think the taller lift kits come with swaybar liink extensions. This kit did not. I'm assuming it's not that drastic of a chance to need it.
I need it on mine

Hard to guarantee that because every truck is different, but in theory, yes. Though you’ll still be an inch lower in front. Mine is.
@@rayregnogarage Alright, I'll give it a shot. Thank you!
Hey. I’ve been looking at 30s I’m curious what tires you have there! Could you shoot me a link?
I offroaded these pretty hard and the only problem I had was the upper a-arm mount starting to tear. that's the weakpoint
fabtechmotorsports.com/product/2-5-performance-system-w-performance-shocks-k2109/
If you don't have coil springs, then you can just turn the torsion bar with a wrench for free. but it will ride like crap if you crank it too high. I turned my torsion bars on my 2008 2wd enough to fit 32s and it was fine. didn't go too crazy with it. didn't need keys
@@rayregnogarage ay thanks for the fast reply! Yes my truck does have springs. Since you said you don’t recommend the spacer as a leveling kit, what would you recommend? Thanks
I put a link to the Fabtech 2.5 lift in the previous comment. You can also call them and see if they still offer the 3” lift spindle. That would be a cheaper and easier route
i’ve been trying to find a 2 inch spring for my 2006 2 wheel drive ranger but i’ve only found ones for 98’s. does anyone know if they will fit a 2006
If your 2wd indeed has springs, it should be the same. but some 2wds of that year were torsion bar. Also, if you change the springs you’ll need new upper arms, too. I’ve never seen it done without arms and i’ve also never seen 2” coils. Back in the early 2000s we all used 2.5” with aftermarket upper.
great video, but pls stop saying that thing is rusty lol. I would give my left big toe to have that be the worst rust I work on in a day.
What shocks???

@@rayregnogarage good vids. after seeing yur ride after removing fender flares, you got me thinking of pulling mine. lol
so after you did this did you still have a problem with the camber? i saw on eBay you can get a set of drop brackets like for a Toyota or chevy and that fixes the camber?
@@rayregnogarage yeah I'll prolly just toss a dana 44 under it lmao. It seems way less hard and I can run leaf springs!
Does the sway bar delete affect the amount of lift you get?
No it doesn't. It lets the two sides articulate more independently.

What year is the truck? if it's a 98 or newer, you're supposed to install the extended arms with the longer coils. Also, we used to call ProComp, ProCrap. My 99 had the Fabtech kit with Bilstein 5100s and it rode pretty good.
Aww yeah, mine is the 2002. The drive-ability is terrible. I am going to need extended control arms, they are quite pricey 🙈
@@giovannivallazza It's not that bad... that's an entry level lift kit. My suspension on that blue truck was about $8k just for the front.
What if I buy 4 inch spindles instead of getting the upper control arms? Would that get my upper control off my frame?
Who makes a 4” spindle? Never heard of that
I don’t think it would help.

I still haven't changed my shocks or installed the camber adjusting nut. Haha. It's been over a year and it's fine. It's a beam truck...

That’s the part I have. Did you buy the truck new? I wonder if you have a aftermarket spring already? Also, a stiffer spring won’t compress as much
@Stronghold Garage so I called rough country and they said the spring should be the exact same height as original. It just doesn't compress as easy preventing sag but I installed with new pivot bushings and new radius arm bushing and got about 1/4" lift.

@@coltonware5627 Haha. it DOES have rust in the roof and the water leaked through and ruined the headliner. does that count? lol
@@rayregnogarage Okay, okay.. fine. You got yourself a rust bucket, you happy now? 🤣😝
@@coltonware5627 Hahahaha. Yes!
Try living in Michigan, that Truck would be called "rust free".
Ha yes. I stayed with a friend in Ann Arbor for a week last summer and was shocked at how many trucks there were with the bedsides rusted through above the tires. I’m from Southern California. What’s road salt? haha
Him : my truck is so rusty
Me with a 94 : (laughs in OHIOan ) I have to use a grinder for every bolt on my truck
Ha. I’m from San Diego. We don’t know what rust is. My father in law is from Minnesota and made fun of me for weeks about this.

Funny to hear from you because my father in law yesterday was like “I would have kept that set for spares”. I don’t have any right now. Lol. Glad you’re enjoying them!

Deleting the sway bars you will find out a few years later that your wheel bearings are completely worn out‼️ When designing your truck The engineers put them there for a REASON ‼️
Same with bigger wheels and tires with aggressive offset. Ya da ya da ya da. Wheel bearings are cheap and easy to replace. It’s a small price to pay for better handling off road.
