- Are electric buses the future of matatu in Kenya? In this video, I explore the cost, logistics and business of owning an electric bus in Kenya. I interviewed drivers, touts and owners of electric buses and also travelled with one within Nairobi. I share my thoughts on the advantages and challenges of electric buses as matatus in Kenya. Watch this video to learn more about this innovative and eco-friendly mode of transport.

It's a nice development, although the EVs need smooth roads for efficiency in energy consumption!
Miano the company does not have a raw deal yao remember the deal on matatu mingi (peter nyamumo)'s concept
Miano ikizeeka Haina resale,

12,500 is gross collections for a day. Running expenses for a day? Wages, Sacco fees, operational fees, Tyres, Insurance, those may add upto 100k so your 210k less 100k is 110k if nothing unusual happens. To collect 4M back will be maybe 4 years.
7k is the amount that remains after daily expenses... So I was working on that... Only expense not catered for is insurance n tyres
No Sacco fees as hizo gari ni za Saccos
Lets take your facts then, at minimum you need Insurance say TPO @15k a month, 500 per day. Average fees for Council licenses a day 250, Tyres 6 new ones every 6 months will be 90k so 500 per day total to have it ready is 1,250. If it moves and say it does 150 kms minimum thats 3k to recharge, wages 3k. So the cost to operate is KSh 7,250 a day less that from the KSh. 12,500 balance KSh. 5,250. Also remember you need set aside some maintenance for say suspensions, dents.. I would put aside 500 daily, All factors constant how long then for the sacco? A year will be 330 days to cater for any unforeseen events that can affect the business. The more kms covered the charge cost relatively grows. My take is that they need to be very efficient to avoid any dead time and empty seats for the 250km available to them.
Je token zikiisha mkiwa jogoo road?
🤣🤣
Juu unajiendesha na kujilipisha kama Tesla???
Hapo kwa paying the cost of the bus in 2 years you have assumed mwenyewe na wafanyikazi wata Shakahola?
7k ni balance after all expenses for the day
Hii gava ya hustler ipelekwe training kwa super metro 😂
Hapo I agree... Very professional 😄😄
There is no way Isuzu will allow itself to be dethroned out of the market
Lazima wachange starategy juu financially speaking the basigo model makes sense to matatu owners
