. I recite hanuman chalisa daily and the context of chalisa describes that lord hanuman have a very fluid attitude when it comes to deal with problems. He shrinks and expands according to the need of the circumstance . In a way the chalisa is trying to teach humans to be fluid like lord hanuman when facing obstacles in your path.

By singing, speaking and listening or writing and reading one meditates automatically. That's what I do also when I'm cooking. This is a mantra Ma = spirit and tra = liberated = eternal conscious bliss = self-satisfaction. This consciousness is the original energy of the living being. Or if you have other wishes, these will also be fulfilled. Along with knowing their worth in comparison. Of course, Sanskrit can also be translated, e.g. with the internet, but I want to leave it at that. It is not necessary to understand the language of the mantra. As already mentioned, it also fulfills wishes and that in turn encourages one in practice to repeat this Maha mantra more often, over and over, to chant, speak and hear ...
When i was 6 or 7 years old in summers I was sleeping in my porch. At around 5 am my eyes got open and I was seeing beautiful sky...! I was amazed to see how beautiful the sky is and suddenly I saw a small object flying... I focused on it and I saw a being with mace was flying and he had a tail as well..! I was completely shocked...i saw him for 30-40 seconds...and I ran inside to pull my elder brother...i dragged him outside but that being was not there anymore..! Till this date when i close my eyes that moment and that vision is still there in my consciousness...! That being was none other than Hanuman....!

@Amal coccyx is a tail! We call it coccyx when it is vestigial(un usable); and obviously hanumans tail was super usable. Added with this is his entire race had tails and fur. According to Ramayana, Hanumaan has been referred to as Vanara and Kapi. Latter definitely means monkey.

As per the standard model of particle physics If you break down a particle into its subatomic particles you will find that the force by itself does not exist. There are some subatomic particles that act as force carriers. Like Gluons, Hex Bosons and so on. One of that sub particle is Graviton. That is responsible for the gravitational force. Now there is no way to prove if Graviton exists. I mean mathematicians have proved it using math but it's physically not possible to test at this point of time. I think Lord Hanuman was enlightened enough to control and remove those gravitons from underneath his feet or body thereby applying anti-gravity. This way he could fly. This is my understanding. I might be wrong.
And I am not sure how he could expand or contrast his body. Like for.e.g if he makes his body small where does the remaining mass go? and when he increases from where his body gains mass? Like if he gets 20ft long imagine how big his heart should become to pump the blood across his entire body. I think we can never figure this out using our conventional science..

No one can actually measure the real strength of Hanuman but in the Vayu purana It is stated one strand of his body hair is believed to be as strong as 10,000 Indras combined, Now Indra is said to have the strength of 10,000 Airavats ( His elephant which alone has the strength of 10,000 normal elephants). So, in terms of Physical strength Hanuman's strength is infinite and immeasurable.
