I got 2 small birds of paradise about a year ago and potted them next to a small built pond in South Texas USA (our summers reach 115°F -46°C-). At first, they kind of burned a bit but grew and multiplied .... they are as tall as the house now. Covered them in winter and just trimmed all the cold damaged and they are sooooo big now!!
I only grow snake plants and love it when someone says they can offer so much more than 'forget them in a dark corner, and they'll be fine'. There are so many types of snake plants, and with the right light and care, they are awesome. Love your videos, and I watched them even when you speak about plants I will never grow :)
I find your videos so calming. Even when they aren’t on plants I’m particularly interested in, I love watching them. And I needed this today so thank you 💚
I’ve been watching you for quite a long time, I came across this channel by accident, but fell in love with what you do instantly. Thank you for your work, for the experience and knowledge that you share with us! I adore you ❤
I love ALL of your videos but... this has to be one of my favorites. I'm 100% in love with your sweatshirt and I love how you're putting info in the corner. Your videos get better and better and I enjoy watching them more and more. Much love from Wisconsin!❤
Your camera quality is absolutely stunning. You have the clearest videos out of every video I watch. Keep doing what you’re doing. You are doing great!!!!!❤❤❤
I have been watching your videos forever now & am so so addicted to them! Lol I love all your beautiful plants, your beautiful home and of course - Ross & Yoli! :) Your accent and voice are so soothing & calming! Thanks for sharing all your knowledge, I have learned so much from you & my plants are thriving now😊
Thanks for the info on the white bird. Love this plant. I live in Southern US and trying one for the second time. Enjoy you, your puppy, your man, and your videos. Keep up the excellent, joyful vids😊😊❤❤
Yes, do a part 2. I am enjoying adding to my plant jungle, but I like to avoid those hard to grow plants. They can turn out to be money down the drain. I am getting the feeling it is very possible to have a nice variety without overdoing the more fuzzy plants. Another video I would like is one on growing plants in semi-hydroponics. Which plants are well suited to this, the care, etc. What to watch out for. In other words, what would a beginner need to know. Thanks.
Hi Claire I adore you, your channel and all the lovely info. I’m brand new to plants at 42 years old 😅 I would love to see the names of plants listed in the description 🙏 Also, what’s your skincare or make routine? Please share how you have such flawless, dewy skin! ❤
22:26 In Sweden we call the zzplant a wardrobe plant, and that resonate so well with the lighting requirement this plant has. So you can really grow this in almost no light at all😊❤
Thank you for sharing your plants :-) I have watched your channel for more than 2 years I attribute my success with houseplants to all the knowledge I get from you. Thank you again and happy 2024 growing season 🙂I
I really love the ZZ plants. So beautiful when it is a full plant. You can get away with little watering for months and it still survives. I recently planted mine in a new pretty ceramic pot. I love the many varieties such as the Raven and Akebono. Love the Cast Iron plant. This plant was popular during Victorian times. So hardy, so beautiful. Really enjoyed this video!!! 🥰
Love all the suggestions! It was so nice of the filming guy to give you a pup from his alocasia, what a lovely thing to think of doing. I so want a cast iron plant, they look like big versions of peace lillies to me, which are one of my fave plants (unpopular, I know!)
Thanks for sharing it was a delight watching your video it was so nice seeing my hobby being explained with such depth you can see the joy it gives you describing each plant thanks for tips looking forward to your future videos 🤗👏👏👏👏💐♥️😊
The McDowell is really easy, the only downside, for me, is that it's crawling and takes up a lot of space. Mine is currently producing 2 flowers and they are so pretty with their beautiful red colors! The regal shield is an amazing plant! Mine just pushed out a 45cm long leaf and it's so incredibly chill to care for. I have mine in my South facing window and it loves it. My jose buono has such interesting patterns on the leaves, it's fascinating. Some leaves are very bright with tiny dark green splotches all over them, others have huge patches of light green. I highly recommend this plant because it can look so interesting and it's so easy to care for!
Would you make a video about how to cultivate your plants in semi-hydro (when to water, when to feed, how to pass from soil to semi-hydro….) Would love to see that, it would really help!
What a lovely selection Claire! I'm an underwaterer so I'm leary of anthuriums but maybe I'll try that one, if the price comes down! Re hybrids being less fussy and often better doers than the parents, etc, it's actually called "hybrid vigour". And yes, it's used for plants and animals! Your euphorbia is amazing! I'm envious 😂
I think I had a zz plant stashed away somewhere where it got no light and i remembered it 6 months later. It was still alive and kicking. It got very big. I even put runner beans into its soil and let those use it to climb. Didn't care. Are we sure at this point that zz plants are not in fact made of plastic?😄
One of my cats has a tendency to chew on plants to get my attention because she knows I don't want her to do it 😅 She doesn't care if it's toxic or not. As long as she gets fed 😂
Mine started doing that, I gave him attention the moment he gets away from the plant and it all stopped. However, I did sacrifice a few leaves to get the habit out of him.
I have a quite a few plants of different types and sizes but nothing like your collection - love it. I don't know how you remember all their names or cultivation needs as i don't see any labels!!! Sufficient light, humidity and central heating are my major problems and I just don't know how to overcome these problems. Winter inside (instead of conservatory) was devastating and so upsetting . 😢
As always, a very enjoyable watch. Have been using pon now for about 8 months. Plants loved it to start with especially alocasia but in the last few weeks have lost a few bery quickly to root rot- can't figure out why. Thanks for passing on a your knowledge.
I bought a zz plant around a month ago to add to my ever growing collection. Went to change the soil with my own special mix and pleasantly surprised, I made three separate plants from it. So happy and yes the gro lights work a treat on them. 😊
Love your videos thank you for sharing your knowledge with the community. My husband just bought me 2 plants, one is the Venus Fly trap and the Nepenthes (Pitcher Plant). Do you own these plants?
This was fantastic! Please, share more! I've got a question for anyone who is good with Birds of Paradise: how do you keep the leaves from curling? Mine is in at least 70% humidity, with consistently most soil. The temperature is average for a house and it's under a 24W Sansi grow bulb. It keeps giving me new leaves but the older ones curl. It's doubled in size over the past six months so I'm doing something right - but I'm missing something! Oh, I fertilize with the American version of Gold Leaf and Cal-Mag regularly and I keep those curly leaves clean with a Neem Oil solution. What am I missing?
They don't need that much light in my opinion. Try moving the grow light out some or maybe turning it off and see the response you get from the plant. They don't need fertilizer but once daily.
Oh no. The comment about the dogs wasn't quite right. If you take two dog breeds and mix them you get diseases from two breeds in one dog. The same happens with plants, but the horticulturists select the healthiest plants to grow on and discard the others. This is why many hybrids are quite expensive. There are many years of work behind it. Otherwise, I love your programs. You are a fountain of knowledge and experience and I am so grateful that you share. You series about diffrent flower shops was great. I wish with all my heart that you could have your own TV show where you talk about different houseplants and interview different experts and growers about houseplants. There are many programs about gardens but none about potted plants. At least not in Sweden where I live.😁
Tree fern fibre. Can you please let us know what plants you can use this in. I ve looked online but there is really not a lot of info out there at all. I recently bought some and I was wondering if it could be used for Prayer plants or Alocasias?? Very very limited info online!!
I also have several plants and my Aglaonemas never had pests, never! The others they have pests or fungi (begonias). To be honest the difficult part for me is to treat fungi, because I have found an insecticide in a drug store that is not meant for plants but a professional florist recommended the product to me and it’s really amazing, the effect lasts for months. My calatheas are finally doing fine for a long time. But unfortunately I haven’t still found the magic product for fungi 😭
Ive seen this video before, but it started playing automatically after another video so I let it run. My jose bueno is growing like a weed & the leaves are always perfect & shiny! A few of my plants have a natural sheen, but this one always looks like I sprayed leaf shine on it, which I would never do.
Really love your videos. Can you say if your cast iron plant is the same as an aspidistra which also needs very little light. You are lucky to have such a well lit apartment,
I can’t find the Euphorbia Cenis anywhere! There are too many Euphorbia to find the one you have. I’m in the US. Any recommendations for finding your specific plant?
Hi! Have you ever had a leopard lily? I just picked up one at a plant swap and haven't really been able to find any care videos on them. Are they rare?
I have 3 different zz plants. Im trying to consolidate do you think i could plant them together? Ive started babies from 2 of them but the Raven doesnt seem to want to propogate and thats the one i really like. Any suggestions?
Claire i have a lot of plants indoor but has problem with gnats, i bottom feed, put little rocks on top to cover the soil, winter not much gnats now its summer and they are back, i put yellow sticky too, what to do? Help!
Hi, I am obsessed with your Euphoria Acrurensis and would love to get a started plant. I have looked on Etsy more times than a sane person would. Could it be under another possible name?
I got a baby Palodiflorum last year because it's been one of my wishlist plants for forever! I love mine so much 🥰 I have also realized that mine is also super thirsty. I got mine growing in a mix of fine orchid bark, worm castings, perlite, and coco coiure. I'm currently unemployed so tree fern fiber is going to have to wait till I get a job again lol
Your BOP looks like my banana plant. Did you know that banana leaves do split when mature due to the elements (wind, rain etc) which I know doesn't happen inside your home. Weird 😅

I'm an Aglaonema and Pothos kinda gal; I just love them. They are hard to kill and not prone to pests and Pothos, in particular, just love to grow.
I’ve been watching you for quite a long time, I came across this channel by accident, but fell in love with what you do instantly. Thank you for your work, for the experience and knowledge that you share with us! I adore you ❤
I agree about the Sanseveria Moonshine - so stunning!!! ❤
Am so torn on this one... some are stunning, some are meh... hoping to come across one eventually that tugs my plantstrings ;-)
I love ALL of your videos but... this has to be one of my favorites. I'm 100% in love with your sweatshirt and I love how you're putting info in the corner.

Your plants are in extraordinary condition, unlike most other plant people. Just found you, I am a fan! Thank you!❤🎉❤

You can put the euphorbia on the balcony with the aloe they can keep each other company!
Part 2? Yes, please! ❤

Love your videos and would love to see a part 2. These were great recommendations, not the common ones everyone usually give.
I have an Aspitistra it is verigated ! And gets lots of light on the patio, not much direct sun but good light and is doing wonderfully!
Would you make a video about how to cultivate your plants in semi-hydro (when to water, when to feed, how to pass from soil to semi-hydro….) Would love to see that, it would really help!

I love my snake plant and earlier this year she flowed for me and living in the north of England was a lovely surprise
❤I love you’re videos! They really are so relaxing and relatable

Nice to see a fellow Brit, very informative, love the room with all the plants, just how I want mine to look... Oh nice dog too :P
Got here early! Love your planty content! :)
As always, a very enjoyable watch. Have been using pon now for about 8 months. Plants loved it to start with especially alocasia but in the last few weeks have lost a few bery quickly to root rot- can't figure out why. Thanks for passing on a your knowledge.
Maybe keeping the reservoir too high?
Bird of Paradise is so easygoing 👍 Mine is 8 feet tall with 3 foot leaves now, it summers outside in 🇨🇦
part 2 - yes please
Put that zz under a grow light. Within a month, you'll have stalks all over. Mine has 5 sprouting
I bought a zz plant around a month ago to add to my ever growing collection. Went to change the soil with my own special mix and pleasantly surprised, I made three separate plants from it. So happy and yes the gro lights work a treat on them. 😊
New to your channel. Excited on learning all I can. Blessings 🙂
Thank you for this video ❤
I LOVE my bird of paradise too, I even think it likes me too.
Yes, part 2 pls..
Love your videos thank you for sharing your knowledge with the community. My husband just bought me 2 plants, one is the Venus Fly trap and the Nepenthes (Pitcher Plant). Do you own these plants?
Yes to part 2😊
I feel so called out by the title of this video! It's like you know me.
My alocasia's & my Anthurium love Pon & do well in my home with 50 to 60 percent humidity
This was fantastic! Please, share more!

Beautiful sanaservias
I just repotted my medium size monstera delicioso. Wish me luck it survives 🤞
My agloanema is a bit of a pain really. So fussy! Could you make a video on how you care for yours?
can you do a more in depth video on how you’ve grown your alocasia as so?
Nice dear ❤
Hello. You have a plant that feels like a horse’s tongue. It is called little Wally. I love your channel. Cheers
I can’t find the Euphorbia Cenis anywhere! There are too many Euphorbia to find the one you have. I’m in the US. Any recommendations for finding your specific plant?

I have 3 different zz plants. Im trying to consolidate do you think i could plant them together? Ive started babies from 2 of them but the Raven doesnt seem to want to propogate and thats the one i really like. Any suggestions?
My Cast iron plant is pushing out 6 new shoots currently!
Hello,Claire, my bird of paradise rolled up its leaves after moving from nursery pot and changing the soil. One leaf died. Will it survive?(
Claire i have a lot of plants indoor but has problem with gnats, i bottom feed, put little rocks on top to cover the soil, winter not much gnats now its summer and they are back, i put yellow sticky too, what to do? Help!
I didn t know, that are 7 or 8 Different species in the Agleonema family . Are you willing making a video?
Hi, I am obsessed with your Euphoria Acrurensis and would love to get a started plant. I have looked on Etsy more times than a sane person would. Could it be under another possible name?
Desert candle cactus might send you in the right direction
How did you get your euphoria to branch out like that?
Can you share few plant pups/cuttings with me
I wonder if anyone crows cyclamen these days. I’ve never seen those plants on the popular plant UA-cam channels.
I got a baby Palodiflorum last year because it's been one of my wishlist plants for forever! I love mine so much 🥰

I killed my ZZ plant. I really don't know how?? I can keep 14 Alocasias happy but killed a zz plant. Go figure 🤔 lol 😆😅
😂😂 that’s like me and a snake plant just can’t keep them alive.
It's probably too much water. I water mine every 2 months and they are near a north window. It doesn't require much on fertilizer either.
You prob watered it too much. I water mine about once every couple of months. Seriously
I can keep any fern alive no problem. Monstera however no chance
Fastest brown/black thumbs in the west. I have a boot hill of plants. I have low light and dry environment. 😮😢
you tlk sooooooooooooo much.
