- Powerful scenes in The Painted Veil.
"The whole is greater than the sum of its parts." And the movie as a whole is more impressive than just a collection of striking scenes.

how'd this movie/book manage to have such great scenes, squished into 5 minutes, i'll never know
For once the movie is more superb than the book. That's a first.
Never thought much of Norton, until I saw this. It was as if his manager had been hiding his actual range for decades.
He was good, except his accent. He was supposed to be English, but his accent wasn’t
His range is exactly what's so impressive about him. (Did you see American History X? Or Primal Fear?)
um have you even seen any of his movies??? lmao
Edward Norton is an excellent actor. Thing is, the industry tends to dislike him, he can be too intense and difficult.
It's silly to look for qualities in each of us, we never had
I was reading this in same second edward norton said it
the best scene is the first meeting between Kitty and the nun:
- "I describe myself as a member of the Church of England
- which, I suppose, is an inoffensive way of saying that you don't believe in anything"
Anyone who has read the book by Somerset, are these characters real or they were fictions, figments of Somerset's imaginations? BTW Someset often stayed at Raffles Hotel in Singapore, and there is a Somerset Station now.
I read his "Razor's Edge", and I read somewhere that he based the main character on a real man who became a Hindu mystic, went celibate and lived like a hermit in his apartment. The way it was mentioned like that guy had reached real illumination
Just a ordinary woman not perfect like u think - what exactly people mean by this. Make mistakes continously and apologise the same?
"People". You mean the character. It means that ordinary people are flawed and that idealists suffer from immaturity.
@@vinniecasqer840 Flawed... Yes but infidelity isn't a flaw at all... Idiots have desensitized it and left society in ruins. Word is worth shit.
Why guys does not search woman on their level. But push woman to love them from higher level
I hated how their relationship was the whole movie, I was looking forward to their coming back together and falling in love again but then she freaking finds out she’s pregnant and is from the other guy and I literally stopped the movie there and didn’t watch anymore lol
Ne the kid is from norton walter edward norton not the other guy she betraid him with no return its very beatifull peace u must watch it again its one of my faviourates really
In fact, she doesn't know who the father is. In the end, the boy who plays the kid looks like Edward Norton, so it can be a clue 😋
He died of cholera, not heterosexuality. He was an epidemiologist who chose to go to China.
"Best scenes" where "best" means "her side of the story". She's an adultress in all those scenes! He had to die to redem her
You can't love who you don’t love 🤷♂️ tho he was a great guy, too bad she figured it out too late.
Walter is a typical mommy's boy
These narcissist women smh
Narcissistic ? These women at that time didn’t have say in who they marry. You expect to force relationships on them and stay loyal. Y’all moids are truly the narcissistic and wicked
both are problematic, both marrying each other for the wrong reasons
Yeah let's ignore the fact that Charlie Townsend and all the Charlies and Chads out there had a choice not to pursue and bang someone else's wife- let alone cheat on his own wife with different women other than Kitty. You narcissist men with your double standards smh.
