Man the smile on Anish's face when Sagar bhai told him not to slow down coz thats how a top player thinks and thats how he wants the show to display was too wholesome.
Exactly sagar. I too, make it 1.5x playback speed to finish quickly. But, I am able to do that after following you for 2 years. I could get each word correctly from you like my friend. Your chesslove is great.
I learnt the KIA against French and I know the main moves as Anish says in 17:50 ; and it works most of the time. But I always had these games where opponents played dxe4, I kept playing same moves but my g2 bishop is sad. This is the first video where I get a great and clear cut discussion on this alternative, with Nc6 and dxe4, turns out g3, Bg2 is bad! Though it is from the black perspective, I recommend this discussion from 18:44 to every KIA player. Good stuff by Anish!
One more comment for the GM Anish giri world no.10. We are well known that, he is very good chess player and in this lockdown we also have known how good his sense of humor is!! But, one more thing I have noticed is, his love for chess simple crosses the limits. Otherwise, we won't be getting these streams free! One day, I too want to teach chess free of cost!!! That's one of my goals.
Dude, he had a Banter-Blitz session - I am NOT a good player, but I usually choose the french for black. Before I knew what was happening he accepted and I had played the french defense.. Then it dawned on me who I just took on with the french.. lol. I mean, I was probably losing to a GM anyway, but a Super GM whose speciality is the French... Yeah... Such an honor though, really think I might take his course after that experience.
Watched it all. Amazing. On another planet. I'm rethinking all my chess life (not that big, 1725 elo fide) still amazed. In the end I would have loved to see the end of the game, but actually I don't even care. Still in shock. Superb! EDIT: I just saw the part 2 in the description! It's like a dream ahahah. Thanks Chessbase India, Sagar Shah and Anish Giri!
I haven't watched this but his explanation on Sicilian defence is also something else. The way he explains it, even toddlers would understand, it's insane how good these guys are with or without prep
What an incredible video promoting Anishi's jjust published course on the French Defense. I'm left with mixed impressions on the course, but not the value of the course. Does that make sense? There is no doubt in my mind that the course will be filled with excellent lines and quality content that will stand the test of time... Something a player could come back to and revisit repeatedly, getting more understanding every time. What takes me aback, though is how different the approach and lines are from how I learned and play the French. Anish's style is typical of today which is probably influenced greatly by strong computer games and analysis... The result is that Anish is probably always looking to open the game to his advantage because he's one of the world's leading creative players. And yet... That's not my practical experience playing the French so far... Practically every player I've played at every level is not blessed with Anish's creativity so my French rarely open up, instead are games of long maneuvering and making my positional advantage decisive. So, if the video is an example of Anish's approach to opening theory Emphasis is always placed on tactical advantage in open positions and not necessarily a deeper insight into less dynamic positions. But, it will be very interesting to see if Anish's work and his approach becomes influential and spawns disciples of his approach who can crush players like myself. It's the old argument whether the energy of a Tal can overcome the patience and positional insight of a Petrosian.
Anish is one of the best chess players in the world. To buy a course from him is like buying a book (science, math, etc) from one of the best professors in the world. If you are interested in learning and have few bucks, feel free to contribute for the time spent by the best professionals in the world.
Thank you Anish (and Sagar of course to make it possible) for share your ideas! It is a real privilege! On the other hand, it is very funny that two indian superstars (like you and Anand) talks also very fast! XD
Smart & valuable, ChessBase can't keep up with Giri's presentation. But it was a bit too frenetic, perhaps impatient. Hopefully the course will be less rushed.🙂👍
I came back to this video to see what Anish recommended against 2.d3 and the King’s Indian Attack and I was not disappointed. This idea of Nf6 an early Nc6 and f6 is interesting…
Anish shouldn't slow down but go fast in my opinion. Showing how good he is. We need to attempt to reach his level he shouldn't try stoop down to ours just so we can keep up. We can pause and playback as much time as we want
Sagar’s response to Anish not responding well to flattery is hilarious to me. He does it multiple times in the video and is always left slightly disappointed 😂. Amazing content. Like a masterclass in French
Anish is wrong. 25:40 Blue Yeti mics have 4 directional settings: 1 setting is to pick up everything, but just turn the knob to change it to directional mic.
Keep it for lower rated players!!! Lower rated players will play exchanged french and its difficult to win. But sicilian have sidelines like o’kelly, pin variation, kan sicilian (u can have trick moveorder e6, c5..). French only for those who know how to play…
Oh my god, yes, there's plenty of good and great stuff here, but damn it - too much time wasted for unnecessary talks. Even when after 15 mins of pointless or irrelevant intro they finally start, then smth happens and once again we see the non-French setting on the board.
Sagar is annoying at 38:04. He is trying to be sneaky, - 'the idea of stream is to inspire y so go and buy' he is advertising anish course when anish didn't even WANT to that - just so that sagar could look like a bigger person in front of anish but patronising us. At least anish doesn't want to patronise us.❤️ seriously nobody likes things being shoved down our faces if we want to buy we can buy we know it exists.
@@sahitgarapati6700 over critical? Literally nobody criticises him. When he is good to us I support him but some things need to be pointed out. Don't deceive us, it's simple. Anish also knows this, these are simple social behaviours that people can detect- if someone is being patronising or not/ taking advantage of our niceness. Please stop silencing criticism of your favourites, I like sagar too. 🙂

God bless you Anand. Very good intention.
That a5 idea around the 55 minute mark is unreal. What depth, what brilliant analysis. This is the kind of idea that reveals the wonders of chess
Anish has studied the french in so much depth it's insane

Anish is so amazing !!! Kudos to all of u for so much of knowledgeable streams
Listening to Anish talk down on playing timidly when he had 52 draws in his last 65 games is just wild
