I wish it was so much better, but here it is! You asked me to please watch this film once, and I did,(and suprise suprise, I LOVE IT!! I watched the movie years ago. Basically, she's a cheating ho but eventually realizes he's a decent dude. Then he dies. Funny stuff.

@@kathhqq7 He was an idiot and tried to simp, but then he gave up and pretty much treated her like shit. While he was treating her like shit, she realized he was actually a good dude. Still, she had some other dude's baby and is a ho, but she was ahead of her time, because most of these modern women are like this now.

It was her choice not love. She had to chosen him as an option after being dumped by Charles. I felt very bad for Dr Fane. He was so in love with her.

This is a beautiful film..basically she marries him and doesn't love him. She cheats on him but she learns to love him more than anything else in the world. Her heart is changed when she sees his service to others dying of cholera and when she herself is humbled and works with the orphans
I think this story had so much potential. The movie took this story in a direction I did not agree with, and executed some things in ways I would have done differently. But, it's a movie I will definitely treasure!

I'm pretty sure that if Walter had known she was pregnant he would've thought of some other way to punish her. I think he would've divorced her and leave her to handle the fallout by herself.
A divorced woman pregnant with a child not her husband's? Ouch. In the book Kitty (despite what other people think) didn't really change much at the end. She was still selfish, silly, spoiled and most of all spiteful. There is the part where she (to herself) compares Walter to a dog in a derogatory way. Even though HER name is KITTY. I really wished that I could go into the book and smack her! 😡 At least, in the film she realizes her husband's true worth and hopefully came to love him in the way he deserved. ❤️❤️
The Chinese are really gorgeous in this kind of movie.

That music... Abel? And voiceovers. I'm basically empty. And those little details like 0.24-27. Too psychologically and emotionally perfect. And the climax. This is not easy film to interpret. But you can make everything right? And since this is one of my propably two of my favourites of all time I am thrilled you've enjoyed it.
