This is an eye opener.I feel the policy our country has put in place are the ones that are making hard our matatu owners to thrive. That operation cist is too high.
Am always in love with your content bro...and since am so passionate about this business despite the disappointments,I think I'll take you as my mentor in this when the right time comes for me to get into this business.Though I prefer to be driving it myself.
@@mianomuthii I have a question please answer if you can. You've mentioned about saccos and the fees that one pays monthly. What do you get in return from these saccos? Apart from the 3500 that they pay yearly, is there any other advantages of joining one? Do you think it's a scam? 2ndly. I can understand why insurance is at a premium but the question is...if there's an accident and everyone dies in that van, do you think insurances do reimburse family members or do they only pay the matatu driver and all is done? Thanks in advance. Good content btw:)
@@mamayao4208 okay... First the sacco fees you pay some are used for operations and the monthly shares are savings that earn you dividends a year..most saccos py between 5 to 15 % interest with regards to the earnings and expenses of the saccos. This savings also gives you access to cheaper loans i.e 1% to 0.8% a month. Lastly the insurance is a third party and no car insurance in Kenya covers drivers. So it falls under third party insurance law's
That 2.8m you can do 18 single rooms 4k each room 72k every month zinaingia kwa account bila kusumbuana na kanjo, police, ntsa, insurance, mechanics, driver, conductor, sacco...

Kudos bro for such an informative videos. One time i was interested in this biz..2nk has over 800 matatus. That means major routes are thinly shared and this affects the income. Kindly cover this topic in your future video.
Thank you for explaining what most refuse to explain. Most people talk about the bigger buses, but at least you've explained the 14 seaters. Is there anywhere that the different county fees and sacco joining fees are documented online or you just have to ask people?
Wah great content bro. People should about this channel. nimelearn a lot yenye univesity haiwezi funza. Also some questions i have which you may discuss next content, What is the very importance ya kuwa kwa sacco? na ni lazma mtu akue kwa sacco? shares ni ya nini tena? Uki buy matt iko already kwa sacco (eg MOM sacco) route tuseme Bamburi-Ferry.. uivishe body...but unataka ku change route ichape Mtwapa-Ferry but still MOM sacco wana operate.. As a new owner lazma you join the sacco again as new owner?
Yeah 👍... Unless you are hosted by the seller of the vehicle without the knowledge of the sacco which is illegal and could bring new issues... This is juu lazima Ile gari utalipia tlb n kulipia advance tax..

You can’t get in matatu business if you’re brand new, utakulwa bure. It’s a cartel business where money is only made by old timers in business.
Very true especially in big Sacco's

Nope comprehensive insurance is just 4% of the car value for the whole year
If a vehicle niya 3.9 m wat might be the monthly rate for a comprehensive insurance please

And what is the benefits of these sacco things?
First lazima gari owe ina Sacco or limited liability company to be a matatu, second owning hizo stage points n route's ni expensive as an individual..
