I've always done the tapping with face massages to help release collagen and lymp drainage. But now I will start tapping of my body daily...I get why the under breath tapping is a favorite. Holding ears with crossed hands and doing sit ups was actually a punishment at my school. Little did we all realise that it was to balance our brain.
This was also done during Ganesh festivals in India.

Do it in the morning, before leaving for work, that's how we Indians have been doing it for millennia... also do a full squat.
Catching the ear lobes and doing sit ups is recommended as a prevention for Almeizier disease.
