Hanuman
Hanu means jaw and man is respect. So when indra and other gods respected him after hitting his jaw not knowing who he is was. Then they given him many boons and weapons so he became Hanuman.
Hanuman is derived from the word hanumat. Mat indicates prominent quality. So one with a prominent jaw is Hanuman. One whose prominent quality is intelligence is buddhiman. One whose prominent quality is strength is shaktiman and so on.

Hanuman is vaanar and not monkey. Vaanar is a species similar to humans. Also, your explanation of meaning of Hanu and Man is good. At the same time, I want you to explain the philosophical meaning of Hanuman swallowing the Sun. I am sure it was not written with literal word meaning but a more deeper meaning.
The meaning of him swallowing the sun could be to show his thirst for knowledge and his curiosity.

I think it’s probably something along the lines of there being a major solar eclipse around the time that hanuman was a child. A solar eclipse that looks like the sun being eaten. But this still doesn’t bring hanuman into the story so if you have an idea I’d love to know

Regarding the untranslatable, I am very uncomfortable with Lord Ramachandra, Lord Krishna etc. Why don't we avoid this foreign honorific altogether? It should be Bhagavan Sri Ramachandra, or just Sri Ramachandra. Similarly with Sri Krishna, Sri Ramakrishna, with whom we should use only Bhagavan or none.

@Shrideep Paul No, अर्पण implies an offering, and समर्पण = सम् + अर्पण implies that which is like an offering.
An offering is something handed to a deity or a cause, while a samarpana is something handed to a fellow human, but with a similar sense of devotion and dedication towards the recipient. The two actions are not identical, since in Arpana there is no direct cognizable recipient, and the offering is made in a symbolic sense, but in Samarpana the offering is literal.
Samarpan means to give someone without expecting getting something back

Very impressed by the knowledge and depth of learning of this Traditional Acharya, Satyanarayana Dasa Babaji. The coming together of this sadhu with Rajiv ji is truly fortuitous for Sanatana dharma.
On a lighter note, Bhagavan is NOT equal to Lord.

More that devotion to lord devotion to devotees of Lord pleases Lord more. Hanuman is greatest devotee, so we pray to him to get his mercy so tht we can also do bhakti like him and become dear to Lord. Forms are subservient and irrelavant in bhakti. .

When I read Ramayana I always considered the Vanaras as forest tribe, maybe a different subspecies. But then I cannot reconcile with them flying. It's hard to understand which parts of Ramayana are factual history and which of it is more the poetic license taken by Valmiki.
If Vanars were tribes then Ram's friend Guha would have been called vanar too.
Hence Vanars were defiantly different species, and it is very likely as if you go by Vedic time system, this incident should be older than 17thouand years. and archeologically there were many other human like species, and Homo Erectus are said have gone extinct 50K years ago which an uncertainty of +- 30K years... which brings it very close to the possibility of ....
The Devatas Disguised themselves as a completely different form, a mixture of Human and Monkey characteristics in order to counter the Boon given to Ravana by Brahmadev. Lord Rama appeared as a Human and Lord Shiva appeared as Hanuman (Rudra Avatar) and led the devatas (as Vaanara) to defeat Ravana army. That's why Lord Hanuman is very powerful, intelligent, Jnani, Yogi just Like Lord Shiva.
There is inherent flaw in this story.
Remember Hanuman didn't kill or defeated Ravana.

How did hanuman ji did lanka dehen? The story goes like this: ravan put his tail on fire and then hanuman ji burnt the lanka by his tail. If he was not a monkey how he has a tail? Please explain this anyone.
Rajiv ji said that "vanara" were a different species all together - most characters like a human, some characters of a monkey. The species doesn't exist today, do its difficult to prove !!!! Hanuman burnt down the entire Lanka because he was powerful. Any ordinary monkey will be burnt and die if its tail is put on fire !!!!

Interestingly, the Sanskrit term "Vanara" ('forest man') has a very close analog to the Native American term "Sasquatch" (from the Salish language meaning 'wild man of the woods'). And analyzing the way Valmiki described the Vanaras, there's this theory that Vanaras were actually Homo Neanderthals. This also busts Darwin's evolutionary theory as this would clearly mean that the two species of humans, Neanderthals and Sapiens had actually co existed.
