Over the course of many months and several datsun videos my passion for them has reignited. My passion began when i was just 19 and my first car was a 280z (hilarious as it may be she was a 77). I'm now 41 and your videos have inspired me to get another datsun in my life and build a mini truck. My only problem now is figuring out if I will go 620,720 or go D21. Ok I lied there is 2 problems I highly doubt I can fit in a standard cab being 6'4" 350lbs so king cab is probably my only option. Thank you for all you do good sir.
720 king cab is a great pick!
Daily driving a '82 720 single cab, at 6ft 265lbs, it's tight but headroom is okay... Would not recommend road trips without frequent breaks to stretch the legs.

I know first hand that it's take what you can get but that firewall isn't getting any further away even if my preferred bodyline lacks the extra rear window... Then there's the matter of lb20's, z22/24's being dead end with the coveted ka24de swap being behind the drift tax...
Reality is, the 720/hard body line isn't great unless you compromise. Some compromises ask too much.

You can look to Mexico. We have a lot of nice trucks here and even some 4 door 720s. The 720 was made until 1993 in Mexico so there are still a lot around.

Amazing what a Datsun can do! When I had my 79 620 king cab,I towed a geo metro full of household items on stow dolly,had a canopy with more stuff and a 250 motorcycle, plus me,the wife, and my 7 year old son. From Texas to Washington. Kudos to Datsun!

That engine sounded really good after you put it back together. Don’t overwork it and blow it up. Put new plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, an oil change, thermostat and new radiator with fresh coolant and it will be a runner for a while

@@Peppy11769 Truth, I was just saying that that particular truck it is in is probably too far gone to bring back to daily service. That motor should really be moved to something a little further from death by cancer etc.

i went to the dollar store , bought a stack of clear plastic cups for a dollar ,duh. wrote on each one the part and put the bolts in.you can then restack them with bolts in them they store nice and are easy to take to the wire wheel

Great video! I once knew a guy that had a Datsun with a utility body on it and dual rear wheels, always full of spare parts and assorted heavy junk, but he drove it daily for years.

No joke, when I went to look at buying my first 720 at age 15, the guy used it to pull 24ft cabin crusiers around his boat dealership. After that and the abuse I put it through it was still running strong when I sold it at 210000 miles.

Hey Puddin, if you're gonna get the flywheel surfaced for ol' blue no.2 ask your machine shop to lighten and balance the flywheel, only if it's in the budget.
Doesn't need to be super lightweight/racing style but losing a few extra pounds will help make it more responsive/pull rpm a little quicker without sacrificing driveability.
